I am jolly looking forward to Sarthe now :) you updating the world rankings Bret?

Yes they are all updated, not sure if you have moved but Etid did :)

1st steward findings going up now :)

Steward 1 findings up and fastest laps.
Congratulations on getting the fastest lap goes to..... Ellisnutt, also the track record, well done!
Oh and I have done the rankings list now :)

Afraid so SM, you were doing really well too man, I was gutted when you lost connection. Team Mercedes will have to wait until Sarth! We will be victorious!

Yeah my tele nearly got smashed.. i was going so good on my tyres and was easily set for a one stopper. Yep sarth it will be then.. ill practice abit more for this one lol.

KingSakery
@Skate: You probably know what clean means ?? It was a Duell sure but you where consistantly searching contact !! (Blocking, divebombing and bumping)
I lost my temper 2-3 times on you (sorry for that) but me think it was reasonable !

So got that of of my soul.

My small Report:
Race started well ... awfull. General spun me out at 5th Turn => last.
After that above mentioned "Duell" with Skate for 10 Laps => I thought well pit and get some rest from his attacking. But BS he pitted same lap -_-
After that I had some free laps but caught up on skate again and again it turned into unfairness -_- (I almost left the Race)
Lap 24 me think he lost contact. Till lap 31 I did some good Times and my Rage-meter went down.
Pitted on Lap 31 again. Got Lapped by Etid on Track (I followed the Blue Flags I was getting ;)) and Brett (was kinda close sorry for that).
After 2-3 Laps I was direct behind Runfast and Smart-Heart after they left the Pits.
=> 15 Laps of good Racin (sorry for the slight bumps Smart but we already did that :D)
Which brought me to 5th.

Tire-strategy: Start with Mediums (10laps)--> Soft (21laps)-->Soft (19laps)

Hope everbody did what I tried to do if you are the one who gets Lapped.

Yea sorry about that I didn't mean to cause contact but that only happened a few times. But what's wrong with a small amount of blocking? I think it makes for a more fun and interesting race even when I'm getting blocked

SM- Dont blame you mate, connections are a pain. We will share tunes and strategies and get a 1,2 finish K.

My report-
Got pole position which is a very rare occurance for me so that put me in a confident mood for the win. I had targeted this race as a potential win and not getting at least a podium was out of the question.
When the lights went out I had a clean run through the first corner and proceeded with a little caution until my tyres warmed up. I could sense a car near me and in the fast s (turn 6 i think) I turned the corner and found myself being pitted. Facing the wall I took a while to recover and just got going in the centre of the pack. My rage meter was reading kill at this point because I felt my race might be in the balance and I got on the gas too early 2 turns later and once again was facing the wall :( only my lack of composure to blame this time.
I caught the others within a few laps although Flood and Ellis put up an excellent fight and lasted longer and then it was a case of chasing Etid down. I was catching very slowly until around lap 45 when my tyres went off the cliff and I knew it was going to be 2nd. I had a huge lead over 3rd so I slowed to a cruise and nursed her home. Even without the spin I probably wouldnt have beaten the indefatigable Etid so a big well done to him on his first win, a very impressive drive.

From an organiser point of view-
Well done to flood, you are born again. Fantastic drive but next time get your strategy right :)
Great Battle between smart-heart and Sakery and I had to laugh when electric flipped the huge foam block onto the track, it was getting in the way of loads of people after :) including me.
Remember to yield to lapping cars and keep the racing clean guys!

Awesome race!

Edit- Skate, you cant block like that mate. You need to pick your line and after they pass you can get them back in a safe place ok. Remember for next time 👍

Yea after watching my replay I admit driving to aggressively. Heat of the moment I guess. Sorry to all that I interfered with.

Thats cool mate, it was great to see you driving so well today, keep working on it and you will get a lot better. Sarth next, hope you can make it :)

Everyone- Lets have your race reports

Yea sarth will be cool man! It will be tough about cutting corners on there..

But i have to say, racing with no penaltys really changes the way the race is run.. felt realistic being cautious then seeing cars collide. 👍

Skate- Cool mate

SM- I know, the stewards will be busy afterwards. There will be some penalties handed out for sure. It will be 2 tyres on the tarmac at all times. I am glad ghosting is gone too but lapped cars must yield to make it work.

Small and Uneventful Race Report:
On the first 25 laps the battle between me and Sakery was exhilarating. I would be in front one lap, then he would take me on the next using the straight over and over again for about 25 laps we were driving awesomely no spins or anything! I thought the whole race would've been like this! But halfway through the race i messed up and pressed down on the throttle pedal too much and i spun at the last corner. And from there i was about 2 seconds slower a lap for some reason. Then i got lapped twice :(. It was a fun race though!

And one question. Can we do the 1 block they use in F1? 1 block to try to slow the other down then done?

I want this, but in the main op it says that all blocking is illegal unless covering the racing line..

Skate- nice report mate

Both- I want the 1 block move but the problem is in the excecution, if I allow it I am sure people will abuse it. I am happy to pick a defensive line and stick to it, do you think we should vote? Or do you agree it will lead to crashes ect.?

Yea i think blocking is a very fun part of racing. While blocking or being blocked. I love watching old F1 videos where Senna would block you oh so many times to make you back off.
EDIT: I think we should vote. We should also warn drivers to be careful using it

action starts at 5:40 "He would put you in a position where you would have an accident and he left it up to you to decide whether to have that accident"
If only we had drivers like this in the FGTC. Or just in racing

Oh and what a fast lap average on Sarthe? Im great at top speed tuning so this is my chance to place higher up in a race. Thats where im expecting to make the most of my time

anybody feel like emailing me the saved replay data?all good if its not possible, thanks

Skate-Nice video but the modern take on blocking is quite different, I shall put it to the vote later on when I finish work. If we all had the same car control as Senna we wouldnt have any problems he was certainly one of a kind.
I cant remember exactly but I think 3 minutes was a good laptime at Sarth, hopefully I will get a practice later on and get a better idea.

PB- Your spot will be there mate, I dont know how to e mail the saved game data but maybe one of the others do?

@Skate: Accepted your apologie.

I like defending my position but what you did on the main straights (the other things are racing combind with emotions etc) was no good.
But I got 5th place at the end => it´s forgotten and I hope we can fight again because it was fun (only the main straight filled my rage-meter :D)
Smart, Flood and I had the superb Battles. If you give everbody some room to survive it´s fun fighting for both sides (well you had fun too but me not xD).

I like the modern F1 rules for those occasions. Before a Turn you can switch drivingline once (=> one "blocking" manouver) to try and keep your position.

(Maybe you could zoom in at the Track at your left so you can see a bit more of the current Track and not the whole one ;))

I do like the old F1 too but I don´t like racing like they did except the Lobby is stated dirty.

EDIT: How is it possible that I´m the 2nd slowest time-wise and I´m overall 5th ?? :D But this is not the first time so I asume I´m Captain Slow :D

EDIT²: I lost my Head 2-3 Times too (at the first 10laps) => I would suggest penalizing me too.
Nothing what happens to me shall give me the permission doing the same to my oponent. So Brett do your work :D

Hey Guys
Sorry couldnt make it - numerous personal issues , but *should* be sorted for next weekend
worst case, i wont race, but i should still be there and if i wont be able to race, ill be stewarding/test streaming the race online

I like the modern F1 rules for those occasions. Before a Turn you can switch drivingline once (=> one "blocking" manouver) to try and keep your position.

i do as well , and someone correct me if i am wrong, but if the car ahead moves to block, i believe there is still an option for them after that. Once they have taken a different line to 'block' , they have the remaining option of returning to their original line (even if it 'blocks' the following car a 2nd time) or holding their new line.
can anyone confirm? PB? Rhyfe? Ecklestone?

Glad to see people enjoying the first race - scared about the mention of rage meters tho!

Sakery- I have completed my inquiry but am waiting for the other stewards that were present to message me with their findings, its not over yet :) Oh and I am living proof that you can have slow laptimes and still win the race (I am normally slow lapwise) with a smooth drive and good pit stops.

Neth- I thought you had dissapeared again. Glad to hear from you, I hope that you can race at sarth and I will be needing you for a steward too because we need to watch a lot of corners in quali and I need help with the replays. (also some revenge will be sweet if I can get you after last time at this track).

I much prefer the modern rules and dont like the old style of blocking.

F1 blocking rule
1.You may make 1 change of heading to block an overtaking car as long as you dont collide or put the other driver in danger. You must then hold that chosen line into the next corner. I see this as- If I block to the outside I am in the correct position to get my racing line, if I block to the inside I have to take the corner from there.
2. If you are alongside another car you must give them space to take the corner and vice versa but if you have the lead it is the chasing cars responsibility to avoid the collision. In the FGTC this is very important because there is a huge blindspot as I found out in lap 1 of Tokyo :)
I hope I explained this correctly as I am half asleep :(

Hey Flood, thanks I got it and replied.
It was a fun watch for the first few laps but had less battles than normal. I enjoyed getting on the track yesterday and cant wait to try and get my revenge on Etid :D

Ill be on around 830 if anyone wants to join me in my practice session, try and get some top speed out of these beauties!
