Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

Pretty sure that's not possible without some foul play?? I always ruin races trying to get through the pack. So frustrating!

You may not be the best, but definitely controller players (like me) can be better with training. Practice practice practice ..... I was %^& in the beginning but now I am not so bad....

Learn the track and learn the corners, Its not easy to be a great driver but with some training its possible. Again: Training:gtpflag::cheers:

I have the game now 6 months and I get better and better, Not Worldclass but in some TT's I finisch in the top 200. Practice is the key.

Edit: I am now one of the best off my country (Netherlands). Practice:cheers:

I meant not possible to ghost for the whole lap, not not possible to do 8:10's, because that definitely is!

I think my intense practice days are behind me since the academy I'm afraid!!

That's a good question, I've never seen anyone do that. Be interesting to know how it can be done though, lol.
*ghosting long periods

I've just had a look in the status tab on the account I use for quick match (main account is maxed out) and saw that I've earned 568,044,976 credits in 1377 races with 25,014 miles on the clock. 22,709 credits per mile or 78,895 credits per minute.

I should get out more...

I was just about to have some fun on the Tsukuba race in the Subaru Impreza (not hatch) bet the guy on pole off the lime from third. Going along side him into turn 1 he pushes me over onto the grass... Seriously. Why? Would of been a fun race if it weren't for him and his push people off the track driving and obsessive blocking. To add to it he was a super slow driver.

Not to name and shame *cough* PSN ID: jaapwel *cough*

Still grinding it out at Bathurst and have hit what seems to be my limit time of 8:17.5 in the GTR. Miles off the time I saw last night by someone called something like dedenonnsomethingorother. 8:08.

I've quit chasing a better time in the GTR now as I'm at my limit but I've revitalised the event by swapping to the other cars. 8:23 and 8:25 for the R8 and BMW respectively but I'm really enjoying the low down grunt of the Corvette. Got it down to 8:21 last night. You can scare the crap out of the well driven GTR's with how late you can leave the braking but it's seriously hard (impossible ...) keeping up with them on the straights. I'd say it wasn't that much slower than the SLS though.

I've hit the same limit as you, with an 8.16.27 as my best, and am struggling even to get down to that again!

I've also regularly seen the individual you refer to, and he always runs sub-8.10 races. He's the only person that I've seen run sub 8.20 in anything other than the GTR, with 8.14 in the Corvette and the R8!

Now, to cap it all, I've just been in a room with a guy regularly running 8.06........

Different class entirely to me but even though I like to beat my own times, I also like to be in a race against other people. There's not many people out there who could give someone running those times a challenge. Victims of their own success? They can empty a room faster than a meaty fart and end up with 2 or 3 people just running against the clock or empty the room entirely. Yawn inducing stuff.

All of my best times come when I'm either being chased or I've got a chance of catching someone in front. If I find myself miles in front, complacency creeps in and I start making daft mistakes.

Ran some great races at Bathurst last night with a mostly good group of racers.
Pushing out Flat 2:05's in the AMG, and a best into the mid 2:04's
TC-0, ABS-1

I feel the courtesy car has a little too much aero for my liking, Bathurst needs a loose car for me to be really quick, I like the rear to slide on lift-off to set me up for the fast corners across the top of the mountain.

For more GT3 Inspiration and a learning tool for you guys not getting easily under 2:10 with ABS-1 and TC-1
(these GT3 guys do have ABS and TC active, I don't use TC, it makes me slower)

the new Bathurst Lap Record 2:01.286

WOW! Thats nice. Drive a couple races today and my best was a 2:07.

I have a groove around Bathurst,
30 years of watching every lap I can of the Bathurst endurance races, and playing it on any racing game I could find.

I've done 100s, if not 1000s of laps at Bathurst and I'm still struggling with turn 3. It compromises my speed all the way up the hill and I reckon I'm losing at least a second because of it.

I thought I would have clicked on that corner by now but it's rarer than rocking horse dung when I get it close to right. I know how I want to go through the corner but my ham fisted throttle control scuppers it. One day I'll get it...maybe.

Must be nice not having to worry about the end of that wall at 1:39 stopping you like the invisible hand of God.

The real world tracks in GT6, probably the ones that have good scanned surface geometry are hardest to be consistent on. It seems like the track irregularities come at you like curveballs. The more comfortable you get, the more likely you are to get tossed by some random bump. Bathurst is a prime example.

Turn 2, 4, 8 and I think 14 are typically where disaster occurs for me. With 2, I feel there's a groove - like an invisible carousel - and if you don't hit it just right you might as well plow into the wall.
I feel like it's easy to be fast through turn 3... maybe that's why I always feel like turn 4 is greased ice

I'm super fast and happy on 5 through 10 except when I'm magically swept clean off the track just before the T8 apex.

Same thing at 14, sometimes the car gets instantly crossed up and I'm staring at a wall. I just have to be conservative through there. Watching that video above, I cringed when he came careening down through there.

There is a camber on turn 2 but it's only a single car width to aim for. Staying a tire's width off the curb seems to be the limit though as that inside curb is a bitch.

The last hairpin after the Dipper has to be my favourite. Especially with someone being annoying behind me as I Scandi flick the car going into it and drift round it. Smoke everywhere and as I'm flying down the straight, they're trying to extricate themselves from the barrier. Always entertaining.

I've given up on the GTR (8:17.5) and going for the quickest time now though. I've got the Z4, Vette and R8 down to the high 19s and that's enough for me to keep most of the quicker GTR drivers honest.

That's going to be the problem at this one... people using troll cars. And of course, lots of those people can't handle the troll cars that they use. :ouch:

Cheers

Why are the 2J a troll car? It's a real car. I dont give a $%^if others can not drive with it. With the 2J i destroy the field 8/10. I train a lot with this car. the other players must be training with it. I wil winning at a race. That's why they call it a race:tup::lol: It helps me also that i know this track very good. I drive it hundred and hundred times in the Senna challance.

Yeah time for a beer cheers!

You've answered your own question... and that is exactly why it's a troll car.

If anyone can get into the top 2500 World rankings in any Seasonal TT, they should be banned from using any cars that have to be de-tuned to get into the maximum pp ratings. I would go even further and have PD put minimum and maximum PP ratings for EVERY race, offline or online.

Trolls only breed more trolls... don't you get more satisfaction from having a close, clean, white knuckle race with people who are close to your own talents??? I do.

Cheers

Because it's stupid fast and is one of the few, like ZZII, NSX Proto, TS030 and GSXR that are know to be "troll cars". You new here?

I spent an hour trying to get in a race, any of them, and nothing. Good use of time.

I understand what you guys mean. But then they should have the stock and borrow cars. I'm pretty good with the 2J. Should I just leave him in the garage? I just want to win every race.

Again, I understand you guys but they should exercise more, With some cars I sucks. Thats my problem not from the good drivers with that car.

You say you know the track. That's a good thing. You say you suck with other cars. Take this opportunity to get better with other cars!!! That's what being a good racer is all about. Learn from your mistakes and improve. There's over 1000 cars in the game. You have choices.

You want a challenge? Take any GT300 car and tune it up to 600pp. Get good with that car. Then switch to another car you suck at. Improve and get good with that one, and then switch again. The more cars you get better with, the better racer you will be in the long run.

You have LOTS of time with these races... they just started and will last for at least a month. Lots of time to improve with way more than just one car. Get better with 15 cars. That's your goal.

Cheers

Everybody sucks with the 2J - it's got a fan that sticks it to the road!

I drive 36 sec laps with the 2J. .It's not only the car. In one race there where 4 2J's . But they where so mutch slower than me. I can drive in other cars(pesca, hibride) but is that helps me? I know the track very good. Finally I'm one off the best at a quick match.

I know what you guys mean(again) but I dont't want a be a ''good'' driver in every car. I want to be one of the best in some cars. That's why I'm pretty good in the 2J and the chappy. I train alot with this cars. I have no time to be one of the best with every car.

Maybe about 4 years....

On some races you gyus make i think: Holly^&&** that guys are fast. (daytona QM,badhurst) .

I can train it but I'm never so good as you lads with that, So I picked up a couple cars and try to very good with it.
