Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

Racing against a couple of guys using the same tune as me last night. We were no more than a car length away from each other through all 4 laps and each had a turn in 1st, 2nd and 3rd on the final lap. I risked the last corner before the final hairpin and got myself an overlap on 1st and the inside line for the hairpin. Took it nicely, started to pull away feeling pleased with myself and got disconnected 2 seconds from the line. What? Really?! Now?!!:yuck:

Had a similar deal last night. Battling with some fast Elise Japanese drivers, finally got a clean start to show what I could do, pulling away, 4 second lead about the end of lap two, POOF...you have been disconnected from the server.

Wasn't meant to be. lol

can you share the GXR tune.
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...bull-x2014-junior.291084/page-89#post-9757075

that tune is for 450 PP

kept same ride height and suspension balance
same ratios
same differential levels
added the triple-plate clutch kit
100% power
got engine stage 3 tuning, sports computer, racing exhaust, isometric exhaust manifold, catalytic converter sports, kept the intake tuning
no wing
stage 2 weight reduction
ballast 197 kg
ballast position -25

Last night did more races with the Miura and some more tweaking. Got down to a 1:10.01x....so close to an 09 I can taste it. Biggest help was more rear wing, up to 19, also stiffer sway bars then my last set up post by 1 front and rear. Same balance.

I think tonight I'll play with my Elise a bit. Looks like it could be fun and less dominant. Winning races by 15 seconds is not as much fun as battling with some clean drivers.

I try to stay closer than 1 second but not so close as to let draft affect downforce or obscure sight making it harder to hold the right line. Especially when dealing with a dirty driver and with more than 3 minutes of racing ahead of you, you can pretty much count on them making a mistake under that pressure. Just have to be ready to make the right move around them and not get caught in it too. Patience is a virtue!"

Well, in racing you will only race one car at the time - the one in front of you. If you focus on the one ahead of everybody, you will make mistakes. It's just the way it is.

At Nurb, if the leaders pace will be around 8.10 per lap, I will follow, if not, I will push to pass. I'll show you an example on getting from last (after the first turn) to first in less than 2 min. and 30 sec.

Reason I said I will follow an 8.10 pace is because that will be relatively fast. I've already got my personal best down to 8.05.229 .

Ok who do we report bugs too? because this is funny.... went into indy qm and the car would NOT TURN LEFT..bwhahahaha. left went back in everything is normal... ROFL

All bug reports need to be sent by hand written letter to S. Claus, North Pole. There's a better chance of him fixing it than Polyphony Digital.

Had a weird bug in the Mazda race as well tonight. The time limit (when race finishes) kept starting when I was still going down the long left hander. Pretty odd seeing as I was in the lead with only one other person in the race 15 seconds behind me.

If it was an invisible driver on track though, I don't want to race them. They were doing 5:10 total times...:nervous:

Santa with FB? :yuck: Credit the guy with some taste. Try Twitter.

I'm sure it would be a glitch...if there was an actual driver doing it. As I said, I was leading in a two car race. The invisible driver comment was supposed to be a joke as I was running sub 5:40s and only had a few seconds of the timer left when I crossed the line. The poor guy in 2nd couldn't put a time up in the four races I ran with him because of it.

I don't think it was an actual bug as I've never seen it before. Just a quick match anomaly triggered by other races.

one glitch I get REGULARLY is sometimes I`m the passenger,go out for practice and someone else is driving the car:odd:

only lasts for about 20 to 30secs then I get kicked off

You can look for that as soon as you join a room. Hit warm up straight away and if you can't drive, save yourself some time and quit before you get disconnected. The room hasn't loaded properly. That bug often goes hand in hand with seeing gaps in the driver list appear as you go down the pit lane so you don't actually have to drive the full length of it either. If a driver disappears, try connecting again and save some time and frustration.

Off topic but handy. One little tip I've only just noticed in the last couple of days is for when you're in a room that isn't to your liking. Maybe too quick a room, everyone is driving like Mad Max or there's someone you really don't want to race against. We've all got a list of those people stored in our heads... Start the race and quit after a few seconds but don't hit exit on the next screen. Leave it a few seconds and it will automatically reconnect to another race. You don't get a warm up button on the next race (just the timer) but you get a solid connection. Comes in handy when you're race hopping to find drivers your own pace.

Had some fun with the 205 Turbo, fun at 500pp, drifting a little, but not too crazy. Won 4 of 5 races but only was running 4:45-4:46's. Best of 1:11.35x.

Might try the GT40 next, should Handle good detuned.

I really felt for that guy in the Benz that got the invisible hand of God just after entering the nordschleife @ 1:52 or so  Shame on you, PD! And yeow, 8:05 is quick :boggled: I don't think I could come near that with a clean start and a small room, though I've never had either so far.

I did a few rounds of the roadster QM with the supercharger plus some ballast. All of my most skilled opponents were running lighter tunes so my earlier braking was killing me. I felt like one of those jerk tractor trailer drivers that pass you going down the hill then crawl up the next hill over and over. I couldn't get much lower than 1:23.5 but I was able to maintain consistency.

Has there ever been a kart QM? There really should be one, bring your own of course.

Brands hatch today 👍👍

Fun races with the 2J and the hibride. Make a couple friends. Give them advice and a lot of fun races. There was a nice guy using that long race car(forget the name, union or something) So fun . Not fast but he trying it.

If you want clean fast races: Go to the Hatch

I've been in quick matches all day, and I've noticed a few cars that seem weird. I think theres a glitch or something, because these cars are crazy fast yet uncontrollable. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

It sounds like lag if they're flying all over the place leaving smoke and carnage everywhere.

The server hasn't got a clue where to put them on track due to the lag so it guesses. Badly.

Had some good success with the GT40 1966! Not a rocket, but not a prototype or GSXR either. Ran some 1:11.xxx laps and a total times about 3:41.xxx and it's fun to drive, pretty hooked up, steers well.

I did move some ballast forward, stiffen the sway bars and remove the camber.

Easy to explain, HYBRIDS. I've been one of the first to carck GT1 and did the same for the other GT version.
Before everyone jump on me, I'm not building, using or sharing my knowledge.

At that time, my goal was to make undrivable cars (for me) easier to drive.
It's possible to make everybody car you drive faster, even in the license.
The key is not to modify the car but the game. Don't ask, I'll never give answer for this, too much idiots will destroy the game.

Now I don't need any kind of cheating, or someone else tune, I love to jump on those hard to drive cars and make them a charm to drive. It's hard to explain how much I love to be in the top 200 in time trials.

They key is simple, make minors tuning change one at the time and test it.
After some time you'll know almost exactly what you have to do on every car as soon as you drive them for the first time.

Like I said, TUNE - TEST - PRACTICE!!!

Like you I love to drive the GT40 '66. Best I did was low 1:11

In the Roma event, many cars are able to go in the 1:10.
GSR-R/4, Miura, M3 GSR, Elise 111R

Did try to get the best of the MGF '97, my best time 1:11.8xx

Alas it's always the same story in those quick match. You get tire of winning to easily, so you pick a slower car and you meet FINALLY a fast driver. You go back to pick a faster car and try to find that driver, too bad he's gone... grrrr!

Or you win a race by not mutch and the other drivers have one goal, kick you out every way they can. Did a few races where I start from the 14th place and got slam about ten times in the first lap... reGrrrr!!!

I have done 1:09's with the Miura and GSXR and 1:10's with the Elise, but I have yet to try the M3 GSR....ill do that right now. :)

Lagging Rammer Shows Us How It Is Done Without Penalty.

*facepalm*

In other news, the continual loading issues with Nurb GT3 have gone! By fixing the game? No! They've replaced it with 3 laps at Silverstone for prototype courtesy cars. Great!

Yes. Except for one thing. The courtesy seems to be that PD have set up the LSD of the TS030 perfectly for a drift trial and covered the track in black ice.

464pp Mazda Touring Cars is where I find the best racers. After telling a few of them off, the bad ones either clean up their act or leave the room. When players clearly have a slow/standard tune, I let them pass me back and then try overtaking in a different place each time. Really educational!

Or you could switch to a terrible ISP, saturate your connection with P2P file sharing, join rooms full of people on the far side of the world and ram them all off the track without receiving any penalty because you are so badly out of sync. Then upload the video to YouTube to show everyone how to play Quick Match. The choice is yours!

Well, best I could muster (using my alias) with the M3 GTR was a 1:12.1xx. Total time best was 3:43.xxx. Drives well, handles good. A little light on traction off corners when the steering and stiffer sway bars are dialed up.

I did have a Canadian driver who drove an out of control HSC and made tons of mistakes, decide to wait for the leaders on the next lap after he crashed, which was often. He cost me one race, but the very next race Inghosted thru him and went on to a huge win, because all the cars behind me did not ghost thru him.

Frustrating and hysterical at the same time when I attempted to ghost, not being sure it would work because it was in the tight left turn high speed chicane. I pictured his head exploding when it worked and was laughing so hard I could hardly finish the lap.

Felt like the right time to leave the room.

Silverstone Prototype Race Car Battle / International
Just had 10-20 races, most really fun, doing the new event. 908 is a pretty easy drive (and looks ace) but my new favourite courtesy car is the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO 2015.

Yes, this crazy FF with nearly 3x the front downforce of the other cars flies around the high speed parts of Silverstone!

Using TCS:1 makes it the most drivable car for me with DS3 in this event. Need to kill the speed in the slow corners. Be super patient before driving off them.

Race Reports
5m46.359 Many overtakes, beat a 908!
(one before) My fastest race win with a 1m50.x lap.
5:42.228 1m50.3s! Waited until last from grid and overtook the field up to 4th, within 2 seconds of podium.
5m48.646 4th for me, @TRL_MAXPOWER (Japan) won 5m27.4 using TS030 and a 1m47s lap!
5m38.263 My fastest race time! My best with 908 was 5m40.986s.
5m39.729 2nd to TRL_MAXPOWER won from way back, 5m32.156 (message me "yes clean race")
Much later 1m50.38x that's the best lap I can do. TRL_MAXPOWER won, now in 908HDi FAP - Team Peugeot Total.

@lupogtr16 also did well with TS030. So I think it's a good choice for expert pedal users. 👍

Best I did with the Miura was 1:11.1 you did 1:10, same with the Elise. Wow!!
I'm not one of the fastest driver, so I know if I can pull a low 1:11 with a car, a good driver can do 1:10.

Did a 1:11.3 with the M3 GSR and would love to know what you could do with the Lambo LP400, did 1:11.4 with it.

Thanks in advance :)

Silverstone is one of my favourite tracks but the prototypes scare the crap out of me with my clumsy accelerator control. I'll have to give it a go though as I can't hide from the prototypes for ever.:nervous:

I've raced MAXPOWER a few times at the Bathurst quick match and he ran the lowest lap I saw out of anybody there. A 2:00.2 I think it was. I got a PB in one of the races against him though! 17.5 seconds behind him on the total time... *cough*

I had to watch the replay a few times before I had the nerve to open my eyes as he went through the Esses and Dipper. It was like watching an onboard shot of a TT rider. Massive confidence and talent.

Now I miss Nurburgring.

This one is fun.
Got a 5:24.941 with laps - 1:51.601
1:46.705
1:46.635

TS030 is king.

1:46 is a seriously good lap time. Better than MAXPOWER.👍

Silverstone was an experience in the prototypes for me. Lots of people making their own tracks and having to dodge them coming back on the track in weird places cost me a lot of time. The best I could do was a 1:53 in the R18 and that put me in the mix with all of the other strugglers. Hard work.

I managed to keep it on the track but I was steering looking through the side windows for most of it. Tried TC1 and that stabilised me a bit out of the corners but I was getting a lot of snap oversteer and that made me very nervous. I didn't feel confident at all going wheel to wheel with people and the times I did, there was lots of ghosting going on and very off putting.

I'll give it another go with another car some other time but I think mid pack is the best I'll manage in those cars.

I knew there was a reason I avoided prototypes. It's very easy to run out of talent in them.
