Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

I Agree with you about the RX 8. It is a great car and has great speed. However it needs suspension tuning. Do you have a suspension tune for this car?

Yes, see Post #491 - page 17

I love when a car is sliding, if it's too much for you, lower the car height.
If the rear want to overtake the front :) set the drivetrain to 10/12/20.

Never heard about something like that. I think is comical ridiculous, considering how poor the game servers connection is, especially during the weekends.

When I tried to play online I got this message: "You cannot go further without signing into PlayStation Network."
So I did exit GT6 and tried to connect and got a message: ERROR ID:xxx (don't remember te numbers).
Did check on my PC and the explanation was: Account banned!

Ban for what??? Did some research on the net to find a solution to fix that error. Nothing can be done. I couldn't believe it. And like I said, the day after everything went back to normal.

I know I clock faster laptimes in arcade mode, than online Time Trials, even matching the online track conditions offline arcade mode is faster, also I have experienced the "server mud" i think more than anyone else,I`m more out in rural usa and have the slowest connection speed, and sometimes it feels like you literally drive through a spot of mud online track, not all the time only when the server is really busy.
when only a few cars are in qm I can get some decent laptimes but when the room is full I`m lucky to just keep up in the back places.

Don't forget to check the driving aids when you enter a room. That's the first thing I check.
Some room have SRF on and some off. With SRF on, I'm more than a second slower.

Someone said in real life drivers force their way to the front i think he was talking about banger racing lol he needs to watch F1

Did you watch last weeks F1..
Kvyat stuffed his RB way up inside Vettel, who then had a panic attack and crashed into his team-mate.
He then went onto have a little cry on the radio (as usual) and again in the Pre-Podium waiting room.

Verstappen shows how it should be :P

yep first thing i do,sometimes online I have to turn up traction control some rooms tracks have less grip.

I don't know why you would be slower with SRF on when it is noticeably faster than with it off.:odd:

You mean a second or two faster.

Skid Recovery Force does nothing other than make your car slide less than it normally would whenever you lose traction. A function for beginners.

If you drive the car perfectly, no need to have SRF. If your car lose traction, you are pushing too hard on cornering and accelerating. And SRF help you to correct the mistake. A mistake is always a lost of time in racing.

I've tried SRF on and off. And yes, I'm faster when it's off. When it's ON, I feel like I'm sitting in a self-control car.

Most of the people are faster when it's ON, and to be honest, that's great for them. It level the competition.
That's my personal point of view, no offense ;)

The SRF debate rages on...

Please don't get me wrong. I have nothing against SRF.

If with SRF on, the car is easier to drive and you are doing faster laptime, use it.
The main goal when playing is to have fun. More fun when using it, go ahead, enjoy the game.

There is no way that SRF is faster with it off.

Good fun tonight... adjusting the car on the fly between races in the last few.. when i could get clear of traffic i got a few 1.11 laptimes still need to tune it as I'm losing time losing grip accelerating out of the cprner but i saw a friend do a 1.08.720 tonight..wow.

This is where we differ, I absolutely despise SRF as it is the only unrealistic driving aid in the game and therefore I refuse to use it. This is my choice and I don't tell people how to play the game but if SRF is on then I'm out. I do agree the goal is to have fun, but my fun is taking a dive in Quick Match because of SRF being used inappropriately and sometimes inadvertently.

I also do not know how you can think someone having an unfair advantage like using SRF is ''leveling the competition''. This would only be true if only the slower drivers had it, similar to the ''Boost'' function but fast people are using it aswell.

I never use SRF, lol. I tried it because of the raging debate to see what I thought.

Took the Elise's to Roma tonight. Apparently the few people in the few rooms(2-3 per) I got into with a good connection don't like to lose. Had 6 people in three straight rooms bail after each race. Ended up alone after every one of the three races. haha

Last attempt it was all laggy and nasty, smoking cars, etc. then it froze on the black screen last attempt... done for tonight.

You do realize that's a contradiction of terms? If you're driving (SRF off) perfectly, you're right on the edge of the tires adhesion for your fastest lap. Add in SRF, you have a higher grip threshold in the corners, can carry more speed and run noticeably quicker times.

You can't have more artificial mechanical grip and run slower. It doesn't make sense.

Who gives a ****? only WINNING tells. AS on or AS off. SRF on SRF off..... forget it i want to win :P:tup::gtpflag:

Winning the race not must be fun but very frustrating, Then you become a better driver. Same with the tt's. push it to the max.

Dont forget the

Running 1.10.xxx at Roma tonight (previous best 1.12.xx), and then 1.22.xxx at the Cape (previous best 1.24.xxx) - for the first time ever, I got the SRF stuck on glitch!

What a big difference it makes. Wonder what the guy who was running 1.08s at Roma had stuck on (the speed that he kept passing me at, it looked like it must have been racing softs!)

Trouble was, the SRF was off in later rooms, and it took ages to get used to the car again!

AS on or off is not an issue at all. SRF unfortunately is a big issue. Like in the TT's, SRF is supposed to be forced off in Quick Match, problem is that it isn't for everyone. You only have to read the post above this one to realize we are not all on a level playing field. Frustration doesn't come from losing in a good fair battle, but losing to the person who is unknowingly or worse, knowingly using an aid that should not be in play.

I agree. Whilst it made a change to be the one with SRF tonight, instead of racing against others with it when I haven't had it, it does make you realise what an unfair advantage it gives. We definitely should all be on a level playing field.

I give a ****. It's cheating, plain and simple.

If you see it on (click your driving options before you run a race to check), you're adding to the problem. Leave and find a race with it turned off.

Run the race how it's supposed to be for everyone.

Then i not understand it good enouch, I just wanted to say: If you you can put something on or off its not cheating. I understand it better now. But how do they put it on or of if PD does not want it? Have they codes?(the cheaters).

It's comes on at random. When you enter the current QMs it says that SRF is off, but sometimes it is on, and the option to turn it off is greyed out. The only way you can clear it is to leave the room, and then re-enter.

I may have worded that post too harshly and I'm sorry about that. I call it cheating because if the quick match is meant to have it turned off by default, it should be run as such. A quick check of the driving options (before your first race starts) tells you whether you will have an unfair advantage in the race or not. I'm at least 2 seconds a lap quicker with it turned on and that gives you an idea of how strong an effect it has. For the record, I tested it offline as I barely ever see it turned on online.

Anyway, it got reported 2 weeks ago and they tried to fix it (possibly during server maintenance on the 18th) but they didn't do a full fix. It's a lot better but it isn't perfect and I won't go into details on how it's done.

I'll get in touch with the person who reported it for @FPV MIC and let him know it still needs work. PD obviously take it seriously with how quick they tried to fix it so hopefully a full fix won't take too long.
