Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

Well nice tune mate @Kim Nielsen .... a 2.07.XXX after 2h of practice
Nice track and if i m right u need a galon of LAGA to stay in the black stuff ..... a aussie trick
As an Aussie, I can confirm you're theory :dopey:

I still remember like it was yesterday the outrage at new rules for camping at the Bathurst 1000 that were brought in 2009. Only one carton of beer per person per day :crazy::(:boggled::banghead: Totally un-Australian

After testing for about 30 min in free run I've been doing three races with the Megane at Bathurst.
The tune I use is from that Brands Hatch QM, I had to make small changes but it's ok now and it's
very close to the tunes @Kim Nielsen and @FPV MIC use, I think. I'm not really pleased with the car's
behaviour, but decided I'd rather adapt to the twitchy car than to change a fast tune. I'm not very
consistent yet but PB is 2.05.4xx, so I'm happy :).

@ColinChapman
I like tuner events and using my own car. Would be great to meet you ( and everyone of you guys )
at Bathurst or Monaco.

Great time:eek:, very fast:tup:

I lost a stone getting my best times down to the mid 6's in the 15th Anniversary Megane. It really doesn't like getting over driven so if I can rein in the enthusiasm, (yeah right...) I should be able to knock on the 5's door.

(More likely, I'll stick with mid 6's. That push for a couple more percent in the lap often leaves a slap mark on the wall or my tire's tread running through the gravel traps.:D)

Had to give the Mazda a go as well but for the life of me, I can't remember my times. Good fun though. Not as intense as with higher powered cars on a street circuit so you can mess with your lines a bit.

Ballast works as well. The extra power really comes in handy but I found 100KG's to be about my limit. Too many slides when I went over that. It could probably take more weight if you're smooth enough but I didn't test it enough for the hill and slow corners...Bathurst was shouting me back...

So tired yesterday I didn't come looking for you guys and only did a handful of laps at the Apricot Hill Seasonal then passed out. Hope to not work another 11 hour day today so hopefully I won't be so tired and see you guys out there. Nevermind it's day 12 in a row of working. Getting up this early is taking its toll. Good part is I'm already in overtime, and I got today and tomorrow yet to go.

I did a 2.06.5 in this Base Model

2.04.402

Edited a little after inspiration in this forum :)

This car are really a blast to drive,-and online people are miles away, lol.
I think the gear are a little too long,especially 1.st and 2.nd,but it´s just minor ajustment.I did
2.04.454 online,so the tune works fine online too.
AND NOW,I can use my T300RS with G29 Pedals, because of the adapter from https://www.ricmotech.com/product_p/rmt-t500w2g27p.htm
...mommy,I can actually feel the brakes now :))

I remember the grind only too well. So bad, I completely missed half of GT3 and all of GT4 because of it.

I hope the new job's going well though.

Thanks @Kim Nielsen for all your efforts on improving your setup and of course thanks for sharing it đź‘Ť.
It's indeed close to what I used, but the softer suspension and the harder LSD make the drive way smoother
and more enjoyable. Well, I buy your tune then :D.
Being in the 2.04 club now and grip of the QM track being a bit better than in Arcade imo plus our growing routine, I think 2.03 laps are ( really tough but ) not impossible.

Speaking about the pedals ... i m using a T150 with standart pedals a nightmare those pedals no feeling at all .... the T3PA are good or its the same quality and feeling but with a third pedal ??

Hello there folks. Been lurking around this thread since the last Trail Mountain QM trying to find out info about which cars people are using, tunes & general tips, that sort of thing. Saw Rocket Joe was a member here who I had already befriended (Damn fine racer & clean) & said earlier on I had been reading his & you guys posts. He suggested I join in & contribute so here I am.

My user name online is Sid_Neigh & if I've bumped into you or caused you to end up facing the wrong way in the kitty litter then I do apologize wholeheartedly. I try to be clean & fair. Only been playing online since about March I think but have been playing GT since it first came out on the PS1. Well that's enough about me.

It was on these pages I learned the awful truth. I had never heard of such a thing as the SRF glitch before, I never used the thing in the first place. If I can get away with it the only aid I use is ABS & if I have to a touch of TC. So I had to test this out for myself, so set up free run & did a bunch of laps 'till I was getting consistent lap times then turned SRF on...Bloody hellfire! Instantly faster lap times by quite a bit. So that's how some folks who I could see couldn't drive sheep were getting insane lap times. I put it down to a great tune & using a wheel. It all makes sense now.

Didn't do many of the Trail Mountain QMs as I got the right hump with all those pests who kept cutting the first corner chicane, kind of spoiled it for me. Been doing the Tsukuba QM mostly in a RX500 these last few days. Got a tune from here & fiddled around with it a bit. Using a DS3 on auto gears, the best I've got is a 1:03.6xx. Only once. Mostly low 1:04s or high 1:03s. Can keep up & sometimes beat the gixxers who are decent enough pilots unless of course they are employing the SRF glitch.

So anyway, hope to see you peeps on the race track for some quality racing soon.

Cheers
Sid

I raced you the other night but didn't know you were on GTPlanet. I was in the Dino with the rear wing. We had the jerk in the Schwimmwagen. You were a clean racer so I spent some time trying to race against you and ignore the VW. On my last race I spent my time just running into him so that the rest could race. I then lost connection.

Aye? What is yer handle? I'll return the favour mate.

I have the T3PA pedals, and I used them together with the wheel in WRC6,and they was just soooo good compare
to the default set.
BUT,the problem with the pedals is that they are way too soft. You can hardly feel any pressure,so it´s very
difficuld to know when the weels lock. The logitech G29 pedals are way harder, and they also have this "semi loadcell feature",because of the rubber inside the spring.
I know for sure that my next set of pedals will be something with loadcells.

I had to take the rubber block out of my G29 pedals, it was so hard that I couldn't apply full brakes - seems to be quite a common problem, there's even a video on YouTube showing you how to do it!

Tried the tune online - the online track doesn't appear to have as much grip as offline, so I kept spinning up the inside wheel on corner exit. Will need to tune that out, but I still won every race, fastest lap time was 2:07.08 :irked:

Going to give it a try, particularly now I've seen his latest lap time!
Yeah that's seriously fast, well done @Kim Nielsen đź‘Ť. I was too interested in checking the changes that I didn't notice at first, so thanks for pointing that out @bone_tone . I thought I was doing okay nearly getting down to @ROCKET JOE's earlier mid 2:05 times, guess I've still got more work to do .

And I have entered the 2:08 club, with a 2:08.008.....

I had a handful of races yesterday when @kilesa4568 joined in. Easily the class of the field ( well done! ) I got one win, somewhat due to collisons in the field behind me, and made it into the 2:08 club with a best of 2:08.083. I think I can pick up another second since my driving is so tentative, not being used to this car at all. 2:03-04 will be unobtanium for me. The DS3 and auto trans is definitely a hindrance.

@Kim Nielsen 's tune worked out well for me, I just added about 30 kilos at -50.

But man, this event wore me out. I was a 10/10ths the whole time!

Thanks Draggon. They were damn good races and very clean throughout. It's amazing how a little trust with your fellow drivers can send the quality of racing through the roof.

As for the lap times, we're in the same boat mate. I need a purple patch for mid 6's so 4's are way off my radar. Ah well. Can't beat them all.

That's what I get with some of my fastest laps and tweaking my tune back and forth. Do you know what lap times are achievable?

I've done a handful of races right now ( against a slow field ) and I had a clear track most of the time.
I still use my Tsukuba setup but it fits quite well. My driving still needs some tweaks though.
Best laptime I could achieve was 1.46.0xx, a run from P2 was 5.24.320.

I met one of our SRF specialists earlier : even with mediocre driving he had a 5.21 :yuck:.

I use my Tsukuba setup too, or mostly. Another thing is now I'm using the high turbo instead of the supercharger. Should I not be using either?
