All I know is, unless PD does something incredible and drastic to the Jaguar, I am never using it again. I am so tempted to sit out the remainder of the season. But I really like this game so I'm trying to hang in there. And I looked at the standings and it is at the bottom in every region.

Of course, I forgot to save the replay but I'm running P8, go wide into the dirt after T10 before the pit lane entrance, get hit as I'm trying to come back on track and get respawned at the start/finish line but the counter doesn't roll when I cross. Basically, the game took a lap away from me. It's amazing that I was able to finish P16 but the fact that there's nowhere for me to report this kind of bug or have anything done about it is infuriating.

Slot 1 - Q12, forgot to switch to RH after qualy, pit after 14 laps to finish 8th after running as high as 3rd, for 114 points. Oops. Try not to do that again.

Slot 3 - Q10, forgot to switch to RH (again) after qualy, pit after 9 laps to finish 8th after running as high as 4th, for 104 points. Oops. Try not to do that again. :dunce:

Slot 4, here we come. At least I'm having a good night so far DR-wise. Up over 1,000... but I need 123 points or more to count..

Slot 4 - Q17. Door #1. Great. Remembered to start on RH this time and just drove around picking up spots until I finished 10th. Really need to get my qualy runs better, haven't had a clean hot lap all night.

Only 94 points this time for the lowest score of the evening. And only a 99 point DR drop, so I feel obligated to run slot 5 to try and undo all the good I've achieved tonight! :D

Second try went a bit better - at least I didn't have a run lap 10 two times. Lobby is much faster this time around, my qualy time is 1-tenth faster than the previous race but I start P11 instead of P6. I again go for a no-stopper - one of the few in the lobby that does so. Things are going ok up until the corkscrew of the final lap:

I'm fine with finishing P8, although I feel like I probably should've finished P7. I would've been fine if either other Porsche or yellow Corvette had finished P7. But the guy who t-boned me and ran past all three of us recovering from the carnage he caused? 🤬 that guy. :banghead:

21:00 Nations Cup - WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca

Well that went better than I expected.....

I wasn’t going to do this race but after reading race reports here, I changed my mind. I went with the Porsche and had 13 on the door. My first hot lap puts me Q3 and I’m thinking this is going to be a good race....by the time qualifying was over I was 15th. One racer then dropped out and now I’m starting 14th. Having read earlier reports, I decide to start on hards and figure out when I would switch to mediums during the race. I check the board and find that I need to finish no worse than 9th to have points that will count.

By the end of lap 2, I’ve lost the slipstream and start feeling like I was wasting my time. Lo and behold, by lap 4, I’m P10 as cars were all over the place. I keep checking my tires every lap to decide when it would be time to pit but they keep looking good.

On lap 10, I check and figure a no stop may be in the cards. My laps are consistently in the 1:31’s and I’m not all over the track. I am in a three-way battle and fighting for spots 9-11. Eventually I am P10 and P9 and I are battling for his spot for 2 laps. On lap 14, people are starting to pit and I get ahead at the penalty zone because he had a 1 second penalty and I only had .5 to serve. He catches me at T1 on the last lap and I couldn’t catch up. It was great raining him. There is nothing like clean, hard racing!

I end up finishing 7th which is way better than it was looking after lap 2!

See you out on the track!

Found out over the weekend that today's Nations was a Porsche vs. Chevrolet race and not a Gr. 4 free-for-all, so I decided to take part.

I had a clean but uneventful race that just came down to making sure I didn't make any major mistakes. I qualified 10th and stayed on the Hard tires the whole time. I spent the majority of the race in 9th/ 8th place, but on lap 14, a few Medium tire runners went into the pits, allowing me to jump up a few positions and that was that. Glad I was able to use my Cayman GT4 for once, which didn't have any miles on it prior to this.

Qualified P6. Moved up one on lap 2, but that lasted one til I got hit. Not a big deal. A spin by myself by way of the sausage on turn 2, dropped myself out of a meaningful points haul. Then some lower ranked drivers made it difficult until being the punted at the corkscrew. P20 until a heard of drivers received tire penalties. So P15 in a race that had so much promise from the green flag.

4th try was the charm!

Finally an all A/S lobby, and the highest point paying lobby of the night with the win being worth 172 points.

Entering the race with door #17 (phew!) I finally put together a decent qualy lap and started 4th. Remembered to start on RH and had a clean and green race from the get-go. Nothing to write home about other than being passed by someone I could have sworn was on mediums but apparently wasn't.

Brought the car home in 5th for a season third best 144 points and a DR haul of almost 1,100 points.

So, a great night at Laguna Seca, and a fun night playing GT Sport with 4 really competitive and mostly clean races. I gained around 2,000 DR tonight so back in the ~34K range again. Good times.

After seeing my friends all do pretty well in the Porsche VS Corvette race, really kicking myself for throwing away my one chance with a bad result. Just my own fault, not fast enough and not careful enough at the same time, ended up 12th when an easy top 10 and meaningful points were on the line. Bummed I couldn’t fit in another try! Will share a full recap tomorrow after the Manufacturers race, but meantime congrats to my pals here who showed how easy it should have been!

Yes! Still a chance to overtake you in the Local points. Some really close competition this Nation's Cup race, and all it took was an incident or two and a top 10 was out of the question.

I think the Vette could have been my car for this race, just didn't test enough to know how the rears held up with the mediums.

Was planning on using the first Manu slot as a practice session, but I'm one and done again after a good race.

Could probably get a slot with more B ranked drivers and have a chance at more points, but I'm happy to take my first Manufacturer win and run.

I quallied 7th and started softs and ran 7s-6m-1h, having some good clean battles in the early laps. Actually finished in 2nd by about 6 seconds but 1st was demoted for tyre penalty (I think they tried to run all softs, if so didn't work at all lol). 3rd was close behind and I think they ran 6s-6s-1m-1h, we both had minor offs so it's hard to say who would of won if we both ran perfectly clean.

All in all an enjoyable race, I hadn't raced that circuit before and now it could be one of my favourites. I'll have to try the regular direction.

Edit- I should also add in the m6 I didn't need fuel but I did run fuel mode 2 for 1.5-2 laps while on mediums to make it to the line.

Dagnabbit! Feel like the race was a waste because, I didn't save the replay and when I shared the pics below, I went to capture the live race and it only captured the two minutes after sharing the pics!

Wanted to watch the collision I had wiuth P9. He's a fair racer and in yesterday's race, we raced side by side and collided after the corkscrew. THis time, he faired worse by going off after we touched.

Hoiw it transpired, I ran 1RH/8RM/5RS(BUT, we clashed with 3 to go. So, I pit again for another set of RS as my tyres were dirty). I was on those fresh tyres after switching from RMS. Gaining spots from people pitting for RH and some that one stopped. P9 had one stopped and I was gaining at the end of a lap. At the start, I used patience, but got a run into T1. As the R8 is running a bit wide there, I have the inside for thew right bend, which I'll be on the outside. The R8 isn't letting up. We race side by side cleanly. On the exit of the left hander, I'm on the outside and the R8 is still accelerating leaving me no more room to the right. I'm on the kerb. I try to be kind(er) and right tyre catches a piece of grass. I fishtail and tap the R8. It spins right. I carry on and enter the pits. Come out right behind the R8 and wait til the bowl to pass.

I really wanted to watch that over. We were in 5th & 6th. 3rd place was attainable as I was fastest on RS, as the top cars were on RH and RM. ALso was held up a bit by P11 placing their car on the racing line and slowing a bit to make the corners on worn tyres.

Entered the next one.

Edit: Going for the same strategy 1RH/8RM/5RS

Edit2: Saved the replay but only drama was being held up by 5th, 6th and 9th on one stops. The RM switch really gives me a boost in the middle of the race. Noone wants to budge. Sometimes, I wish players would watch (V8)Supercars and know who they're racing. Just release me. Instead, the 458 is struggling, AMG gets pushy, the RSR is preserving(I think) and I'm trying to be courteous and patient.

At the start, me in the top three, broke away due to the other RX-V having dramas at T1. I was thinking to stay out and run long, but didn't want to. Could have kept my P3 as P3 had pitted for last lap. That's another thing, the RSR was on worn tyres and pits last lap. I've raced that player(RSR) and would have been nice to just let me go. The cars behind us were fighting one another. Anyway, now I have something to rewatch.

Going to trundle out and look a fool at maggiore tonight. I am beyond useless at that track, but need to learn it so going to take my jag out for a beating. Hoping the longer race and tire wear practice gives it some spice. Will update whether it is good or I just fill the back of the grid and try not to get lapped.

Yup. Mostly DR A grid. Going to be a long race. Oh well.

Fairly pleased with the result. Could have been better if i wasn’t bashed off on lap 10.

Nice to see @05XR8 in my race. Qualified 10th and aimed to do 6M/1H/7/S. By lap 3 I was into 4th with a few cars in front pitting early. Ended up being on my own 4 seconds behind 3rd and 2 seconds ahead of 5th. Got to lap 6 when I planned to pit but decided I was going to go for the 1 stop and stayed out. Remained in 4th until lap 10 when the chasing pack with @05XR8 in it caught up and then I was bashed off. Had some damage and decided to pit onto Hards. Annoyed with what happened but decent result for me as I’m not a big fan of the track!

Lap 10 incident:

Yeah, the AMG player has at times been clean and sometimes just barges thru. My first race, he was clean. This second one, was a bit rough. I thought you made it up to 3rd. JUst got the names confused a bit.:sly:👍

So what is it with tracks that I dont know or really dislike?
Not even sure how the track goes, first practice laps I forgot about the left right at the top of the hill!
Anyhow. I got into the lobby, half A, half B. I am door 18 and know there are plenty of fast people there. I somehow end up qualifying p13, which isn't great, but better than I thought. Start on Hards for the 1H/8M/5S strategy that seems good. Actually moved up due to a crash, then get passed, but clear the lap clean and pit. Start short shifting and coasting a touch to save fuel and watch tires. Move up to p10(ish) as not real sure with pit strategies, but keeping pace with the pack and not losing ground.

Pit for softs and drop back to p13, so finishing here is basically a win for me. End up passing 2 cars that were 1 stopping, pass a crash. Get passed and bring it home to a stunning p10.

Someone got the tire penalty:lol::lol: so it moved me to p9 and a season high points for 2 nights in a row.

Awesome, but not sure how I did it. I dont really like the track, dont know it that well, but hey, will take the result.
Cheers to all for the advice, good luck and good racing.:gtpflag:

And yeah @SweatyC I have had issues with AMG driver as well, then recently very clean races. Unpredictable that one.

Well done! Im hoping for good result today too, go go go team Jag:D
Got few rounds 90something points to count, so no pressure today which helps... Just grab a beer and enjoy racing:)

Well, figured out the no stop strategy for Nations race as I easily took the lead and pulled away...I qualified 3rd with a 1.27.93, took 2nd by lap 3 and the lead by lap 4, being patient, not realizing I was much faster because of medium tires. I wasted 4 laps that could have added cushion for my pitstop. I allowed the leader to block repeatedly, not wanting to bump pass. I pulled out to a 7 second lead over 2nd. It wasn’t even close to enough, after the pit stop I came out 6th, closing hard on 5th and his worn out hards .2 behind as we crossed the finish line. I lead for Almost 11 laps, set fastest lap And since a pit stop is about 18 seconds and I finished 7 seconds behind the eventual winner, I should have been able to win by a few seconds with a no stopper....math hurts. 135 pts for 6th.

I wish i’d have read up in here before the race.

Then there's the Polish guy who fell off totally at the third-last corner, rejoined at walking pace right onto the racing line (luckily ghosted, so I didn't end him), then spends the rest of the race sticking his nose up the inside or tapping the rear of my car in every corner he's close enough to do so. On every corner he wasn't close enough to do so he was trying to wipe out a Turkish driver behind him.

Two corners from the end, he stuffs it right up the inside and smashed me off the track, so one corner from the line I ended him.

"I didn't even touch you. You slided," sayeth the goon. I hope that every time he puts on a sock, there's a piece of grit in it.

@kirethk streamed this race, and said that my comment that this driver was an utter tumour was "a bit harsh"

(it wasn't; it was merely the approximate upper limit of how I can refer to someone as dickish as that in a PSN-hosted chatbox)
