Interesting read, however he keeps mentioning it's intimidating size, does he really feel intimitadted by3 series BMW's?

Kazunori Yamauchi must be furious that someone got it before he did, looks like GT5's budget just went sky high since Kaz' needs to procure one now for "research and development" purposes (hello Motegi Super Speedway). </lame_humour>

Even with two LS7s welded together and double quad turbos it still would never catch the Bugatti. That would be embarassing.

i reckon the sultan of brunei got the first one. i mean let's face it, he's got the money, so he could even get 2 or 3 if he wanted to. maybe more!!!

Another one in Cali delivered... it looks like chump change in this pic though ;)

That's what it is.

One of the most expensive cars on earth. Exactly why the Veyron is chump change next to it.

McLaren F1GTR

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

You made me laugh so hard that I accidently fell on my kitty! :ill: :(

She is fine by the way. 👍

When I saw the picture, the first thing my eyes looked at was that other car on the opposite lane of the Bugatti Veryon. :embarrassed: So I guess the Veryon is chump change to me in that PICTURE! :embarrassed:

You forgot one:

Well, that takes the amount of cars with 16 cylinder engines up to 3, cars with quad-turbos up to 2, and cars that have failed with such things (probably) still at 100%.

I'd take a Veyron over a 250 GTO given the chance.

However, the 250 GTO has more class than the Bugatti. It's a real classic. And to be honest, the 250 GTO grabbed my attention first in that pic rather than the Veyron. 👍

I'd take the GTO instantly, but then I would sell it (there is no way I'm going to even to attempt to service, drive or insure a car worth in excess of $4 million, and I sure as hell would be too paranoid to even touch it) and buy a few Bugatti Veyrons. And a small mansion.

I'd sell either if I miraculously recieved one, the running costs of both would be stupidly high.

I'd take the Bentley Azure.

The GTO and Veyron are all well and good, but no match for class.

It's a stripped out race-car made road legal.

It's beautiful, fast and expensive, but it sure ain't classy.

Oh it's classy, it may be a stripped out sportscar but it's pure class. It's not luxurious, it's probably not that comfey inside but that doesn't stop a car being classy.

Then again, for €1,000,000 (£839,285 in the UK) before local taxes, so it should be for its price is another in the growing list of Veyron ultimates: nobody, not even McLaren has ever had the temerity to put a car on sale for anything approaching this kind of money.

I thought the Mercedes Benz CLK-GTR sold for around 1.25 million dollars (like 2.some million Deutsch Marks back in the days) when it was sold brand new in 1998.

The CLK-GTR cost 1 million pounds, but I guess that it was never a full production car since out of the 25 cars made and sold 5 were open tops which I think classeed as a different model, they were allowed to race on the basis that they would build 25 or more road versions much like the Speed 12 was for a single season, but then after the GT-1 class ended Mercedes held back the last 5 and had them made into open tops. I'm not sure if thats 100% correct, but thats my assumption, it could just be that the coment the the Veyron is themost expensive production car ever is just wrong.

That white car looks like an Arnage to me (look how similar the headlights are to the Azure's)
It can't be, the hood profile is too low and the headlights aren't behind any square glass piece.
The CLK-GTR cost around $1,500,000 (£1,112,000) when new. And it still went slower than the McLaren F1! And it "only" cost $750,000 (F1) to $1,250,000 (F1 LM) when it was new. I've never heard of an open top though. I thought they had sold all 25 by the end of '99 (of course, the CLK-CLR probably didn't help the cars sales too much), but I'm not sure, so you may be right live4speed.
