Final Quick Match Races 2-7-18

My DLC came with the digital version of the game so no code was needed. I just grabbed them from the download list along with the other anniversary bit and bobs. I'll have to take a look at it but I think I might need to remove it from the garage first to get a fresh batch. I'll give it a try tomorrow.

Yep, full and restored rigidity on both cars. Just run both offline again, and got down to 2:05.009 on the Base car, best time in the other one was 2:06.118

Also, got my wife to load the cars, which means that with bumpercam I don't know which car I'm driving (thought that would be easier than trying to drive with a blindfold on )

Weird isn't it that you can't replicate it.

Well if you've done a blinded test I can't argue with that. I had my first proper go tonight and I used the base model just to be on the safe side. I may have an explanation though. While waiting for the first race I looked at the driving options and TC was still on 5. I thought I'd changed it when I was testing but maybe not. I don't know if the settings transfer from off-line to on-line. I might try them both out off-line again tomorrow. The racing is so haphazard there's no way I can judge from that.

I knew something was off. Thought it was me.

Nice to see you @StirlingMoose

Nice to see you too. You can go that fast with a wobbly chassis? Calveron and Luna were pretty good, too good for me, but it was chaos further back. I used your suspension settings and tried to float it round but I'm not really feeling at home in the car. If they're doing a one-make at Bathurst it should be the Ford Falcon.

I was down over a second from my fastest, but don't tell anyone. Thought, well the room is goofy. Not sure really if that even happens but we all need excuses. Like, I'm tired!

Yeah, those guys are both okay but aren't really too high on the racecraft skill set level. Which is how I like to break people down. :mischievous:

I really wish this was more than 3 laps. Sometimes after getting smashed to pieces and getting back through the field, it's over.

The car is so ready to bite you in the butt that you feel like you need to play it safe. I tailgate some people that are so slow and probably scared of the track that it's either funny, or sad depending on how you look at it. I'm making minute adjustments constantly. Straight lines. Use all the track. Brake soon and trail off a bit. Early, but easy throttle on out. It's a pretty kick ass car. Just gotta figure it, and you, out. Fast hands help.

And yes, Falcon would be sweet. We did a tuner challenge there and I got hundreds of laps in that thing. It was great.

I've only just began doing some quick match races for the first time this week and have found the Megane Bathurst event to offer the most fun. Having read some of the thread, I was unaware that quite a few are using SRF and until then, thought they were just lost aliens that no one knew about. Having looked at the replays, it would be impossible to do those 2:03.xxx laps with the amount of understeer they have with the rough steering and brake input.

Here's a setup that will help annoy the SRF brigade if anyone wants to try it and tweak it.

Hello @mirial, nice to see you post here, welcome.
I see you're a member of GTRP, which was my first community when I started with GT4 :).
Thanks for the setup, I think we all never stop looking for alternatives. Well ...
You could add your transition :D ... and maybe tell me how you do with that setup and
in the race generally.

I see it often in tune set ups. Literally moving nothing.

Think there has been something to be moved before and reset to 0.
Remember that rumor, that even if you have no ballast, setting to -/+ 'whatever'
has an influence ?

PS
I had some first few laps with your tune and will post my impressions soon.

If ballast is 0 kg, what are you moving to +50?

For some reason, the weight distribution indicator doesn't change if you move the ballast forwards or rearwards if it is 0 kg. But it makes a hell of difference on track anyway.

I think the back end is working very well, so if anyone wants to change anything, then perhaps lower the front a small amount. I've tried more ride height with softer roll bars in this combo but can't get the same bite, so it must be something to do with the way PD have programmed the texture of the Tarmac on this track.

The biggest problem is trying to be precise here because I just find certain key points of reference to set each corner up are vague with bumper view.

@ROCKET JOE Joined GTRP many many years ago back when they organised TTs, so good to see quite a few don't lose interest in this carry-on when they get older :)

Just going to give it a try!

I hope you guys won't kill me for this post.
I'm lightyears away from being good in car mechanics / car physics.
@mirial would you try to explain the relations in what you mentioned above.
I'd be satisfied with a short essay :D  !

Your PSN name mirial as well? I'm going to hammer Bathurst this weekend (nights) so hopefully we'll get matched up. PSN is Digtater so keep an eye out for me.:)

Hopefully, a few others will be on too? I'm desperate for some close hard racing.

Bit more comparison testing this morning.
Base model 2:06.4
Normal car 2:06.2

I'm gradually getting faster with practice but it doesn't seem to make any difference which car I use. @bone_tone, I don't doubt you are finding a difference as it is so marked and you've done a blinded test, but there is something odd going on.

Hello everybody ... when its the next anniversary for GT .. i missed all those events because i discovered the world gt in 2015

And speaking about bathurst for example i did manage to do a 1.03.881 once and i dont thing it ll happen again because i started the race in 8th after the 1st lap i gain 4 places and in the 2sd lap i did have a big ( toe?) When u stick behind someone and overtake the second a the end just before turn2 .. did a very clean sector to catch the first and i did just before the second straight and got a another toe before overtaking him in the last chicane and got 2.03 and some inbox msg full of insults and accusations
I mean u gain alot if u stick behind someone so.... some time 2.03 is possible but only this way

some inbox msg full of insults and accusations

I can believe that if my own inbox is anything to go by. I'm .8 of a second behind you and have been accused of everything...including being an Arabian who should 🤬 off back to Morocco. Obviously, they couldn't see the Union Jack next to my name.

Ignore the ignorant fools. Great time.

Good job, more insults = why is he faster than me 👍
Welcome @mirial :gtpflag:

Actually i m from Morocco :lol::lol::lol:

I could have sworn you had the Dutch flag next to your name in the friends list.:embarrassed:

Back when I was working, my wife and I were looking at taking a holiday there. Beautiful country, architecture and weather, but as usual, the wife had her way and we ended up in the Canary Islands again.

The point remains though. Ignore the idiotic messages from the sore losers and block them from sending you any more.
