you did the 1:47's LOL. thise times are best laps i saw by any driver. R8 time was my best even tho i only turned it once! im sorry if the times arent exact, i just knw u did a 47 something.

Thermite's Post Race Show

This morning before the race, I lowered the downforce on my SLS to the minimum to see if that would help me get a little more speed, and it did! I noticed I was a solid 3 mph faster down the longest straight. My handling was also still pretty good, so I started to feel better for the start of the race. I qualified 5th and was the final car with 1:49.xxx or better, so I was happy with that.

The start of the race was a little shaky. Lots of people were getting ghosted as they tried to settle in, but luckily no one hit me or anything. Once things finally settled down, I found myself behind a battle involving BLADErunner, Gibbsgto, and Gappasson. BLADE eventually broke away from that as I got closer. So now I joined the battle with Gibbs and Gapp. That was so fun! We were all so equal. Unfortunately, Gibbs spun out just as I was making things 3-wide in the turn before the hairpin. Gapp and I were very lucky he got ghosted and didn't smash into us. After that, I applied lots of pressure to Gapp before he pitted. I stayed out until like 38 minutes left. I wanted to come in a couple minutes earlier, but I couldn't see pit road entry because of the cloudy/sunset lighting. So I waited until the lights came on to be safe haha.

I decided to run the first two segments on RM because I was expecting the rain to come near the end (better to go RM, RM, IM than RM, RH, IM). I fell back to 8th after the first pit stop and ended up right behind a large group of cars. Since I was still on RM, I knew I needed to make the most of it so I wasn't too far behind for the final segment. Again, sorry for being a little aggressive, Dan_is_the_Man. I know I made a bold dive bomb move on you, which isn't like me, but like I said, I felt like I couldn't waste any time during that portion of the race. I also had a smile come across my face as I saw HEMIata go off course, but that was short lived as he eventually overcame that haha. Once he drove all the way back up to me, the lapped Trumpulis slowed and went to the inside on one of the straights to let us by, but I almost rammed into him because it was dark and I was so focused on HEMI. He didn't do anything wrong. I just wanted to point out that my heart skipped a beat here :eek: I think I also had another little battle with Gappasson before the next round of pit stops.

I came in for my final pit stop with about 16 minutes left and put my RH on. I think I was in 3rd place at this point. I could see BLADE as I came in but new I wouldn't be able to catch him because of the tires we'd be on. So I just tried to hold on and secure a podium finish. I saw Gibbs and Dan racing hard behind me, and I started to worry that they had RM and would catch me, but luckily I was able to stay comfortably ahead and finish 3rd :D

Final notes:
-Totally fine with me that it didn't rain ;) It would have been interesting, but I had soooooo much fun with the race as it was. One of my favorite races with this group!

First let me say that was an awesome race guys 👍👍👍

I managed a nice smooth lap for a rather surprising pole position in qualifying. The start of the race was good an I was able to keep Raikkon at bay for the first few laps and got a gap. After that I just tried to keep it on the black stuff because it has more grip than the green stuff :lol: All when well until lap 10 and I had a bit of an off that cost me about 3 seconds and that was a key to what happened a few laps later. I pitted at the end of lap 13 and exit the pits just 1.2 seconds behind Raikkon (now if I just had that 3 seconds back :irked:) and Bladerunner right on my tail and we had a good battle going for 3 whole laps :dopey: but that came to an end when I had another off on lap 16 pushing too hard trying to pass for the lead :banghead: that cost me big time. Because I was on the outside of turn 4 in the sand trying to get back on the track was right in the racing line :ouch: I waited along side of the track and every time I tried to enter there would be another car coming :scared: So if I hope I didn't freak anybody out. That off put me 16.8 seconds back but more importantly in P8. Gappasson pitted on lap 17 so I was P7 then I got past Dan-istheman coming out of turn 2 and luni_racing going into turn 11 on lap 17 putting me P5. Then gibbsgto had a spin on lap 18 and I was P4. Raikkon pitted on lap 19 and I was P3 then I had a good battle with thermite for 3 lap but got by him when he ran a bit wide out of turn 2 on lap 22, that put me P2 :) Then on lap 23 Bladerunner made his last pitstop handing the lead back to me :sly: but could I keep it because I still had another stop to make. So I pitted on lap 25 and took 52 liters of fuel and managed to exit the pits with a 2 second lead over Bladerunner :D from there I did keep in on the tarmac and came away with another win.

I am stoked guys! I really can't believe I won the first 3 races with 3 different cars. I'm sure it will all come to a end next week but we'll see ;) now I need to see if can get a win in that 🤬 dreadful GT-R :lol::lol::lol:
 
I found myself sat in the pits during qualifying trying to decide what to do, set what would likely be just an okay time and be mid pack in what could be a wet turn one or stay safe, stay in pits and start from the back.
Decided to risk it, and just in time as i rounded turn one others were starting their first flying lap just behind me. Managed a decent lap and was surprised to find myself 3rd, maybe turn one won't be so scary after all.

The race starts, it's dry and my getaway from the line is poor and almost instantly i find Gappasson on my inside into turn one, he's past me but i pull in tight to get on his bumper and follow closely down to turn three where i dive past on the inside, but I've run too deep and Gapp is back in-front, but coming out of four and he runs a little wide kicking up dust and now he's slow and i'm past him long before turn five.
Lap 2 turn one and I've gone too deep yet again and Gapp re-passes me, later that lap it's Gapp with the braking error and that see's me past on the outside out of the turn 10 hairpin.
With this constant position changing gibbsgto is now right with us and the two leaders (HEMIata & raikkon_avanti44) are stretching their lead.
Eventually i settle into my pace and pull away just as thermite_917 makes it a three car battle behind me.
Expecting the rain to come at some point in the race i was running an RM until it rains strategy and figured the longer i could stretch each stint the better chance i had of pitting at the right time for the weather, so saving my tires was the priority.
Running a similar pace to the leaders the gap stayed around 5-6 seconds, and when raikk pitted on lap 8 i came thru the final left hand turns to see him sat sideways in the pit entry, i moved into 2nd with at least a quarter of my stint left to complete.
Lap 11 and i gain 3 seconds on HEMI so he must of had an off somewhere, end of lap 12 and i make my first pit, with no rain on the horizon i stick to RM, I rejoin the track just as raikk passes me to move back up to 2nd.
Lap 14 begins and HEMI comes out of the pits between me and raikk, immediately we find our first back-marker and he doesn't make it easy, even turning into me making contact twice at turn seven.
Lap 15 and i'm quicker this stint and right on HEMI's tail just as he is on raikk's, the three of us go into lap 16 separated by less than a second.
Turns three and four and HEMI put's two wheels on the dirt and struggles to control the slide eventually it snaps back and fires him at the nearest gravel trap.
Lap 17 starts and the gap between 1st & 2nd is just two tenths, turn five i'm able to pull alongside, but taking the tighter inside line cant get out of the corner quick enough so have to wait, turn 8 i get on the power early and turn tight to the apex and get alongside on the run down to 9, a small contact and i'm distracted miss my braking point and slide off into the gravel, I've only lost about 6 seconds but the frustration is huge.
Lap 19 raikk pits and i get the lead for the first time.
Lap 23 my final stop still no rain so have to run RH to the finish, despite having a quarter tank of fuel left i mistakenly select to fill my tank costing valuable seconds, i rejoin in 2nd place.
Lap 25 HEMI makes his final stop and rejoins two seconds ahead, kept the gap under 4 seconds at the end and brought it home for a comfortable 2nd place.

Fantastic racing cant wait to race with you guys again.

It would have been great to see the outcome without our mistakes but that's racing :)

Great drive HEMI !
- I had the usual start for me. I REALLY was looking forward to the rain & the difficulty of negotiating the awkward track conditions (since that's how it was in virtually EVERY prac. session!) but!!!, it never happened! This started to frustrate me about 30min into the race :grumpy::grumpy::grumpy::grumpy::grumpy::grumpy::grumpy::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::odd::odd::odd::odd::odd::odd::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::yuck::yuck::yuck::yuck::yuck::yuck:. At this point I was all alone in 9th place just driving around :mischievous:. p4n-sh0 & I pretty much drove the whole race together, that was nice company 👍. I would pit, then he would then we would be back together! That was pretty much the summary of my race! I didn't have ANY trouble with lappers, I flashed lights & they seemed to give me enough room, especially VTC thanks! Also, a great drive by BLADErunner80 & thermite_917 to round out the podium. HEMI, that's really cool how u have won in every car! now to the GT-R! hope u can keep it up!

- I'd like to apologize to ALL for not setting the weather correctly. The plan was to create 'scattered showers', obviously that did NOT happen. I will work on figuring this out for the future!

- Bambukas & Manny, I'm VERY sorry I had to turn you guys away @ yesterdays start. There is a sign-up system here & it opens on Tuesdays. If you sign-up, your spot will be saved no matter what! that way its fair to ALL. I hope you understand & sorry again!

@BLADErunner80 Oooooh so you did have RH at the end like I did. I might have been able to challenge you for 2nd if I took less fuel on my final stop, but I filled it all the way on accident as well haha.

That IS correct! He cannot score more then 75points, what he is doing now is trying to improve ANY tie-breaker he can. Example: hot-lap of the race, pole(s), ...etc.

so far i have only had to use up to podiums.

Currently sitting at the airport waiting for my flight to Dubai.
I'm doing a round trip through the UAE and I hope I can make it to Abu Dhabi for the F1 Grand Prix :bowdown:

I was rooting for Monaco cuz i knw ur our active German player & u want to race Nurb! I'm sure your trip will MORE then make up for it!!! That sounds like an awesome trip! Have fun & be safe! Ill be watching F1 on TV!
