Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

Sorry to say, I tried a few of the GT500 races, reluctantly after seeing every QM is courtesy cars. I hate using traction AIDS, but with the DS3 it would take a TON of time to get dialed in otherwise with those cars and no tuning possible.

Instead I went into the seasonals and found I dropped to 860 and 813....so now I'm 518 and 379th. Both cars felt like there is more in them for me. As required.

But the QM's, IMO, boo.

I don't mind the courtesy cars with the GT500s as they're a lot closer in performance than the GT3s. The lexus is a fun alternative with unstable high speed cornering but I've got to admit it, Fuji feels a bit sterile. Boring even. Maybe it's down to being familiar with the track.

Got down to the 31st for lap time and high 38s total but I was racing the clock for a couple of hours and wasn't much fun. Cracked the 37s (total) in the GT3S though so it wasn't too bad a night.

Why do they have the Senna F1 car actually released? Or the Formula GT? Make a nice quick match or TT with these cars. Stupid:odd:.

Senna cars are from the Senna events and they had a FGT quick match at Silverstone right around the F1 weekend. And a TT at Monaco I think, too.
Aha oke, I never see it(only in the Senna event). They must bring it back. Nice cars to drive.

We've had the FGT at Silverstone, TWICE.

That quick match was at Suzuka. Ik know it now. Drive a couple races.

Was at the same time you had the fuji quick match with the proto cars.

Are you sure?

I'm remember there being the GT500s @ Suzuka (because I raced it a couple of times) and was sure the FGTs were @ Monza at the same time, I think I tried it once and never went back.

4 months back there was a FGT quick match at Suzuka. The same time you got a Prototype race at Fuji(le mans cars).

Maybe before there where others but i have the game only 6 months.

Edit: Maybe later there was a Monza QM but they take it away after 1 week. I'm not sure about that. But the FGT qm at suzuka i drive it a couple times.

Yep, Was this one:

I had the game a month later. I think this qm stand to oktober, In that time they not give much new ones.

Maybe you're right, I don't check in on QMs that often and probably miss a lot of what comes up in there.

Here we are .. FGT @ Monza in September. 👍

I think we are both right. First you got it at monza and after at suzuka. I never drive it on monza because i not have the game at that time.

There was a WSR Senna TT around Madrid last year, I recall. Maybe even the year before?

Sad we have lost the custom Madza Touring Car race. Had a lot of fun there. Rome was cool if you got a room of experienced drivers using unusual cars.
It is a shame re Mazda race, and Rome - lots of people missing them if the drop off in posts here is anything to go by!

I've always struggled at Spa, but seem to have a handle on it with the sports cars, particularly the TS030. Some ridiculously fast drivers on there at times though, but it is one of those events where handling, and hence speed, can vary tremendously from room to room, and even from race to race.

12 second difference in three laps?

Never ever saw SRF forced on at Spa. Done dozens of different rooms.

Yup! Because of the high speed corners where you need to brake earlier and get back on the throttle much later. Regular laps at 2:06.xxx. Also the wheel spin (without SRF) on the high G force turns makes me more cautious with the acceleration.

Maybe they should rename SRF to "driver compensator". Glad it's never been forced on for me.

Nonetheless, there's some seriously poor drivers, be it race craft or just plain old driving, at Spa. I'd like to think they have no idea what they're doing or I go into a Vettel-esq bunch of swearing.

It is the "on"/"off" Skid Recovery Force. I don't think that parameter is for the whole room though. I got a 6:08.788 (laps 2"04.354 - 2:02.467 - 2:01.967) with SRF on, but only in the 6:20's with SRF off.
I think that sometimes when it says SRF is on, it's off, and sometimes when it says it's off it's on.

lol

I've only noticed it off on my end and the grip never feels any different. Still get the TSO30 around in about 2:03 range with no difference in grip from race to race. The racecraft and the pace of some of these drivers in the Spa race is appalling. I don't know if it's when I go on but I kept on only getting lobbies where I'd win by 12 seconds every time no matter where I started on the grid, even when getting rammed at every opportunity. I just wish I could see the look on the faces of the dirty and usually untalented drivers who ram me off, only to see me in their mirrors just a few corner later anyway.

Side note, the GTR is just not working out for me, woeful in the slow stuff, handles like a dragster. The Toyota is my favorite as it gives you a neat little boost out of the corner to help in overtaking, especially on the run up to Eau Rouge, and feels the most driveable overall.

I've never seen SRF on during my racing there.

I like driving the sedans best though, even though there are some sketchy drivers, I've found a couple of dozen good drivers too.

Mercedes is fastest in the straights, Nissan overall and BMW in the turns(for me). Haven't tried the Audi or Vette yet.

My garage is sad, seasonals were all too easy, 1 and done for each. Glad to have the Toyota handy, already close. Just removed a little steering and added rear down force for Nurb in the rain. 8:21 total time. Didn't even feel like a wet track using full wet tires.

I've never done any online racing in GT, just got on QM last night for kicks. It's not too bad IMO, if you get a good start and manage to stay out of trouble the top drivers are usually pretty courteous.

What frustrates me is we can't change our cars once we're matched. Whose bright idea is this? You have to exit all the way, pick another car, and try to match again (which fails half the time). What a massive waste of time.

i like try all ave. before going on the track with
it. like all race it not how fast you are or how slow you are win is win.

Is it possible to cheat in these races? Just had a race at Fuji where a guy went backwards at the start (thankfully he ghosted and didn't crash anyone out). I was leading by 5 secs then he started coming back by 2 secs a lap. I saw him in my rear view driving all over the track (going off course at every corner), but still gaining quickly. I got hit at the hairpin (to be expected) and he just zoomed off into the distance. My laptimes were in the 1.32.xxx range and his was in the 1.30.xxx.

It sounds like lag if he was running 1:30s and regularly going off the track. It's the first time I've heard of someone lagging and running good lap times though so it's a weird one.

I've been having a problem with the Monza QM where it seems like I'm running two races at once. Dodging cars I can see and getting battered by invisible cars punting me off track. At first I thought my controller was faulty but it only does it on the quick matches.

I have pretty much given up on the quick matches cause I spend as much time loading or getting kicked out as I do racing. And when I am racing I get punted by the invisible drivers as well. It's frustrating because in some ways I prefer the quick matches derby dash style to an open lobby with mics and expectations.
