I think Hizal doing well here after a poor qualifying shows how poor it is for so much to be decided from one qualifying session.

He could be the Joint Leader with 10 Points (race isn't over yet), yet be forced to start in the back half of the Final, and have less option of choice, even after winning the Semi-Final.

All they needed to do is have 2 separate qualifying sessions, with one deciding semi-final grid/choice, and another deciding Final grid/choice.
