There are 5 CLK-GTR roadsters.
live4speedI'm not talking about it being average in rally car terms though, average in road car terms. Dakar btw is a kind of rally race, theres a lot more to rallying than the WRC.
nikyThat would actually be interesting.
Considering a lot of other Dakar entrants are either SUVs or three ton trucks, the Veyron wouldn't be bad, if it had the articulation for it... but I doubt it would be possible to put that much suspension on the car and still have it retain the same silhouette.
VW's been bragging about their rigid testing, so a Paris-Dakar publicity stunt would be certain to drum up some good vibe for them.
McLaren'sAngelHiya! Meow! (='.'=)
I am still wondering if the Bugatti Veyron can actually beat Ferrari FXX around a track. What about the Porsche Carrera GT or the Ferrari Enzo?
Making pretty big assumptions there arn't you. Wrong ones at that, considering the test drive in this weeks issue of Autocar magazine I have next to me quite clearly states that the car is incredibly precise, it's almost too good in every way. As for track performance, I bet it will be the new fastest car round the TopGear track, looking at all the positive feeback from people who've driven the Veyron saying it can corner well (okay not as well as the Enzo, but thats not exactley a put down) and just ho much faster it will go round the high speed sections, it'll be immense. I still think the Cerbera Speed 12 would be the fastest car round the TopGear track being at least a good three seconds faster than the Enzo. This might beat the Enzo but it'll be close, your looking at the times being within a second of eachother.kylehnatNo. The Veyron was built for only one thing: speed. It looks about as nimble as a barn.
Again, very wrong, the Veyron doesn't spin it's tyres wildly, it's a very controlable machine. If you shred it's tyres fast youre not a good driver according to more than one review of the car.Onikaze1 Hot lap, a Veyron might make a good showing before it shreds it's tires.
Anything more, a "vanilla" Enzo would make a fool of it, it was designed to be just about as race ready as a road car can get after all.
An FXX is a whole different class, 800 Hp, 3000 Lbs (or is it even lighter than that?) all the downforce and gooey tires you could want, it would eat a Veyron in anything but a straightline blast.
JCE3000GT
Holy. ****ing. ****. 0-250 in 55 seconds? Ummm...that's quite fast and makes the Enzo, Zonda, and CGT seem like pussycats.
