Is there a way I can be put down as "interested"? I'd love to take part, but as you guys know, my schedule always changes so I can't really commit, so if I was to fully commit to this, it would waste my time and all yours if I didn't show up and took someone's spot who could show up.

Sure thing. Want me to put you down as a reserve and tell me the car and colours you'd probably run?

Only car I tried after buying it especially to team up with Paginas! 👍

Seems to be good after initial testing, with a best of 1'22.690 so far ;)

:)👍

Oh man, I watched the thread at 10 AM and no one had signed up, so I went out to wash my car and shop some groseries..

Sorry Adam, would've been great to do some practice with you. :(

No probs lol. Just opened a room if anyone wants to join for some practice/testing.

I would practice but looking after some dogs, they will just get in the way Lol

Is the first offical practice on Friday? Is so I might get the dust of my wheel as I will be free then

Lol.

And it's changed to Thursday now. That's not to say you lot can't get a room up and practice on the Friday, or when ever. :)

Trying to recruit a driver for you Adam... maybe he'll give you a run for your money:

GTP_T-L / iGoFast / Canada (0.866 / 0.976)

He's running in our enduro on the 29th and I mentioned this race. Said he has some friends not on the official registry which means they can't join our race until they run the qualifier, but your race would be fair game. Sent him the link so hopefully he can help fill a few spots and provide some competition.

Awesome! Much appreciated Tim. 👍

I've put another tune for the Evora on the google doc. I hope it's better. I don't think the Evora can ever be comfortable on them cambered corners.

I'm also aware a 3 stopper will be tough so there's now 4 mandatory pit stops. :)

I'm not sure I like the whole mandatory stops thing. Takes away one of the main factors on any race day which is pit strategy.

I agree with Jason, I like playing around with different pit strategies and I actually planned to do a 3-stopper.
The main reasons I win races is because of the strategy.;)

This didn't happen for me in a long, long time. (double post)

I only put in these mandatory pit stops because the tyre wears between the cars are sort of unknown, especially the GTE Am class. I know the R8 in GTE Pro likes to eat its rear tyres, whereas the GT-R is still stable when it's tyres are worn. But, if the majority don't want 4 mandatory pit stops then we won't have them. :)

Yeah I have to agree too, part of the fun is guessing your opponent's pit strategy (I was doing this all of the WRS Enduro with Dennis.. pesky bugger kept changing it :sly:)

I agree with you Jordan. 👍
3 mandatory stops is enough.. The difference between a 3 and 4 stopper can be managed by the driver.
The difference between 1 and 2 stops, or 2 or 3 stops is much more connected to tire wear. 👍

Dennis always changes his strategy.

I'm not bothered about mandatory pits

Lol!! Do I?

Just letting you know I'll definitely be in for this... Just need to pick a car. (I'll probably end up in the Audi just to put another body in the ignored pro-class)

I've actual on occasion been able to drive back around people when I do more stops then them sometimes. This works well on big tire eating tracks with a ton of laps'

I hardly think the number of people who commented so far make up a "majority".^^; I think having 4 mandatory makes it more fair. If you don't have someone calling the race for you, strategy is not all that enjoyable. All it means is making a chart in my case...which isn't much fun.

I think I'll be around for the practice tomorrow though, at some point.

Around here, the creator view the ones who state an opinion as the ones who care.
So up to this point, 4 says 3 stops, and 1 says 4 stops.. = Majority says 3 stops.
Simple.

I'm not trying to pick on you or anything, but if you wait for everybody to have a say, the series never gets going.
The ones who state an opinion are the ones that are viewed as "majority", no matter how many sign ups the series got.

The creator "only" listen to those who have a say.
Just sayin' ;) 👍

Hope that makes some sense.

My view at the time I wrote it was that a "majority" did not consist of "the people who happen to be online during that time". I never had the thought that literally everyone had to have a say. Just more than those that happen to be around in that window in was debated (as in, more than 25% of the participants). I'm well aware of how it would work, and I am not unreasonable.

I'm still not in favor of anything more than 1 mandatory stop because it takes some fun out of the racing for me. Pit strategy is a key part of racing and if you force everyone to make the same amount of stops, you effectively ruin the chance for someone who made a mistake early in the race to get the time back, or someone's chance to try and sign off with a win. Case in point, if MULE had forced us to make 2 pit stops during the last Integra race, I wouldn't have won. I suck at outright speed and am rarely fastest in practice/qualifying runs, so managing tire consumption and pit strategy is my way of making up that lost time.

I would also say pit as many or as few times as you wish. At the end of the day, the idea is to complete the number of laps required in the fastest time :D ;)

Tried out the GTR and Vette tonight along with some more laps in my Ford GT.

Best Laps:
GTR - 1'21.8xx
GT - 1'22.0xx
Vette - 1'22.2xx

Found the GTR to be pretty uninspiring, however it was able to run that lap time with tuning only to the weight and torque distribution and Tranny. Diff', suspension and brakes were all stock. My GT has a tune on it to get it to where it is and is an interesting drive, but the most fun car for me was the Vette, although even with some tuning, I found it tricky to get down to the low 22's. Couldn't comment on tyre wear really, but I'm pretty sure the GTR would also fair better than it's rivals, although it may struggle to pass them as it doesn't have quite the straightline speed.

excactly the same here !!👍

Here's the facts... the cars aren't equal (most probably). That goes for the car's pace, tuning potential, tyre wear rate and stability when it's tyres are worn. This is a 1 off spot race. There's no 2nd round where we can tinker the specs. I don't want some people to be at an advantage right from the get go because they can do 2 stops less (in a 1 hour 20 minute race, no less) because it will end up people moaning at the end of the race that they had crap tyre wear etc. It's bad enough when people moan that their car was too slow on the straights or too slow in the corners. Unless a group of you want to put hours into tyre wear testing then the 3 mandatory pit stops stay.

Thanks for them times Nige. I spent a whole of time in a room yesterday with Jay testing the GTE Am cars and I'm happy with the specs there. I'll be testing the GTE Pro cars more over the next week.

I can understand that, but for the moment i am doing 1.25 in a Pro car, my strongest point is the tyre wear.....
