Hey @Otaliema, just want to make sure that its ok to turn my tune in 2mrw ON the 4th, ya? If not I can submit it now. Just wanted to do a few more miles with her on the wet surface to make sure I'm happy with my one change. Thx you, and Btw i won't make it a habit being late like this.

@praiano63 another tune I couldn't match like for like. I was able to reach 485pp 3 more than the tune lists, but the gear ratios are also a little different....only just though, so no major issues there. I noticed that you had version 1.04 listed as well, but going by the date of your tune, I would think you were on a later version. Is there a possibility that GT6 is slightly different from player to player?

3 hours? Wow...makes you miss the shared car feature from GT5. That saved loads of time when Hami and Biffa would build all of the tunes and pass them around to the testers.

To be fair, Hami built them and sent them to me to share!! The GTP carshare accounts that were set up by @Ridox2JZGTE were the best by far. I'm hoping sharing will make an appearance in the near future now the GT5 servers have closed, there are lots to build for this shootout, which means I should probably get started soon.

Perhaps the gears ratios that i´ve writen on the tune sheet are the ones that appear with oil change, my first car had it changed. Anyway, ratios don´t mater , it just a 6 ratio gearbox, not the custom one.

For the PP it´s 485 not 482 as it is written. It´s correct now.

Sorry for this.

No worries...for as many spreadsheets that you do, I think a minor ooops of 3pp would be allowed, only every now and then though!;) I didn't think the gears were that much of an issue, like you said, they are stock and can't be changed, so I just pushed forward and I'm now taking it to Tsukuba.

I really missed the car sharing feature, the GTPcarshare account has been dead for months now :(

Not sure if it's really okay, I seem to recall last shootout or was it in Spec Miata, @JujiroMatsuda made some posts about differences in performance on 5 speed and 6 speed ratio when different parts or oil change or no oil change - different ratio gives different top speed/acceleration ?, something like that :) Will have to ask @Otaliema.

@Ridox2JZGTE yeah, I understand what you are saying, but in this case it's a 6speed/6speed scenario and the first couple of gears are out by .021 with the same final. That's why I didn't think it was too big of a deal. I know as a replica tuner that would drive you nuts, and from an engineering point of view it does me as well, but I've learned in the GT world that there needs to be some room for forgiveness or else the numbers will consume you!

I think you did not understand. There is no problem with the ratios. The one that are writen on the tune sheet are the ratios numbers that were showed with the car OIL CHANGED.
Then i´ve builded the car with NO OIL CHANGE but i´ve forgot to change the ratio numbers of the 6 speed gearbox that are different of course now.
This don´t mater because the right unmutable numbers will be the one that the car NO OIL CHANGE will show with a 6 speed gearbox. If it was a custom one ok. But not in this case.

I often mad when PD made so many mistakes with a car specs  PD even made mistakes on their pet car Nissan GTR  from wrong weight distribution to incorrect stock 5th gear ratio, should be 1.001 not 1.000

That was one of my favorite shootouts. It was fun to see everyone guess who built which tunes.

1. The PP figure is unreachable

2. Unsure what parts you have fitted? As I understand it you have :-

Stage 1 Engine Tuning / Mid-RPM Turbo kit / Intake Tuning = 480 pp/ 315 bhp/ 47 kgfm/ 3.65 bhp/kg Power Limiter at 93.1% <------ (must be 95%+ to meet regulations)

3. Have you done an oil change on the car at any point? These are banned in FITT competitions due to the +5% power gain.
hello, i did NOT use any oil change however the JAPANESE version on GT ONLY display PS, i do NOT even have an option to change from PS to HP.... what can i do to fit regulations?

Low-RpmTurbo/ Isometric Exhaust/ Intake Tuning/ Power Limiter 97.6% = 479 pp, 315 bhp, 46 kgfm, 3.65kg/bhp

Low-Rpm Turbo/ Isometric Exhaust/ Sports Exhaust/ Power Limiter 96.1% = 479 pp, 315 bhp, 46 kgfm, 3.65kg/bhp

Low-Rpm Turbo/ Isometric Exhaust/ Sports Catalytic Converter / Power Limiter 96.6% = 479 pp, 315 bhp, 45 kgfm, 3.65kg/bhp

Stage 1 Engine tuning/ Low-RPM Turbo/ Intake Tuning/ Power Limiter 95.2% = 480pp, 315 bhp, 46 kgfm, 3.65kg/bhp

These are a few combinations that will put you within the accepted BHP/Power Limiter range, If you could fit one and make note of the PS then you will have a reference point. You can then make your own decision regarding fitted parts and edit your post. If you could let me know when you have done this I will check it over and make sure

TESTERS NOTES

Dangit Krenkme, your non spoiler just cost me 3K. For that, your car now looks like a giant purple jelly bean in my garage....I dub thee "Grimace"!:dopey:

No, I don't think so. It looks like a daunting task, testing this event to a high standard, sorry. But lets see, I may have the spare time at some point to do it.

Set aside some time, have a pad and pen handy, have the tunes all ready on cars (have tuner name in a, b, c settings if you want), get some practice in with the tracks you will be on (you kinda have this if you tuned an entry on the tracks) and uh, hot lap away. Lap the first one or two tunes again at the end or half way through or whatever if you notice your skill or whatever getting better. Might have to split the testing up, this event is big. There's no real set formula how to test. Some testers give every car 6 laps or whatever, but I race each car until I have made a perfect enough lap in it.

Sounds good sir. if you get the time just go for it and post your results.

Hey if you are in need of more testers i would be more than happy to test. If someone could send me a short "guide" on the proper way to test and take notes i be willing to test. I may not be the fastest driver but i can keep consistent Lap times.
There is no such thing as enough testers

WARNING WALL OF TEXT INCOMING!
Testing is pretty simple just time consuming.
I recommenced using something like Google docs or a word program to record your results so you can make driver notes and feed back and lap times on each tune as you complete it.
Most of the time testers do the following after building a car
Check it again
Put 5 laps on it to learn it
Exit remove ghost
Put 2, 3 lap stints down for hot lapping.
Rise and lather and repeat for all cars in a group.

The Scoring and results post has the basics on how to score for Drivers choice. Each person scores just a little diffferntly. But general consensis is how did YOU like it. 1 OMG worst tune I've ever put on my car. 10 God like tune I'm so keeping this. half points are allowed with drivers choice.
Note the fastest car is not always the funnest car and the funnest car is not always the fastest or best car.
In the hot hatch challenge the second place DC in the hothatch class for drivers choice was like 5th or 6th for lap time.
Or in the Muscle car shoot out my C2 was 2nd in lap time and 7th in DC (only 9 cars).
So DC is a subjective score based on how you felt with the tune on the car for those laps.
A understanding of BB code is usefull but not required. basic commands
Code:
 [b]***[/b] [u]***[/u] @[USER=243097]Otaliema[/USER] [url='web address here'] Text here [/url]
Are the most common codes found in a scoreing result post. Some will add a size command for the classes
Code:
 [size=3] Default size [/size]

I like this :)

Great adivce :)

Much less wordy than mine but I typed a lot so i'm leaving it. :scared:

Always love more testers, it makes for more fun comparing times, driving styles, and comments. There's really no guide to speak of, just maybe some helpful advice...
Be sure that you are ok with spending the funds...they seem to be at a premium in GT6. Would hate to see you get most of the way through and run out.
Choose a group and work your way through one by one until completing that particular group.
Check, check and double check. With multi car/options/tracks like this challenge, maybe write yourself some notes on tuners who use the same car and concentrate on those first. (Ex. Praiano and Brianwolf use the same Impreza) Making sure that you follow their tune down to the letter. Hence why you see some of us testers asking questions when we get different numbers than the tuners listed.
When going to the track, I go to Single Player Time Trial mode. Be sure that you check your settings properly (TCS seems to always default back to 5 on me).
At track settings: check that the grip is set to real and if the track calls for wet.
I am currently running each car for 2 sets of 10 laps at every track. Without giving too much away right now, it's best to run atleast 7 laps on the tires before restarting.
Keep track of your best times for each car and track along with what you liked or didn't like about the car. As long as you are respectful with your criticism, most, if not all, of the tuners appreciate the honesty.
Depending on which of us testers get done first, there is usually a good format to copy from when posting your results.
And most important....have fun and don't worry about your times!!! Drive the car putting everything you can into it, and no one can look down on you for that and slag off your times. Who knows it might be the car, not the driver!:sly:
