If you give the Supra more power you can negate the handling advantage with ballast. So 463hp with turbo 3 and 1220kg. That will help top speed imo.

Thankz Seth, we will try that out. At Mazda coming cross the start/finish line the Supra & Viper both crossed at 123mph so now to test out the top end.

Hannibal ill get you all signed up, do you know what car your driving yet?

Not yet. But I'm thinking of using the zonda lm if I can?

Oh snap. Ok, well obviously, as you can tell, my math sucks :D

Count me in! :D

GTP: HanibalII92
PSN: HanibalII

Car: Not sure yet.

Be sure to turn up earlier mate, Just incase I've ballsed up my maths, Last race started after 7AM for me, but I think it was a late start, so if you hop on around 7AM your time, you should be all sweet,

I'd be inclined to say 1230kg at 463hp or 1250kg at 473hp, this thing is mental in corners!!!

1230kg 473hp and it can almost match the best cars at Laguna. Others like the Mazdas are low 21s or high 20s. The best are doing low 20s.

You said "almost", so would it be safe to say 1220kg @ 473hp would put it exactly with the best cars guys?

Hannibal I will sign you up with the Zonda LM for now. 👍

Awesome. Ive also sent you a pm. :)

Just to open up the question a little more. Is fhere anything I need to do in preparation for the race?
I've noticed that a lot of people are positing lap times etc. Is thaf just for figuring out which car goes best?

Thanks for that :) I'm in NSW, hopefully I'll be in contact with somebody else that's alsoplaying, so I don't get the wrong time. Given it's the weekend, (And a Sunday) I probably won't be going to bed anyway :D

Now further questions. :D

I assume we're only allowed to run stock cars? No add ons at all?

Just to clarify, are we still allowed to add/remove ballast and tune to our liking?

It's my first time doing an event like this, and don't want to get anything wrong.

I read earlier that the PP was strictly 450-470? Correct?

The Zonda has to run at 463hp at 1270kg, you can place the added ballast where you like, but you cannot remove it, the downforce can also be adjusted to anywhere you like, the only limits to a car is bhp and its weight,

Unless it says you cannot use an additional turbo, supercharger or stage 3 engine, then these are not allowed,

The lap times get posted by the quicker guys to give everyone a reference point in their lap times, there's nothing worse then not knowing how far behind you are until the race comes and your 4 seconds off

Also, if you are having any issues with understanding anything, just post here on the thread, whoever is online at that point in time will be able to help you,

Awesome. I think I'll try out most of the cars listed. (I've got them all except the skyline and the Nomad) :D

I'll probably post some more questions.

Also, in the original post, how come members already have points?

Wooop, point's leader!!!! we had Monza 2 weeks ago, I gues that's where the points came from,

......... What are your times jordy????

i posted some a little while back that you re-posted for Joe at one point, but i have just been trying to make a consistent car instead of one that will go fast for a little while

im sitting on consistent 1:21.4-7's at the moment, but i know i can get it down to consistent 1:21's with a little bit more tinkering!

I know the faster cars are in the 1:20s consistently. I think 1:21s will be good pace if you can run that around others.

i did manage to get a 1:20.771 but yeah couldnt get it to run consistantly at that! loving the Audi though, drives so nicely!

Ok. So I'm assuming we have to power limit the cars? Because my stock zonda lm comes in at 650bhp. And by stock I meam never driven . I chucked on ballast to get to 1270kg since stock is 150. And ive limited it to the proper bhp....hoping its all correct. .

Correct hanibal, I'm loving the ford but its slow, I'm awaiting Joe's confirmation on the Supra apec's, we did some testing earlier, we got it to within 2 choices,

1:49 is a slow lap correct? Thats what I got with the zonda, but I haven't played with the breaks etc.

Also, when it says "GT1 Black" and "GT1 White" you mean the Ford GT LM Spec II Test car and the Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II?

Also, I assume we can't use the concept models? IE, with the RX8 LM race car, I don't have it, but I have the concept RX8 LM. Same with the NSX-R Prototype?

Cheers

PS. does anybody have a stock Corvette C5-R? Mine has stage 3 engine tuning ;(

1. You can tune to your liking, but you can only add more ballast on top of what the reg's already are.

2. 450 to 470 is the horsepower range all the cars are at except the Ford GT's.

3. We have already completed 1 round so those are the points from our 1st outing. We will add the points from this next round and add them to our tallies.

4. I can put my C5.R up online so you can take it for a spin. But I think mine has eng 3 too. Imo it needs it. No one has chosen the C5.R or the none turning Camaro LM. I might have a go at re reging them so people give them a shot.

5. You will want to be able to run 1'23's to 1'24's to be able to stay out of everyone's way. We are very serious competitors and come fast & hard on the track. I'm guessing you might get lap eventually since the race is 3 to 4 tire stints long so if you see someone coming don't try to race them, just respect the blue flag and make way quickly.

6. you can run the Mazda RX-8 if you want. That car is very stable and doesn't kick out as much as the other chassis do, but it has GT3 downforce only so you better be good to keep up with it.

7. Drivers post there times to let other drivers know what to shoot for when practicing for a particular track or upcoming race.

8. Here's a tip. Set the car to default but max out the downforce and run 250km straight out instead of focusing on a tune. If the car is doing something that wont allow you to get around the track then make adjustments, but straight running without stopping every 5 laps to make an adjustment will teach you the most. To get into the 22's takes learning the track & car, but getting into the 21's will take some adjustments. I suggest you make your pit window every 7 laps to ensure you survive the stint. Some guys will go for the 22 lap window but that takes good driving skills not to shoot the tires off dog-fighting with other drivers. I'm still not sure which pit window I'm going to use for this event. Be prepared the race should take roughly 1 hr and 45 mins to complete.

JoRdY105:

21's I believe will be race pace around here. I only hit 20's when I'm drafting the complete lap or on low fuel. Don't get me wrong the naturally fast guys will hit 20's but most of us I believe will be in the 21's.

I didn't get a chance to finish the Tom's Supra test so specs will go up in 1 or 2 days max!!!

Awesome. I'm just playing with all the different cars. Got the XJ220 to 1.47 But that was with some stuff ups around corners. (Slowed more than needed and a bit too much wheel spin.) Plus I'm still not too familiar with the track. I was actually surprised with the performance of the XJ. I figured the GT by Citroen would've been better. Even the Ford GT was a surprise.

Just out of interest, what's the slowest lap likely to be?

I did a bit of running around with my ghost in practice mode to try and get a feel for race pace and try push myself, and judging by that the slowest with a mistake around the first corner and the corkscrew was about 1:30

Make sure your on racing softs when you change cars and get those laps in!!
Once you get your times down a bit start tuning or find a tune to slap on around gtp!!

Damn. Ive got quite a way to go then...

Im starting to think whether I've got the right track now. Lol there isn't more than one moza track is there? Lol

mazda laguna seca
you've been going round monza lol

Oh crap! Do you mean to tell me I've been practicing on the wrong damn track! Bahahah

In that case 1:25 will be easy. 1:20 should be possible. I know that track like the back of my hand...lol

Ok, now that I know I've been doing the wrong track....I've started on Laguna :D

I've been able to get consecutive 'clean' laps on the track according to the practice mode. Mostly 1.22 and a couple of 1.21s. But that was only with the XJ220 without tuning :D
