I had bad oversteer. Like, really bad. I didn't have enough time to set my car up today, as I was helping my dad dig a pit.

Anyway, I had a fun race so I will not complain. Sumo had much better pace than I did, so if I was that close to beating him, I think 2 stops were better anyway.

Edit:

Looking at the replays my wear wasn't majorly worse... It's just my setup didn't really compliment it.

If you happened to check, which car had the best tire wear? I think the V12 was nice to tires at 24 Nurb.

Yeah, that was a brilliant race, had to really work to keep the lead and then get it back when I made a mistake, definitely one of my best though in terms of consistency, I had to keep putting in great laps just to keep Carracer behind me. Very well done on the win, you kept it clean throughout and the racing was so close that it really could have been any of us coming home in first, and it was never decided until the last corner.. Truly splendid driving 👍

With my setup, I knew I had that extra bit of oversteer, but it gave me that advantage through the first sector of being able to turn more, although the car started to wrestle with me as my tires wore down and we kept coming through that 2nd hairpin, it was a challenge to keep the car straight down there. I knew it wasn't a great setup, but today has given me the experience to deal with it and I should be a lot faster at Monza now that I know how to tune the car properly. In terms of strategy, my plan was always to 1-stop on Lap 14 (Contextual), but with the nature of mine and Car's battling seeing the lead exchange several times, I decided I would pit on Lap 13 if he was ahead.. I did just that but he slyly caught wind of my little pit excursion and dived in quickly. From then on, it was yet more intense overtaking, and neither of us could break from the other as we were so closely matched, and even when I got a second ahead, the draft brought him back up to me. With about 2 or 3 laps to go, he made a final move on me, and from then on I was getting so close but just could not manoeuvre a pass as tire wear was just too great. Awesome race, and a well deserved victory for Car 👍

I'll be back next week for more.. and I think Dennis should get in on the action too ;)

Thanks, you did spectacular job.
I was actually happy for GT5s "draft". It made trying to get away almost impossible, keeping the racing tight.
I will be watching the replay later, will be fun.

Aston Martins are so weak (so far) in the FIA this year. Amateur teams aren't competitive. Kind looks like me this season :P

Are you sure? An Aston Martin won the first race ( Nurburgring 24h Endurance ) and another Aston Martin finished 3rd Sunday? The Aston Martin V12 gets great tire wear as a bonus.

The only car I'm worried about is the California, the other 3 look very close.

I was talking about my driving man, not the car. Comparing the two to the FIA GT1 races so far. The ACTUAL thing, not the GT5 series we have going. :P Sorry for the misunderstanding

neljack

You and Akmuq can, I dont wanna be kicked in the gahoonies for spamming :nervous:

Well you can get away with Lotus' and V8's :) I'm on my phone so I can't :D

Doing some practice in my lounge if anyone wants to come by.. will be away for a while though.

Anyone got times?

Edit: After a couple of laps managed a 1'55.456 on the weather version of the track.

I'm will be running laps later (much) tonight, I think I can make the race but I have family things coming up so... chance I won't make it.

I might be able to race this weekend if it's ok? I'll be bringing the same yellow ferrari as in the pre season endurance race. :)

TeamLotus_Esprit has a room open right now practising.

I am sitting on his bed on the PC helping him tune watching him.

Someone's had an interesting Saturday night, waking up beside another racer :)

practising is for wimps :) have no time to do that yet.. maybe later though ^^ (wouldn't be unhappy if a Ferrari driver happened to pass on it's setup to me.. hard to set up for a one off race :P )

Seriously..?

Yeah, I slept round his and watched the GP.

Spoiler Alert: Karthekayen wins.
And of course that's all you did ;) *imagining some beautiful scenes with two young English boys*.
You know you shouldn't do stuff like that ahead of a race right?

I know, but it's too hard to resist.

So Marunda, are you racing today or are you just loitering?

We need more drivers.

I am now off to the gym by the way so dont expect a reply.
