Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

Definitely an SRF user. Very funny the other day at Bathurst, as 2 races in a row she went roaring off into the distance (in one race running a sub 2:04 lap!), and then went off the track....

Can anyone estimate what happened to that thread about someone hacking DF ( Online Racing section ) ?
Did it disappear because of 'Don't name and shame' ?

@FPV MIC
What's your assumption ?

Mods must have removed it (my post in that thread is gone from my history). At a guess I'd say because it was off topic for that section. Same fella has made these accusations before under 3 different profiles (and still is) in the FGT series forums. He gets all butt hurt because he can't keep up. One of my friends that races in the series rang me today and told me of his bad behavior (driving backwards) during their race meeting. Must be frustrating for them with this guy constantly trolling them.👎

For reference, first try out. Merc 1.39.5xx, 5.03.xxx overall if you guys try

Yes I run it every now and then.Usually choose the Z4 with brake balance adjustment to 5 7
Fastest lap is a 1'38.9 and 5.02,xxx overall.
Laptimes vary due to how many guys are on track.

It's a serious accusation and regarding circumstances it might look like trolling. Nevertheless he could be right.
Will there be an investigation in any form ?

It's definitely trolling when he deliberately forms new profiles with the sole intend of getting back in their series only to disrupt the racing.
I think if he had proof he would have produced it by now. He just quotes numbers that really don't mean anything without proper context. It's very easy to just post numbers and acuse someone. No investigation will happen as its not this forums place, rather a job for PD and Sony, as it's their rules that would be broken, and then only if it is reported to them. In this forum the onus is on him to prove his claims......or be banned...... again:crazy:

We probably should move to a private message if you want to know more.

No, that's perfectly ok. I'm new to Internet forums, so I've just been asking from interest.

Back on topic ? Yep ! 👍

If her time trial results are any gauge to go by, I guarantee she's a SRF hack.

You're all right about assenaV with the SRF but I wouldn't put too much emphasis on time trial results for how fast she really is/isn't. Some of us find them to be a chore rather than enjoyable.

Personally, I've not had any trouble with her but with the SRF, she always gets an easy pass from me anyway. I've seen what she's capable of though. Not pretty.

She's another of those who doesn't like it if she's not winning, and then sets about destroying everybody else's race.....

If you happen to give her a penalty, even if it's her fault, she then sends abusive messages. I'm told that she doesn't like it if you accuse her of being German either, as she's Belgian (easy to confuse the flags).

I'm like you, I just let her past - sure it makes her feel great.

I can't remember her ever wrecking one of my races but I've been witness to her shenanigans.

She actually started running interference for me at Trial Mountain so that I could get near the front but after I realized what she was doing, I wouldn't pass her when she was blocking them and stayed in position. Kept doing it though so I had to quit mid race a few times.

The lovely Ms. V is a conundrum. I've had a number of good, close races with her. She's even messaged me as such. Maybe she's related to Mr. Smelly Tires, you know, if you can't win, screw up everyone else's race. I've run across her for a couple years now, and never realized till recently that some of her skill comes from (s)Kid Recovery Farce.

Regarding her Bathurst 04.2 time mentioned earlier, I just ran a 04.67 after finally driving a nice line (rather than falling through it...) through The Chase. I imagine a really good driver with SRF could get that down another couple of seconds.

I was running low 5's all night and even got accused of using SRF. I love it when they say that.

Anyone doing the Mazda QM? I ran a couple (or 3) races earlier and started doing low 46's but I haven't met a fast driver there yet so I've no idea what to aim for.

If I'm eligible ... PB is 46.0, so you could aim for 45.9 maybe . I've as well only done a few races.
With that time you should clearly run ahead of the field ( if you don't get canned in ), most of them do
1.48 as best ... or slower of course 👍.

Maybe the bells are tolling for the GT6 servers. Managed to get into Bathurst QM , got to the grid, heard everyone drive away while my screen looked like

I got around turn one and crashed at turn 2. Top-down racing using the map isn't fun in GT6

Oh, you're definitely eligible for fast...:scared:

Good to know on the pace. I moved the ballast to 35 (or was it -35...) for a 51-49 split and I could push a lot harder. There's a 35 in there if I can tear myself away from Bathurst long enough to put some decent laps in.

As for connection attempts, in 4 hours, I failed to get in a room twice but I had a hell of a lot of connections that went to a warm up on the first screen that pops up. As soon as the time's up, it drops me in a race without a warm up option. I can only put it down to good peering in my neck of the woods and fast (150/10) cable...or just plain luck.

I have to admit I'm too inconsistent with the Megane. One race I'm running in 2.08+, with confident to gain time in some sectors, and then I lost totally the feeling of what the car is doing. it's very uncomfortable. And I cannot mention here my lap times, so bad they are :-)))

I'm using Kim's tune (thanks to you Kim). I have tried some adjustment, but nothing helpful. The problem I have it's when I optimise the tune for the straight and fast sectors, I cannot handle the car in the technical sector (tires comes too hot). Same result with the reverse option.

I do believe it's not only the tune. You guys are very good GT drivers, adopting the right behaviour for any situation. As joey (Aussie understand me) GT driver, like I am, it's difficult to follow you ;-)

I started this race with the setup from Brands, thought it should fit here as well, and it worked ok, but I had to be very careful with the car.
Then @Kim Nielsen came up with his ... and during the first laps I thought "Ho, what is that ?" As soon as I'd gotten used to it, it came clear
that it's a very good compromise to get the best overall performance and laptime. The twitchyness the other tune showed here on the
Mountain had mostly gone and driving was more comfortable and thus faster.

If your problem is burning tires ( isn't that a circumscription for one of our track heroes ? ), I assume it's when exiting slower corners like
Hell's Corner, Cutting, after the Dipper, Forest Elbow ... right ?
Though I've learned a lot by playing GT, I'm by far no expert, but I would suggest as follows ( and pls everybody, correct me if wrong ) :
Stay as calm as possible when approaching the corner. Be done with braking so that you can apply a little throttle while turning or at the
apex - should keep the car stable. Take care of your steering, don't forget to open - and apply throttle slowly when the car is settled for
the direction to go.

You didn't want to mention your slower laptimes, but the loss of time is just logic. If you really mess up one corner like The Cutting, your
lap is gone, if you mess up two on such a long track, you lose endless seconds.

Keep practising - I know you're talented 👍 !

Thank you very much Rocket Joe  ! I'm convinced practicing is a key, not only in GT but in real life too. Your advices sound logical. I'll work on it. you're right, I've to keep calm :nervous:. Now I know it'll take ages to me to join your club of fast drivers .
The man behind de hat :gtpflag:

Cooking the tires is a royal pain in the arse and they only need a small slide to start them off. You've got no choice but to back off till they get their grip back as trying to force the issue only compounds the problem.

I had to completely change my driving style with the Megane as I was having exactly the same problem. I started to brake a bit earlier, coasting the middle part of the corner and then powering out with a much safer line. I was quicker straight away (no tires heating up) and when I got the hang of it, I started feathering the throttle instead of coasting and picked up a shed load of time.

Long story short, drive at least 10% below your limit till you start to get the flow and then start to push.
