FITT Old Vs. New Hatchback Challenge

I'm leaning towards either the Civic's, Peugeot's, Ford's, VW's, or Odyssey/Life Van. Or the Mini's.

It's a balancing act with rotation vrs grip with these cars. More so then any other drive train. The snap exit oversteer was fun to drive but the lack of front grip killed the lap time so sadly had to tune it out

Cannot do anymore, they are slow enough and I really do not like the track.

Maybe it's the tune, maybe it's me and the track, but I expect to be way behind in this Challenge.

So slow, I didn't think they deserved being blue, gray and gloomy was more fitting.

That grey colour would looks really good on an Aston Martin. Good choice indeed

Add a couple of unknowns in there and it should be interesting. I didn't go as aggressive with them like the Focus, but that CR-Z is a nut case! I'm very interested in the other tuners setups for that one. My thought was... "I have to pit every 4 laps to recharge the battery anyways, might as well use up the tires too!"

You could be right but as we know, it all comes down to the testers and what they make of the tunes. It could be a surprising result and we have some new tuners among us who may throw a curve ball or two. I am looking forward to the reviews from testers.

If the cars aren't getting a few knocks along the way, the testers probably aren't driving hard enough. Monaco is known for close contact with the barriers. Both of my Mini's were battered and bruised following their stint around the principality.

So very true. It don't matter how much we like our own cars, only how much the testers like the cars, and how much they can get from them.

Are you sure it's not the little Honda iVTECH engines getting out of balance from all the hard driving? Those ain't exactly HPD engines

Mixed of course! That RV would be a nightmare to tow. Top Gear have a couple classic episodes involving caravans...hilarious!

There were too many caravan images to choose from from Top Gear. The one I wanted to find was the car catapult into the quarry with the caravan in the centre of a massive target. That looked like a fun game.

Can you imagine having a job like that? I've only seen that one once, might have to pull up NetFlix and watch it again. That first picture was a good one, I was surprised by both of the cars used in that "challenge".

I really don't think I'm a threat in this one, I've only built half a car so far and I don't think its going to be a competitive pair unless the newer version goes together easily and performs better than expected

From my little bit of tuning, and what tunes have come so far, this might just be a tight challenge. After this weekend I might test these cars, tentative though.

I will build the best cars I can in the time I have available but I think to take the prize here you need to be in the right pair and have them tuned to a very high standard, unfortunately I haven't had the time to put the groundwork in so I think anything above mid pack would be a result

Top gear as had a lot of fun with caravans. So have the Mythbusters over here in the states.

but not nearly as much as Top Gear has had with them.

With the past few challenges, as long as your "half" a car has the engine, you're still in with a chance!👍
