So Marunda, are you racing today or are you just loitering?

We need more drivers.

I am now off to the gym by the way so dont expect a reply.

I'm just loitering.

Need to test the Volvo in TOCA and get my Evo spec'd for ISSCT (or whatever it's called).

Also, I won't get a decent result due to lack of practise/set up.

Decent result is not necessary :) i'm just racing for the fun of it.

And it's ISTCC.

Yeah never mind the result, just drive around.:) You can really surprise yourself without practice, both my wins last season were without testing and they were a pleasant surprise.:D

I'd still rather not race. I'm committed to the ISTCC and not this now and will be committed for all further Saturday series by Dax.

Simply because the time for this is awkward. (ISTCC is similar but not so much so due to it being a different day.)

Good luck. 👍

So, race report time.

Was looking good for me in practise just ahead of quali, did consistent high 1:55s and had the third time it seemed. Then started quali and i could only get a 1:55.7 and all of the sudden that was only fast enough for 7th

Warm up lap, real chaotic, especially the start when those in the back didn't seem to know which speed we were doing, bumping all the time, got a half decent start and then followed some laps with lots of cars everywhere, hard to keep track of everybody and very hard to judge braking points, extra hard when others come from behind diving on the inside in every corner.

pretty soon i lost contact with the top 6 and had three slrs in my behind. Sumo was the first one to arrive and passed me several times, i repassed and then he passed again, the slipstream was really showing against the slrs.

Neljack crashed on the 3rd lap and everyone passed him.

Me and Sumo kept fighting, had som bumps here and there, the worst of them in the second chicane when i miss judged it completely. Didn't pass but made us lose time on the top drivers.

Sumo had some trouble with the second to last big brake-in and finally on the 6th lap, after first braking away from me when i messed up, he went in to the gravel there and i passed and got a gap.

After that i was pretty much alone and was going to try to make some fast laps to catch those in front but Dax ran off in the same place as Sumo on lap 7 and i caught him but just when i caught him he dived in to the pits for a real early pit stop.

Alone again but seeing Akmuq some seconds ahead and catching him in every sector. On lap 10 I started to feel the tires wearing off and wasn't doing any top times any more, at the end of lap 10 akmuq pitted and i had no one ahead of me.

The tires were old after some messy first laps and i almost lost it one time, time to pit!

Forgot to brake early enough so probably lost a bit being penalized but not that much. Exited the pits in 8th, Akmuq had a great pitstop and was nowhere to be seen when i got out.

From then on i just kept pushing to see if i could catch anyone and hoping that someone in front of me hadn't done their pit stops yet.

TL_Seven pitted late and i passed him in the pits.

Was running about the same speed as those in front a bit slower than some, consistently round 1:56.0 lower at first and then slowing at the end.

At lap 14 Neljack ran off in the gravel and i passed him for sixth.

Lap 18, started to look like i was catching akmuq real fast from watching the map so i stepped on it a bit, Big disappointment when i caught up and it actually was ranhammer who was being lapped..

Nearing the end of the race and my tires felt much better this stint so i kept pushing and was one of the fastest on track at times.

Now Dax's early pit stop came to mind again and i was hoping he would really fall of the cliff in the end because i was too far off those in front with so little time to go. Seemed like he was dropping some in the order and i felt like i was catching those in front.

With 2 laps to go i saw dax drop down to 4th and thought "it's happening, his tires are gone!" and tried to hurry up a bit extra, messed up at the end of the lap and almost spun, lost 4 seconds and really didn't think it was possible to catch any more.

Then on the last lap dax decides to drift a bit in the last corner, it doesn't work out and he goes off in to the gravel, i pass on the final straight and finish 5th.

This thing got a bit long, sorry about that but had a nice race and felt like writing about it. :)

*I'm not counting the warm up lap as a race lap, therefore my laps are not the same as those in the replay.

Heh naah not from memory, that would have been much shorter.. was writing it as i watched the replay. :)

I think you can keep that move, he wasn't very good at it :P

Did you write that all from memory or did you watch the replay :odd:
Nice job grabbing 5th 👍

@Dax, drifting the last corner of an FIA race is my move :grumpy:

I remembered it and tried myself.

swung it left... dabbed the brakes, swung it right, dab of handbrake, counter steering, counter steering... AHHHHH SNAP OVERSTEER...

Gravel.

That's what usually happens when i try to drift.. snaps back like that, bit too much correction. ^^

hand brake... you see that's where you went wrong. I prefer the scandinavian flick method. I can E-bake with my controller but with my wheel all I get is snap oversteer.

feels flimsy to press a button to handbrake with the wheel.. want something big to hold on to ;)

How are things here lads ?

Sorry but i'm too busy for taking part at this series, have fun though !

Don't think it would be fair for me to team up with Car :P

If anyone wants to team up with me then you're welcome to.
