Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

I use my Tsukuba setup too, or mostly. Another thing is now I'm using the high turbo instead of the supercharger. Should I not be using either?

I still use the supercharger and about 100 kg ballast. The car is heavier and not easy to handle on this track, but I prefer having this bit of extra power for overtaking at the rare places where you have a chance to. For me it's the supercharger ... you know I'm lazy and don't want to fight the turbo lag all the time .

I wonder if the low RPM turbo could be an option for the couple of time killing hairpins and possibly more power for the long bits. I'll always prefer the supercharger's "always on" but the car's a dog in those pesky hairpins. I suppose I could tip the car in with a bit of handbrake and a lot of throttle but I doubt the people behind me would like it.:D

Consistent low 6's at Bathurst using a safe line with Kim's tune (nice one mate, love the gearing:tup:) but then I started running the same times in the AE and an old SW_10 Brands tune. I need to concentrate on one car/one tune but it's tough to decide which when I'm the limiting factor of the tune.

What about testing the low turbo and presenting your results here  ?

I think there's a simple answer to your "tune a or tune b" question. If times aren't affected it's the one that
makes you feel better, no ?! I also struggle with using different tunes, it's a bit like moving from one GT iteration to the next ... you can not go back just like that.

Aye? What is yer handle? I'll return the favour mate.

LasrJock (similar to my GTPLanet handle). I thought that it used to be possible to display your PSN name under your GTPlanet name but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Enjoying Bathurst too much but if I'm honest, I'm not good enough to consistently keep the turbo spinning in the slow bits to fully try it. I was throwing it out there for you in case that's your main race as you're good enough to spot the difference.

As for which Megane tune, I like to drive all of them as they go from safe all the way to trying to kill me. It depends what mood I'm in on which tune I use. As I said earlier though, I'm happy enough with a mid 6 if I'm still competitive and consistent. I'll leave the hot lapping to the people who enjoy it.

Hello
For the bathurst experts sector3 just before the audi R8 sign ....in this secter there s no racingline just keep it from the walls??
They should switch the audi sign and remplace it by a " Goodluck here " and at the end before the straight they ll add a new sign with " BAGGER...... you re still alive "

I'd be more than happy with mid 6 times - my best so far is 2:07.008.....

Still, I've had the great pleasure of watching my friend @Mwerte showing the rest of the world how to do it, with his 2:04.xxx times! Claims that he's still learning the track - don't want to be in a race with him when he's learnt it :nervous:

Just had a 5.7 (edit: 5.3 now. edit edit: 5.1:D) and running consistent 6-6.2 laps with Kim's tune. Even .5 up down the back straight but then I hit the outside curb on the last corner.🤬

Actually it s a scary track but like A Dictator sayed once " u dont practice until u get it right ... u practice until u cant get it wrong
and the video that @ROCKET JOE link did help me... i dont know how but it show the flow ( maybe i m using the wrong word ) that line the driver take from turn 3 until the nissan sign ( i dont know the names of the corners ) ...its like in spa the second sector is a flow of corners fast corners ! If u miss in the 1st corner u miss the all sector .... the corners are so successively... one after another... that u cant regain what u lost if u did miss or hit the wall...

Glad I could help ( wasn't sure if you'd like it ).

That's exactly what I thought too.
This section is magic and scary at the same time. Even if you know how it has to be done, it remains difficult
cos it's always a matter of centimeters - great stuff !
BTW it's one of my favorite motorsports vids - whenever I want
goose bumps I watch this.

@kilesa4568
"You don't practice until you get it right, you practice until you can't get it wrong."
Great stuff too ! Never heard that before. Proven again you're a good teacher :) ...

I think they know how fast/good they are, thats why they turn the SRF on.
Had fun last night getting my 🤬 handed to me (again and again :scared::mad::irked::rolleyes::)) by @ROCKET JOE in his ridiculously fast RX500, apart from a suspected SRF runner its the quickest Mazda I have come across to date, sure I messed up @BALDY500 's race the night before (apologies mate :embarrassed:) and encountered @Mwerte on the darkside joining me (:embarrassed: again) in exacting revenge on NotMoparBarrett (welcome brother)
Been on holiday so just read this, don't remember the race, but all fine,it makes a change though cause I usually bugger my own race up lol

Ooh yeah, she's "little French girl [Code name]" ... bhglfknköjoudrduvjbnömljojlköklöojoigtfstdszlkjöl :banghead:

We eventually could start a special thread called "Devil's Van" ... a thousand pages guaranteed.

PS Did she send you a PSN message :lol::lol: ?

You mean the girl "in the" Van??? ;) Yeah, that would be fair to say... pretty sure "she" uses SRF too. I saw her pull off a 2:04.2xx at Bathurst today. Doubt it would be possible without it, otherwise she'd be very well known on the Super Laps as well.

Cheers
