Hello, ALL! ---

- As you may already know, we are installing a 'BoP' system in our League! This system is mostly used in Sports-car & Multi-class racing.(Tudor United Sports-Car Championship - TUSCC) is a good real life example. There will also be a driver 'BoP' system. This means if a driver wins a race or is far too dominate in a certain car, they will receive a reduction in power for a limited time.(we don't want to get rid of dominate drivers, just want to make it more difficult for them).

- I will explain why & how our 'BoP' system will be operated, this is for transparency so there is no confusion or favoritism. The GT3 Club has always been based around more difficult circuits & most of our practicing/testing is done @ Mt. Panorama. GT3 Club has always ran the 'FIA' GT3 HP range; 500-552HP. We chose 1350kg as our base to even the cars out do to the SLS & GT-R base is 1350kg. After running many races with all types of players the basic measurement of all 4 cars was;

-- SLS = 'big de-tune'
-- R8 = 'moderate de-tune'
-- Z4 = 'moderate up-grade'
-- GT-R = 'big up-grade'

- Ok! with ALL this being said, I hope we are all on the same page !
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*GT3 Club 'BoP' specs. NOV. CUP*

  • GT-R : 1364KG @ 552HP
  • Z4 : 1350KG @ 530HP
  • R8 '12 : 1350KG @ 525HP
  • R8 '10 : 1420KG @ 520HP
  • R8 '09 : 1420KG @ 520HP
  • SLS : 1350KG @ 505HP

See post #1 for car pic/spec.

--- Mods: Engine up-grade/Turbo stage: Optional. Power limiter: optional.
--- Ballast: If the car you chose requires additional ballast, it is to your benefit. After you add your additional ballast make sure to adjust your ballast position. Once you have done this correctly the balance of your car will be improved & therefore easier to control!
--- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-- Hemi, thanks again for your contribution to the 'BoP'. I adjusted a few things but, you saved us a lot of time!

Laguna Seca: The Corkscrew

- Here is this weeks tips/hints video! I would like to post a 'turn by turn' video but, most of them were too long. I chose a video that covers Laguna Seca's most difficult section, 'The Corkscrew'. I hope this will provide some useful information and or help you negotiate the section with better execution/consistency.

You are welcome gurizzi. Believe me, I know how time consuming it can be to do a BoP on cars in this game. Some cars get a bad rap because they are so easy to tune and some of the cars that are hard to tune can be awesome if you hit on a good setup. Unfortunately the GT-R is such a dog of a car that it needs what looks to be over powered and it will be fast on the straights but on tight tracks it's still gonna suck :banghead::lol:

Hi I'm finally here , Sunday I will race

-- Hello, Gignac! ---

Glad to see you here! I have already added you to the 'signed-up' sheet!, cya @ the race! If you have any questions plz ask here!

Trying to figure out how to get the SLS that fast. It felt awesome like usual, but it was actually about 2 tenths slower than my GTR. Gonna be a tough call for car selection tomorrow! I think this BoP is going to make things very interesting!

-- Hello, All!! --

I just wanted to remind everyone about how tight tomorrows race is going to be. On a 'one-lined' course like Laguna its important to give a little extra room and error on the side of caution or both of the cars battling might end up losing the position. This race is going to be a little more strict with race etiquette, so plz be sure to drive aware! thnx!

  • Lapped car procedure:
  • lapped car must yield/lower pace or pullover when leaders approaching.(safe manner/race etiquette)
  • lapped cars battling for position DO NOT yield to leaders.(race etiquette)
  • lapped cars who exercise poor race etiquette will receive a 1 race suspension.

- ANZAC-84-RACING, was kind enough to do some testing in the GT-R & helped with some 'BoP'. He also wanted to provide a set-up for anyone who needs some tips with the GT-R or just wants to 'compare notes' and use as a reference.

Ok, a couple of hours before start I have a question:
Let's take the SLS. 505 HP should be 376 kW. (In the german version of gt6, power is measured in kilowatts)
I hope I converted it correctly.
But what I ask myself is if there is a possibility to see if everyone abides by the limits? Especially non-members joining the race..

It will be up to the room host to regulate the drivers cars. Everybody can easily check the other cars regulations now. As for non members joining the room, if they don't conform to the regulations after being asked to do so they should be removed/kicked from the room.

Hello, Gappasson--

Good question! thnx 4 asking I should have covered this, sorry. I appreciate your concern for fair racing, I always go out of my way & beyond to keep racing clean & fair so the integrity of the race is @ its highest!

-- Public players - I have chose to now host our races in a 'friends only lobby' since we have installed the new 'BoP' system.

-- Individual specs. check - Once you are in the lobby, there is a 'members list'. You can click on this icon to view all participating players: car specs., tires & driver aids by scrolling through the list(on a PS3 controller to scroll its 'square', some1 is going to have to help you with the wheel). Before the race is underway i will make sure ALL specs. on ALL cars are correct!

(for your KW to HP conversion i cant really help u there but, once your in the lobby i can tell you how many HP you need to add so dont worry! but, i DO know 411kw = 552HP.)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I slept in an extra hour this morning! so i hope this ALL makes sense. If im still sleepy & you need more clarification, plz ask more question. thanks all! cya on course soon!

Yes I plan on racing today but I don't know the EST start time. If the time works for me I will definitely be there.

Everything clear now, thank you for your detailed answer. I didn't know that you can view your opponent's specs in the member list. Just tried it and..yeah 💡
Wondering who managed to get a 1:21,2xx in the de-tuned SLS. Looking at my lap times got me thinking that I did not convert the power properly
But now with the GT-R I'm approaching the 1:22,1xx from your training session, using the same app to convert HP -> kW, so I think I got it right.

11am Eastern USA --- hope to see u on course! :D:D:D:D:D

I should be able to make that time :D

KW to HP = 1kw = 1.341hp
HP to KW = 1hp = 0.746kw

this should calculate to the following KW:

GT-R = 411 kw
R8 = 391 kw
SLS = 376 kw
Z4 = 395 kw

Thermite's Post Race Show

That was a fun qualifying session! Gappasson and I went back and forth a couple times. Then Hemi pulled off a great lap to grab the pole. Gurizzi, I really think you should start making qualifying attempts lol. This league has gotten really competitive, and I think not qualifying has been hurting you a little.

I had a solid first half lap of the race, but then I hit the breaks early in the corkscrew to be conservative and accidentally gave myself a shortcut penalty. Oops! So that cost me 2nd place and I spent the entire first segment trying to run down Gappasson. I also had a close call when gibbs spun in front of me. I committed to the left side of the track and just prayed I wouldn't slam into him. Luckily I squeaked past. I was finally able to get around Gappasson and pull away after the first pit stops, which for me came with 42 minutes left. I went from RM to RH here.

I don't know how Hemi got such a big lead after the first set of pit stops, but he did! Luckily, my hopes weren't completely gone as he had to make an extra pit stop mid-race. He came out right behind me even with the extra stop, but it was still nice to lead for a few laps. It was at this time that I was also catching VTC to lap him. He raced me hard and it made for some exciting moments. One time, he went a little wide off the turn before the corkscrew, and I swerved to avoid him but still made some contact (no damage though). And at the same time, Hemi almost shot through the middle, but he wisely backed off. So it was a little frustrating but we'll move on to the next race!

I pitted for my second and final time with 20 minutes remaining, and went from RH to RM. Hemi came back in a few minutes later for his third stop, but he was so far ahead at this point that there was no way I'd catch him. So I just rode around until the end and finished 2nd yet again. So congrats on another win, Hemi! I'm bound to get one soon with all these 2nd's!

20 minutes on RMs on a track like Laguna Seca.. Ha! :D That's something I can only dream of!
And yes, that was a great battle during qualifying. Thermite driving a few seconds behind me, so every time I finished a lap, setting a new best, I could see him beating my time while breaking for the first turn  ..until HEMI decided to take over :P
As I'm new here: Is there a reason why gurizzi isn't participating in qualifying?

I've always been pretty good with tire wear for whatever reason :D

Haha that's the same question I asked shortly after joining. He basically just likes the challenge of starting in the back.

Just one thing to describe my race , 0.003sec , just epic end

--Hello, ALL!!!

Thanks to ALL who participated in this GT3 Club event!
-------------Great Drive HEMI!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- I had a great race! very exciting all the way to the end! I started on RH as usual but, i ended up having to pit 3 times? hmmm! i guess i just wasnt willing to stay out that long on worn tires. Great drive to gibbsgto as well, he had the race hot-lap for most of the race & was going good in the GT-R! Obviously(since im from the USA) i really respect Laguna but, wow! it is such a challenging track! if u get off the race line a little bit u really struggle to stay on course!:scared::scared::scared::scared::scared:!! I had just one little 'off' but i was right back on course! As Gignac said above, the finish was EPIC! I had plenty of time to set Gignac up since i was on fresher tires, so i decided to make the pass on the last corner. I thought 4 sure he would try to out brake me so i went deep into the braking zone & planned to 'stack' him behind me on exit but!!!!!, he made an amazing over under move & beat me to line!!!:cheers::cheers:👍👍👍🤬🤬🤬:eek::eek: (view finish margin above)Its got to be the closest finish for me in GT6! thnx 4 clean & great race knowledge Gignac!!

--- I don't qualify cuz its much more fun to me to work through the pack(if i can) & see how people drive! I think i will qualify @ Cote d'Azur tho! cuz passing on city circuits is a lot to ask!

Hey all, good racing :) I've always had issues staying on the tarmac at Laguna Seca. Had that problem during qualifying. I was really surprised getting the pole on my 4th lap but we had the top 3 less than 1/2 second apart. About 10 minutes into the race I decided to make it a 3 stopper and take a chance that the long pit road wouldn't be a factor. I had a couple of close calls of going off track but managed to not spin :sly: and the one Thermite mentioned with VTC where I had the notion of splitting the middle and instantly thought this ain't gonna work :scared: and hit the brakes  after we both got by VTC we were able to resume our battle. I had fresher tires than Thermite and just had to wait until I had a better exit out of a turn to make the pass for the lead. Once in front I just tried to keep it on the tarmac. The only other issue I had was fuel :nervous: and it was on the empty mark when I crossed the finish line :D

cheers all around

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I just want to ask if the race could be held one hour earlier at 6:00 pm UK Time instead at 7:00 PM, otherwise I can only join the races that will be at 4:00 PM UK Time.

-- We cant do that, sorry. There is a group of European players who requested the 7pm time & this is a new format that seems to be working well. Hopefully you can make as many as possible! 👍👍👍
