Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

Ok the ramming penaltys in Rally are ridiculous,I`m not getting them much, but I do feel sorry for the guys behind me over cooking speed into the corner...
and for those lurkers reading,Brake early turn early and exit early that is the key to a fast lap time, over cooking and hoping the wall will stop you and then you accelerate will not get a decent lap time, and remember brake in a separate line than the car in front of you,so you can avoid the ramming penalty.
a 1.51-1.52 lap time is easy if you brake early turn early and accelerate EASY early, after you get lined up then hard on the gas.

On what underground is this qm? gravel? Then i'm stay out. I make chaos there:lol:

I don't think there's much chance of them fixing it now, as all their resources are probably tied up with the GT Sport beta. All I can say is we gave getting it fixed our best shot and thanks again for all your help:cheers:. I have no interest in QM anymore, so no interest in saying how to do it, but if you choose to reveal how simple it is to increase the chances of activating SRF (hint), then that's okay by me:)👍. It's one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't situations (purists vs fair play).

For me, it was good while it lasted (sometimes great) but RIP Quick Match.

Edit: I've moved on to testing for the FITT guys, fair and great fun:tup:.

It's been killing me trying to work out what to do for the best. I'm going to make a thread about it and ask more people for an opinion.

I've got a feeling there's not to many of us purists involved in QM's, so at a guess, I would think revealing it would win out.

Or PD could just fix it:banghead:

Done the thread here.

Even though I'm prepared to gamble my quick matches (I'm desperate) to hopefully see a fix, other people might want it to stay as it is. PD might ignore it and that'll be expert level quick matches ruined. Too big for me to make a decision on my own.

Touring cars at the redd bull ring is pretty fun.
Ok this is fun. i can't win with my slow connection but its still fun OMG the merc is a dog dog dog..... could only get a 1.35a. With it lol....at least got a 131 with the audi's.

Great times were had the last couple of days in rally Qm.... saw a 1.41 ran and I got a personal best of 1:43!!!!! Once......only won a couple of times but
what fun times were had in the dirt!

The long cutting on the Red Bull Ring is a pain in the arse when you get people who've been practising it at turn one. You can't block them coming back on either. They just ghost through you with their well rehearsed rally cross excursion and have a run on you every time. Why they do it on the last corner though is beyond me. You've got that much grip and aero you can take the last corner easily on a fast line and at least match their pace on the exit. Numpties.

I've been enjoying the rally event too, it has a great way of evening things up a bit - the natural temptation for the following cars is to overdrive in an attempt to catch the leader up, which then makes them even slower! Even the regularly fast drivers can be beaten.

I can get down to 1.41 occasionally, and managed to win one race in 5.08! But the best feeling I got was when I ran two consecutive laps in an identical time - very rare I suspect on this track.....

Only tried it once, and then remembered that this was the reason I didn't like it before!

yea the short laps and times seem to attract the worst of the worst, hackers, cheaters, rammers, blockers, brake checkers, some good racing is there but its off peak times,I guess when the kiddos go to bed...lol...yea I don`t know how but I saw more than a few 126 laptimes from a group of 3drivers at the same time,I can get lucky and get a 132 but mostly I struggle to run in the 133s, if I can get a clean lap....

only managed to get into the nurb qm ONCE.... had to wait for 25minutes to get in and spun out 3 times and had to play catch up,i guess I picked the wrong car... lol.

yea thats it,I have ran into quite a few courteous drivers in rally, quite a few,sat I was in there for 4 freaking hours just running drivers who were great to run with.
on a ROFL note I saw a few of the "usual suspects" from the other qm`s come in and get "schooled" they don`t stay long if even a couple of laps let alone more than one race.
with my slow connection with the dirt,it really does equal out to a extent the fast internet connections where people with slower connections or don`t have a wheel setup and are on ds3 have at least a shot at being competitive. 👍
Had a great time running a driver from japan sunday(3 hours I guess),who had a wheel setup and a 140 laptime once... wow RESPECT... but at least I was only a sec down on him most of the time and if one mistake I could pounce and run right along with that driver. :D

Yep the hacks got me good tonight.... I won't post openly what the did but I got half of what they did figured out....

You have accused people of being hackers many times. You need to show proof or stop with the accusations.

And. Could. You post where I have accused someone.... I think you have me confused with someone else but if someone could give me instructions on how to post the replay i saved it....

I should not have used the words "many times". I thought there had been more posts that you mentioned hackers. I apologize. However, you have clearly said that there are people that are hackers. That sure sounds like an accusation to me.
You can not post a replay directly from the game. I think you need to use a video capture device.
Why don't you just explain what you think these hackers are doing?

OK I've see this quite a few times but they don't race the just flash from standing still to magically appear right in front of you... I'll pm you with some pics from phone where nooneis around then poor there they are..... hacks or wizards????

I see what you are saying. You have said that you have a slow internet connection. I am almost positive that you experiencing lag. This causes the other cars to appear all over the place when you are racing. Maybe someone could explain this a lot better than me. Bottom line is, I don't think you are dealing with hacks or wizards.:)

I pm`ed you the screen capture pics so you can see for yourself...
this time I remembered to press save...

OK so its been explained to me that its the worse case of Lag I and others have ever seen, and not hackers...
but its the strangest thing I have encountered so far... :odd: whats next Aliens from another server appear on track? :scared:

Toscana is fun, I'm not having connection issues or getting much rough driving. Seems easier to lose the drivers that struggle on asphalt when you're racing on dirt. ;)

It's boring if no good drivers show up, winning and not having anyone else finish ain't much fun, other than trying for personal best laps.

So far I've gotten a 1:41.3xx and a best total of 5:11.4xx. 1:42's seem like a solid lap though.

The white Mitsubishi super rally is by far the fastest car for me. Far more traction than the others.

I had some great races on the RBR last night.
Yes, typically the elbow-lickers were doing their best at driving everywhere but the track,
but I was lapping consistent, clean (on-road) low 1:32's and even cracked a 1:31

It's easy enough to lap around them as they're dive-bombing the corners from the inside,
if you maintain a late/wide-in, tight-out racing line you're faster than 99% of them anyway.
50% of them spin out on the astro-turf next to the kerbs, the other half lose it on the grass.

Every now and then someone will tag you and push you off, just relax, find your rhythm again and you usually end up back at the front without too much hassle

PD need to spend a little more time modelling the "marbles" that exist off the racing line, and definitely off the track
they're less grippy than wet grass, especially on Racing Tyres

Thought I'd give the rallying a go and the best I could get in the SX4 and C4 was a 1:50. Cut every corner and thought I was keeping the momentum up but then I watched a replay of someone who'd done 5:22 in the Mitsubishi. Oh dear. My rallying technique genuinely sucks.

Back to tarmac I go.

The old chestnut of internet speed crops up again at Toscana. First room I was in last night, the best race time I could run (and I was winning races) was 5.22 - as soon as a US based driver left race time fell to sub-5.10.......

There was a very definite change in the grip levels, making lap times much faster.

I started in a reasonably full race with about 9 or 10 drivers and got a 1:50. The winner ran a 22, most people left and there was only 3 of us for the next race but I still ran a 1:50 while the winner ran another 22. Swapped from the C4 to the SX4 and ran the same time. I was doing plenty of overtaking but nothing to write home about as they were driving pretty bad. Sadly, I can't use differing grip levels to explain why I was so slow.

Have you used any of the other cars, and if you have, what sort of times were you running compared to the Mitsubishi?

The BoP seems way off with the Evo compared to the two cars I drove. I know it's the heaviest but they seem to have overcompensated for it and made it too quick.

I've been using the Mitsubishi Super Rally recently, having been thrashed so many times by it! It's not the most obvious choice, but it's definitely the fastest - certainly the easiest car to keep pointing in the right direction.

I had used the Subaru WRC 08, which has the potential to be very fast, but it seems to like to spend it's time on track at 90° to the direction of travel!
