Yes, i have to say Paul, a fantastic race, very well done.
I was so so pleased that everyone stayed in and no DCs, even with guys fitting their wings on upside down by the look of the photos.
Looking at the full race details and timing sheets on page 1, all of us were very close on lap times, just the really quick guys seem to mess up less. which is really costly at Brands.
The first 20 laps i dropped a few places down to 6th in the first few laps, but was up to 3rd place and running at the leaders pace after 20 minutes, as one by one guys in front made mistakes and dropped behind.
By 25 minutes i was not far from the lead, although i have to say seeing Aug go of a few times was a huge surprised and made me worry, not something many people ever see, but of course he had enough pace to climb back to to front end of the race.
Then it was my turn to make a small mistake that ended up as a huge time loss, but as many others had also done that, i did not fall back into no mans land, and found other poor souls who had also made mistakes to chase, or try to keep behind.
In the end i did enjoy it all, once i got a proper rhythm going after my 1st stop, and from there was great.
As we neared the end i closed and and passed Gueven, and had Daniel1990 closing on me, so was still exciting even though we were low down the order.
I just passed Gueven on the last lap, then the fuel ran out as i accelerated out of the final turn, but just had enough momentum to finish 1 second ahead of Gueven.
I guess like many, mistakes were my downfall, so easy and expensive at Brands.
I just want to say to everyone, thanks for being so patient before the start.
With people leaving and rejoining, all in all we sat there about 40 minutes to try to get everything sorted.
However it was hugely satisfying that nobody got Dc'd, and i know that all the resets etc etc etc that i insist we all do before the new room opens etc, may not actually help at all, however i do it for the poor guys that often do have problems, as i never get dc'd at all.
