Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

It (SRF) can be turned on for all of the quick matches and unless the Japanese guy was an alien skill driver, that's an SRF time. I set up a spare account with SRF turned on to see what the SRFers lap times were and 1.56 wasn't too hard to run. 1.58 without SRF. Mid 03's for Midfield with SRF on and 1.04.7-1.05 without. I haven't tested the touring cars with it turned on so can't say what the lap times are.

It's kind of funny (in a tragic way) when I come up against some of the regulars I normally have close races with who magically start to gap me the following night. I just leave. I can't compete against SRF.

Then there you go, thanks for confirming that. When I watched the replay of the race to see how he was driving so quickly, his braking points were so much later than mine and I knew something had to be up.

Oh, maybe that's my problem. I have two accounts, so I bet that one of them has SRF is turned on. I know you can turn it off in driving options before a carreer mode race, but do I just go into arcade mode and disable it, and it will turn it off in the QM?

I never use arcade mode so haven't tested turning it on from there. If you see it turned on in career mode after using it in arcade though, turning it off will turn it off in the quick match.

My pleasure. I tried (in vain) to get it fixed and made the problem even more widespread that it already was but at least you have the option to fight fire with fire and use it as well.

Sometimes I think if I can't beat them, join them, but a single race with SRF transforms the driving feel for the worse for me. I'd rather run mid pack and enjoy my driving rather than win and hate every second. I make a point of sending a message to the SRFers who run silly lap times though. Nothing nasty. Just a "do you really need SRF?" to try and make them feel guilty.:mischievous:

I found something interesting about SRF. after going into the QM I go to the driving option and the SFR is off. I turn off the option and go back into the options again and the SRF is on.

Well, that SRF deal does work. Made me feel like an alien. Best lap 1:57.206.

Few more glitches at Rome. Problems with server connection drop last couple of days but eventually got some races done.
Finished 3rd in one race about 3 secs behind 2 guys running 3.29/3 30. Results board put me 1st and they both got DNF. Bonus for my credits but not nice for them.
Another race where pos 2 driver made contact with me in pos 1 at left kink before 1st right. His car faded then took off like an exocet straight into the wall. Crazy!!!!

I had a couple of failed matchings last night, and had to wait 3 minutes in pre race with no warm up before the GT500.
But one I was in there are no issues.

I don't have the time to do open lobby racing or league racing.
I just hope that GTS has this style of casual match racing, but without the bugs.
That is pretty ideal for me.

Well, that's news. I do a cursory check (for an SRF run) when I go into the options and if it's turned off, I retry for a race with it on. If what you say is right and it works every time, you could have SRF turned on permanently. I'll have to check that out tonight.👍

"do you really need SRF?

:D

Turning SRF on for a race is good for info on what lap times you can run (forewarned is forearmed) but it's so blatantly obvious on glitch usage when you run race after race with it. There's hardly ever any top skill drivers in quick matches so you end up with a two class race with SRF on and off users. Battling for first with SRF turned on and an honourary first without.

Nobody likes the Monaco QM????

One thing: With slippy on i destroy it, With it off is win almost everytime but its harder.

With on i drive 1:41 laps, Whith off 1:46.

@Kossie should know that, since he's a Verstappen fan. Maybe he took notes how to smash into people there.

A CLEAN one or two passes usually takes way more than a few laps of pressure, and hoping the other guy finally caves. I love Monaco for hot laps, but it's terrible to race on.

Monaco is fun when you get clean racers. Only real thing I've seen to complain about is the lack of participants. I've not had a race with more than 6 people yet.

#ouch# Rosberg #kuch#:lol::P

Monaco Rally race cars push so badly it's crazy. The Puegot handles ok, but it's a slug in the straights. Have to use the Suby and just pop open a beer to sip thru each turn while you wait for it to come around.

The GT race at Midfield is my favorite so far. Even though the touring car race is fun, hacking is too easy on that track and there is LOTS of it. At least at Midfield you can pass when 80% of the drivers slide out of the turns overdriving them.

The monaco race would be good if the cars had realistic tyres on them and an alignment without all that rear toe.
Those care are lose in real life and should lift-off oversteer easily, making it a fun race.
They just won;t turn, thanks to too much grip in the rear and a rubbish algnment

Well I have a weird one. Just went to enter the Touring Cars at Rome and low and behold ended up racing touring cars at Midfield. Totally not ready for that one. The drivers racing were horrible and somehow trying to do clean passes on them they would tap you. Then you would get at minimum 5 second penalties... it was kinda funny really.

Haven't watched it yet! Don't spoil it!

Oh oke sorry. Why you dont watch it live? You are in Amerika? So thats 6 hours before here(9 a clock in the morning) Or cant you get it live there?? Or you must work and take it on tape to see it later?
You see it? Mwah it was not a big spoiler :P

On topic: Why a turning Midfield? What is that all about:boggled::banghead:

That's nuts. I've seen everything now.

It happened more then once last night. Pretty crazy. It was fun running the Touring Cars at Midfield though :-)
But what is the real midfield? This turning on track or the TT track? I tought: Yes a midfield QM ! Go to the track and you drive the wrong way :P

It flows just as well either way but I prefer the reversed. The last turn on the forward track turns into a monster on the reverse and is probably my favourite corner in the whole game.

Couldn;t get a decent race at Midfield last night.
Loaded easy, Full Grids
The other drivers weren't dirty, just bad.
So Figured I'd use it as a good session to really push the car at 11/10ths
It showed me where I can really make up some time on that track.

It's actually a ton of fun backwards Kossie, give it a try! Just takes a little getting used to...oh and braking at the end of the straight so you don't fly into the rock wall! :)

Last night I tried the arcade mode SRF on thing, to see if it mattered. Went a second a lap faster, but guess what...got beat by a guy running a second a lap faster than me! He had the Honda, I was trying the Nissan for the first time. Lots of power but it pushes like a dump truck on entry. I like the Honda better.

My best lap was a 1.04:7, best total a 3.19....the guy who beat me ran a 1.03 and 3.17!!! He passed me in the turns btw. :(

I hate the SRF on, but it was a test...it's off for good now.

I've seen people running regular 3:15s with a couple of runs even lower than that... The best I've done is a 1.05 and a 3.21.1 and left way behind. It's not like you even have a drafters chance when they can break the tow in the corners.

As soon as I see those daft lap and overall times, I stop battling against them. I let them pass and try and grind them into boredom by refusing to race them but then at least I get the decent non SRFers to race against for the other places.

Well... I train a bit on the ''wrong'' midfield and its not so bad. It need a bit practice but i learn the track. Give me a half year and i can win a race :gtpflag:
