Could the finals be held at Interlagos? The F1 race is in November, the track is in the game........it could happen

I doubt the finals happen anywhere outside Europe. It's possible, but I don't think it will happen. I don't think Brazil is the safest place either. Wasn't last year F1 Mercedes team staff were robbed at gunpoint at Interlagos?

I've got two questions to the World tour participants:
1. Can you keep the puma gear that you use at the events?
2. When you have to switch drivers, do all drivers need to use the same FFB settings? Or can it be set differently for each driver?
1. Yes. Just a heads up if you receive gear in future events that it's on the tight side. If in doubt, I would go one size up.

2. In theory, you could but I mentioned to my teammates that it would be far easier to adapt to one setting. I will say that using other people's settings and simply watching them in action while using them was a good learning experience.

Being back at home and my daily work makes me think that event was a dream. I've so many memories, I'll never forget. Got a ride in my dream car (Thanks you @Espial ), met all those drivers from all over the world, getting so much laughs in the bus, finished 2nd in Nations Cup, late night party and dance with Kaz...

I enjoyed so much those moments that I don't even care about my wheel issues in the Manufacturer Series (wouldn't be the same react at the world final probably )

I will not take part of regional final but see you on the World Final :P

There couldn't be a better birthday present (20th of October) for me than going to the event and meeting the man himself. I really hope I get in.

You could say this is a real human drama for me. I should be 29th after all.

Ah yeah that happened,it would be a great venue for the finals and a nice conclusion to the GT6 Ayrton Senna tribute but in terms of safety i agree Brazil is not a great place(and it hurts to say that because i'm Brazilian)

Maybe Abu Dhabi in late november with the F1. I dream with that.

That would be an amazing venue and even better because it's the last race of the year.

I would be really surprised if it was held along side an F1 event. They're doing there own esports events now so probably don't want a major gt sport event at a race weekend.

I expect the event to be Paris due to the FIA connection. My next best guess is London or Tokyo

I dont know why but Tokyo sounds a lot in every part of the world.

I'm reasonably certain that you can rule out Tokyo as the World Final destination, because that's where the Asia-Oceania regional is being held, and I would think PD would try to host the world's overseas as a treat for their Japanese qualifiers (especially in the manufacturers).

Speaking of which, I just got my ticket and it has me staying in Toyko until the 9th, so it looks as though the exhibition manufacturers battle on the 8th is going ahead after all. I don't know what PD's plans are regarding how much of the event is going to be live streamed though.

I believe the Nissan GT Sport Cup will be streamed live on Nismo TV, I can see it also being streamed on GT's youtube channel, but I don't know for sure.

As far as I know, he has stopped sim racing and wont be attending this event.

Yes it will be streamed on Nismo TV as well as some other prominent channels - currently scheduled to start at 09:45 CEST (08:45 BST)

Salzburg was an incredible experience and I can only echo other people's thoughts on the whole production of the event. It was great to meet everyone, some of whom I've raced against for the best part of 10 years. :) 👍

I only got back home from the Madrid press conference last night. I never thought I would be sitting next to Kaz answering questions from the press! Truly a unique opportunity and experience.

I took some pictures which I thought I would share, as there's not been much talk about the whole conference, which was really well done and I can imagine a huge amount effort was put in o get it all set up. As an example, there were 3 people on violins (or other complicated looking string instruments I don't know the name of) and a drummer playing along to the trailer video which introduced the beginning of the conference (edit: link to Playstation ES tweet with video) I thought this was a really nice touch as it matched the theme of the in-game menu music and I think it would be a nice addition to the regional finals.

At the end of the questions and after I'd done a hotlap on one of the 7 pods, which was displayed to the audience, there was a guitarist and the same drummer playing a cool riff to a much faster paced end-video which contained clips from the top 24 races and Salzburg.

I guess that image could be a hint that the Madrid City track could be coming back, as thats what the image shows.

Asia/Oceania special page is up (only in Japanese)

https://www.gran-turismo.com/jp/gtsport/asia_final2018/

Interesting how a resident of a European country (that isn't even listed in the Star Player system) is allowed to compete for Australia. Guess we'll be seeing a lot of European accounts created in smaller countries to circumnavigate the EMEA country limit for Nations next year!

Shame that there won't be an English coverage of the Asia/Oceania Regionals. Would be nice if @Jimmy B and @Tom were there...

Ah well, there will at least the EMEA and Americas finals to watch, then importantly the World Finals.

And it's seems like there is a hope for rick-918-bmx, as Nik_Makozi somehow scraped into the Finals! The only problem now is, will Rick be 18 by the time the World Finals took place?

One interesting thing is that both David (warrior2167) and Adam (Adam_2167) are brothers!

EDIT: English broadcast is available it seems like.

I believe Jimmy is going (along with Chris from the Nurburgring World Tour). 14/30 are from Australia or New Zealand so not having an English option would've been an amusing and embarrassing oversight!

Also the 10th Japanese driver to compete at the event was only the 27th best from Japan in the Final Season. That seems like a suspiciously high number of dropouts, I know in Japan taking time off work is almost a sin but that's a bit extreme

I do think Miyazono-san (Kerokkuma_ej20) is one of those who competed in the Salzburg event to miss out, and so does @SkyPikmin's teammate Kawakana222. Miyazono's Subaru rival, Johnny Wong (saika159-, Hong Kong), is competing alongside 2 other HK drivers from the World Tour.

So from that, we got all three Aussies (holl01, @TheConzio98, and Bass71_CKL), all three HK guys (Johnny Wong plus NegiFISH-NaF and Kars), and 2/3 Japanese guys (Toyota boi Yamanaka-san and Nakao-san, yamado_racing38 and CLS63AMG-sc respectively) from the World Tour competing in this event.

As for EMEA, we obviously got Adam Suswillo (@Aderrrm, Great Britain) and Manu Rodry (Spain) in their Finals event. Are you (@mthomas_95, GB) in as well? Or is it Zoran Klasic (@ZokyCRO, GB) actually plus Martin Grady (@Tidgney, GB).

That doesn't make sense to me,the Red Bull Event had Japanese commentators who probably had to fly from Japan for the Event,i think PD could afford to fly Jimmer to Japan, maybe he's busy so he couldn't fly over to Japan.

I believe Jimmy is going (along with Chris from the Nurburgring World Tour).

I hope he goes,we need a Jimmy Broadbent Japan vlog.

Oh wow, Nik_Makozi made it, so therefore I scraped in because of Brocky05's inability to go
But I have to somehow beat 2 other Aussies if I want to advance
I was actually looking forward to mixing it up with other countries but it looks like we have to beat each other up first

You are seriously telling me that 27th in Japan can get in, but I can't by being 4th in my country and 20th overall?

What makes it even better is just before the Regionals they appear to have changed the rules regarding the backup participant, and apparently the backup participant is now someone WITHIN the country limit, despite the backup participant being the top player overall that missed out due to the country limit at BOTH World Tours (and even written in the damn rules)

Obviously when it my turn being the top player that missed out, they go and change it :(

Honestly it really feels like PD does absolutely everything in its power to personally screw me over sometimes

Ah whatever Im over it, needed to vent. I'll just see you at the Worlds guys :)

Hi,
Sorry for asking this, but is there any place where we can see the details of those regional finals?

Like the link for the asia event.

I would like to see the same for Europe and Americas.

Thanks

They aren't available yet as they happen later in October :) (Asia then EMEA then Americas)
