Can I suggest combining the Mustang & Focus together. Still keep the separate Pro and Street class though.
There's not a lot of difference in lap time between the '13 Focus and the Mustang GT '07 in standard form. The gearbox in the Mustang is a shocker. The first 5 gears in the Focus make sense but that 6th ratio is all wrong.
I've built a replica of the '06 Focus RS500 and imagined what a '13 model would be like as well.
Considering Ford are currently running around the Nordschleife in what looks a lot like new RS and/or RS500 versions, I like the idea of a well tuned/driven Focus keeping a GT spec Mustang honest.
If you select real world circuits, count me in.

I think I would like to host a Mustang and Focus challenge just because I work with Ford.

Pro Class: Mustangs

Street Class: Focus

I need to work out some of the detail and need to look into how to equalize the cars a bit.

Any interest?
I`m interested. :) Maybe a rally stage aswell?

My thoughts for the Ford Challenge:

Three classes. Stagger the due dates so that tuners can complete one class and testers can begin vs. having to build and submit all cars at once.

Ford Focus Challenge
450 PP
Sport Hard Tires
Fixed transmission
Track ?
Make this the first tuner due date.
Eligible cars:
Focus RS '02
Focus ST170 '03
Focus ST '06
Focus ST '13

Ford Mustang Challenge
550 PP
Sport Medium Tires
Track?
Make this the second tuner due date a week later.
Eligible cars (TBD):
Shelby GT350 '65
Shelby GT350R '65
Mustang Mach 1 '71
Mustang SVT Cobra R '00
Mustang GT '05
Mustang V8 GT Coupe Premium '07
Mustang Boss 302 '13
Mustang Shelby GT500 '13

Ford GT Challenge
Only two cars eligible, the GT 05 and 06 to keep cost down for the test drivers
600 PP
Sport Soft Tires
Track?
Make this the third tuner due date a week later than Mustang.
Eligible cars:
Ford GT '05
Ford GT '06

Bonus Challenges
Time trial leader boards. No test drivers. You build your own tune and drive it and submit a time with video or photo proof.

1. Ford NASCAR Lap - Racing Soft maxed out tunes for any Ford NASCAR. Tracks: Daytona night, Motegi oval and Laguna Seca

2. Ford Rally Lap - Snow, 500PP, Rally Cars
RS200 Rally Car '85
Escort Rally Car '98
Focus Rally Car '99
Focus RS WRC 07 '08

Looks good.
With a week between each tune submission, why not allow tuners to enter all three classes?

I'd try and tune and test depending the schedule. Family vacation coming up in 2 weeks. Just tell me when and I'm off to the junk yard.

Isn't that where you buy Fords?:P

This coming from someone who owned an LS and an Excursion!
Which event would we be doing first?
Dolhaus or Hami??

Staggered due dates is a genius idea! 👍
I`m liking this festival of Ford motorsport idea very much.:)

We could allow for that if the test drivers are up for it. I was trying to keep the amount of test hours down.
Although I am an anti Ford man, I think this sound...good...:yuck:!

:dopey:👍

I also think it would be fun to do a pickup truck challenge; Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge. If Toyota made a real truck it might be let in too.

I'm thinking I might like to take part in this one if I may as a tuner. Particularly interested in the ones which I have bolded and maybe even the truck (Dodge, I own a 2003 Durango) challenge. If I do decide to enter, I just want to make it understood that I'm not trying to compete against the expert F.I.T.T. tuners here but just as a challenge to myself to see how I do rate amongst the master tuners here. I'll keep a watch on this to see what exactly you come up with but it all sounds very enticing so far.

My contest idea is pretty much ready to go but I'll leave it to the community to decide whether they want mine or Hami's first

Mine is not ready. It is close, but I need some time to build all of the eligible cars and look for the over dog and under dogs.

I had a look at the Mustang Boss 13' and its almost identical in performance to the SRT Challenger '08, I looked at the Camaro as well but that thing is running on PD's special brew fuel and is much faster at the same PP.

What is the time frame you are looking at?, start and finish. Trying to see if I can test also.
2 weeks tuning, 2 weeks testing? Could be longer if that's what people want
I'm pretty much ready to go so I can have it running in a day or two

I think the only honest pick up in the game is the Ram everything else is a "race" truck, and dodge didn't get any added under their badge just Ford, Chevy, Ram and Toyota.

Sounds like your ready to roll and @Motor City Hami isn't. Launch time?

@Motor City Hami Ford challenge sounds like a blast. good cars better when tuned I look forward to it.

I though Dodge was the make and Ram was the model....have I been out of the states that long?:scared:
effective 2010 Dodge spun off Ram into it's own brand to focus solely on trucks with it's own brand. Dodge switched to cars and now let Ram handle all trucks and van's for the company.

I like it sir. Staggered starting dates as previously stated is brilliant. Car selection looks good as well

- this event will be raising:cheers:👍

Oh. Sorry. I forgot to mention that you will be banned from this event due to your affiliation with that other brand. I am afraid that you might try to sabotage the event and blame the Ford and not your tune.
Now that is just down right wrong , what about my affiliation with Ford? After all, I work on more of them than I do Bowties :sly:.

Besides, it might (not likely EVER) have an effect on me causing my allegiance to change....:P
Did I ever tell you that I am a Rusty Wallace fan and how ticked off I was that he switched from Ford to Dodge before he retired.......all those Ford Racing t-shirts while driving a Chevy:banghead::grumpy::ouch:

Just be careful with your key chain. Add just one too many and... crash.
