^^

But if we want to give the RS6 a chance, wouldn't it make more sense to give it some margin for say…break-in, and such? Also, that thing weighs…what, 1.8 tons? Even with 550+hp, I can't see how it's going to be competitive on a track, where brakes and handling matter more than just brute POWERRRR. So maybe bump it up by 10PP? 535PP, should be high enough for most of the cars taking part…right?

Derp. I didn't account for break in. 535PP makes more sense then. 👍 Well that's up to the tuner I think. It takes a lot to make a 2025kg car handle well so it'll be a nice challenge for someone.

You say that, but look at the recent update. I think it's gonna be one of the front-runners actually.

I used a stock '08 RS6 for just about everything I could coming up through A-spec. Goes like stink and sounds better than anything else on the track. :D It handles surprisingly well once you learn to drive it. Can I call dibs now or do I have to wait for the official go?

But, but...
That was my choice! :P

I don't think it matters if two people tune the same car, guys. :P

Although I call dibs on having a white GF.

If I run this one (very busy at work this week and next) I think the wagon challenge should be on tuner per car, but not first come first serve dibs. I will make a random list of numbers set next to the alphabet. Pick a letter and your random number becomes the order in which you pick your vehicle.

Are there any vehicles that need to be banned from the start so that we can have a good cross section of available competitive wagons/SUVs? Audi A6?

...Please don't. Otherwise all my initial testing will be completely useless.

The only thing I have against random car choice is that if you end up with a total lemon, it kills all the fun.

I don't understand why anybody can't choose the car he want. The purpose of any shootout is to select a car and let it the best as anybody can do with the tune.
If several "same" cars enter the shootout it'll be because the car is the best choice for the competition. It can have several groups of the 2 or 3 best cars. The way people will do to let one faster than the other is the best point of all this shootouts.
Also what will do a tuner that stay with the worst car of the lot... Not even fun to drive, slow, ..... poor tuner. Not very fair for this special guy.

This is just my opinion.

Hey, it wasn't that bad a car…[/picking a fight]

Anyway…MCH, get this started! :D
That car was worse than a paper cut on your gentleman's sausage.
It is not random. The method just decides who picks first. Like a lottery drawing.

Oh! Well then that's fine. 👍

Just looking to try something different. Are people really taking the speed of station wagons so seriously? Just thought that we could do one that was a bit more silly and relaxed?

People do want to treat it as a silly and relaxed shootout, which is why people would rather just tune what they'd like instead of going through a lottery.

I think if a few get left out it's because they suck, presumably.

But yeah, goofing around in wagons, I'd much prefer to end up using whatever is my favorite.

I think we can do the one tuner per car thing but do it as more of a gentleman's agreement than a lottery. We know certain amongst us *coughharveycough* will check out every single car and others will only do one or two. If it comes to two people really wanting to use the same car we can flip a coin or whatever but for initial choice I think we can just communicate what we are testing or using and everyone should be able to find something worthwhile to play with.

Since you will be busy I would be happy to help out running the show. Let me know when you plan to get it started and I will reserve a couple posts at the front for the tester and tuner links.
