FIA Formula Two Championship

Without the chance to set the car up to my personal liking, i will never race in a competition using the FGT.

That car is the pinnacle of the race-able cars in the GT5 game, and people willing to race than, must to be able to set such a car and all ready should have a preferred general setting to apply before the fine setting from practice.

If i´m looking to close door to door racing, i will opt for a Golf or CR-Z trophy.
The FGT car, is not only for a battle of driving skill but also car setting and race management.

Cheers.

I understand where you are coming from but if you have a good setup for this car at this BHP then why not share it with everyone so that we can all work on getting the best tune for this car. My tune isnt perfect i know. But its all ive got so until someone shares another one then thats what we've got. Uf you want ti use you own setup then fine im not going to stop you. There will be plenty of others who also use there own setup. and im sure they will be at the front somewhere...

Coming I know im a little late but the race starts at 9pm yes?

Race 1 was a lot of fun, had some good racing with bronco.
Then Race 2 was a disaster, i got hit multiple times by JT's lag, and couldn't pass him, let alone catch the front runners.
Hopefully more stable connection next week.

By the way, in race 1, i was drafting Bronco, and instinctively geared up to 7. I passed him, then realised i was in 7th, so i gave the position back. It was the only incident.

I was also hoping that with 21 drivers signed up, we could get atleast 16 people. But nope.

Besides the lag it was a very clean race on my end, although there were some incidents in turn 1 involving some drivers and there were quite a few DCs.

I had two good battles with Paw and Paul, overall it was fun racing.

I was able to hit low 30s and 29 with some draft with JT's tune, it worked pretty well for me. I definitely could of got some podiums if I hadn't spun in the first race and received heavy damage due to lag in the second race.

I'm willing to host next week if I have the best connection, I know I have 10mb download but I'll have to check the upload.

More reports from the race, please! I wish I could have been there but this thing called Real Life came and owned me. I'll try to make it for the next week race.

Well, looks like this series has died after just 1 round, the creator hasn't been online all week or updated this...

PlayStation Nation!

My name is Matthew Harper, and I’m part of the recently-formed PlayStation Digital Platforms Community Management team. Our mission is to keep you better informed about everything that is going on in the wide world of the PlayStation Network, to make your voice heard within the company, and to ensure that you, the gamer, are at the heart of every development across PSN. Together, we will help guide the future of this platform.

I’m here today to let you know that we will be performing routine scheduled maintenance on the network on Monday, April 16th, starting at approximately 6:00 am PDT / 9:00 am EDT. This maintenance will last roughly 13 hours, concluding around 7:00pm PDT / 10:00 pm EDT. During much of this time, users won’t be able to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, Account Management or play online. PSN enabled websites will not be able to service users, including this one.

We will continue to provide as much information as we can regarding any future maintenance we need to schedule.

Keep your eyes on the PlayStation Twitter feed for a notice when PSN is fully back online. We look forward to gaming with you all when the maintenance is finished on Monday night.

In BST that is 2pm to 3am so no race tomorrow then.

oh, didn't notice that at first :)

Apologies for all the confussion. My internet has been patchy lately. Should be sorted now. Round 3 and 4 will be tonight, same times if we can get enough people together on this short notice. Will update results and OP as soon as i can get to a computer. Hopefully see you all tonight.

Also, race 2 is under review after my initial viewing of the replay showed multiple corners being cut by some drivers. Unfortunatly i cant review race 1 as i got disconnected half way round my final lap.

Racing tonight? In a couple of hours?
Thankfully i checked here, i was about to go to sleep.

I cant be there as I have other duties to attend to.

Oh I think I accidentally cut a lil every once and a while but I think almost everybody did. Although I remember one big cut I had but that happened because my rear hit the grass and because I was turning it forced my car to cut the corner. However I lifted off the throttle and didn't gain anytime from it.

I havn't checked everyones replay yet but thanks for letting me know. I wont be penalising everyone for little mistakes. Was just alarmed at the first cars replay i watched cut the same chicane every lap and may have resulted in really fast lap times (the 2nd chicane at Monza is not designed to be taken in 4th gear...).
I had my car between the lines throughout the races and i obviously paid the price by being 5 seconds a lap slower.
But at the end of the day, i probably wont penalise anyone as it would just take to long to go through everyones replays. Just have to live with people cutting and judge ourselfs.

So.

Race 1
1st IMMORTALPILOT (as usual)
2nd PAWEL17 (Yours truly)
3rd ADr_Bronco
4th Takitala

Race 2 - Cancelled

We got screwed over by last night's PSN "outage"

Maybe next week we do 3 races?

If you want the cars to be evenly matched then why don't you use the "tuning prohibited" option? Then you know for sure everyone has the exact same setup. If you did this I'd be very interested in participating but as it stands you won't have the close racing you desire because everyone will be on different setups.

This season has always been a bit of a work in progress. There are a few things that will be changed for the next season and tuning is a major issue.

As for last night, got disconnected again. My internet obviously hasnt been fully fixed yet. Must be something in the setup wrong. If you guys want to finish this season next week with 3 races you can. I wont be there (working night shift on Monday and internet probs) and i'll look at a revamp for season 2.

I forgot this was on Mondays, as last race was tuesday, and know one updated anything here.
Thankfully nothing was organised.
Can we get a race scheduled? Get people back, and do some more races.

I think this has lost a lot of interest. It happens when no one (except one) can win. Everyone used there own setups dispite the number of times i asked for input into a 'base setup' which would have resulted in closer racing. Then after watching replays of race 2 discovered why i was 5 seconds slower at Monza as many drivers cut chicane 2 taking the corner in 4th or 5th gear. I cant compete with that level of driving. I started the series to promote close, fair and fun driving in the FGT. I forgot that a lot of people dont care for that much and must win everything at all costs.

I may bring it back in a tuning prohibited version, but right now i dont feel like i can at the moment.
