Welcome drivers, to the Forza Le Mans Racing Series! What started life as the ALMS for online racers, turned into the LMS, turned into the Forza Le Mans Series! There are quite a few who have stayed here from the beginning, some who haven't. Expect some new features upcoming, including new graphics, cars list, calendars, and much, much more! I would also like to include a news bulletin! Here you will find information on races, new additions to the rules and the thread, new drivers, as well as the official qualifying list! Get prepared racers, a major renovation is about to occur!

News Center:
Here's where you'll find the latest information, big or small, to keep everyone up to date in the world of Forza Le Mans!
NOTE:There will be a short period where this will be unavailable. This will be due to me uploading a graphic to display this information.
-Dates Announced
-News Bulletin Added
-Holiday Policy Added
-Calender Added

Introduction:
Hello Forza racers. Are you a little disappointed that Turn 10 didn't incorporate the ALMS license into FM4 that well? So am I! Thankfully though, they did offer incredible lobby options for multiplayer Xbox Live. This enables us, to recreate, to a certain extent, an ALMS series. Here's how it will work.

-Four Groups of cars, four people in each group. These groups consist of GT1, and LMP1, much like the real LMS.
-Eight Players for each class.
-Modern day GT and Prototypes. (Most likely 2008<)(Except GT1 cars)
-Each Group Set's off at a staggered group start, most likely 20 seconds<.
-Best two in each group runs at Le Mans Circuit De La Sarthe for an hour and a half long race.
-Majority of races will be about 50 Minutes long. Plus 15 minute qualifying.

I'm planning to post this up on other forums as well to gain even more interest. Thinking about setting up two full rooms if we have enough people, that way on the final Circuit De La Sarthe race, we'll be able to have a full 16 car grid.

Big thanks to both these extremely talented people! Wonderful designs, and I just know these will add a large amount of diversity to the racing!

The Rules:
Much like many people, I prefer clean racing. Obviously since this is a multi-car class racing series, bumping will occur. Please keep these rules in mind while racing, just so we can minimize collisions.

-If someone is overlapping you, or if they have a higher class car than you, keep your line, don't move over to let them by.
-If your coming up on a slower car, wait for the optimum time to pass, don't just blast full in, you'll cause a wreck.
-Always check your mirror's, and listen for the sound of up-coming engines.
-If your coming up to a group of slower cars battling it out, it would be best to stay behind them, you don't want to risk an accident trying to squeeze your car in between other fighting cars.
-If you have a mic, it'll be best to warn the driver your about to overtake, that your going to overtake them, and on which side. (Left or Right)
-Always follow the OLR at all times. Just because this is Forza Planet, Forza Central, or the official Forza Motorsport Forums, doesn't mean you don't have to abide by the rules. I would suggest to read it if you haven't done so already.
-If you wish to file a complaint against another player, please report it to the stewards. We will keep all replays on hand so as to investigate claims. If someone is found guilty, they WILL receive punishment based on how large the crime was. These punishments will range from a simple point reduction, to you having to sit a race out, to even a full series ejection. We don't play around. (Stewards will be chosen. To make it easier, it would help if you tell us the lap and how far in the accident was.)

Points System:
Note: This is NOT final. This will be subject to change as we see fit.

Points system:
ijqsGu.jpg

1 point for fastest lap - 1 point for pole position -

Please, feel free to voice any complaints you have against the points system. Any revisions will be welcome.

Holiday Policy
Since the beginning of the year has the most holidays, and given I don't want to start at the middle of the year next year (Mostly due to the biggest holiday of all, the 24 Hours of Le Mans) I decided to set it around December all the way to April. Problem is, people may go off for holiday vacation. Now I don't think it's fair for them to be awarded no points for that race. Therefore I devised a Holiday Policy!

Here's how it works. You notify one of the stewards ahead of time about the race/races you'll miss. We set you in a qualifying lobby, and you qualify like normal. After everyone has qualified for the race, we divide your placing amongst the grid by two, then average it compared to the places you were awarded for the previous race. If you don't get it, I'll set the numbers up!

Say you won't make the 4th race. You qualify 5th. For the first race, you got 2nd, for the second race, 5th, for the third 1st.

Dividing your qualifying place= 10th.
10+2+5+1=18/4=4.5 Round that up to 5 and you score the points for 5th!

With this policy someone who misses a race due to complications with the dates, will still be in the competition.

Track List:
Note: Again, this isn't final, however, this is projected to be final, with very small revisions as needed.

Qualifying
This is slightly complicated, so please read carefully! Each driver has from the end of the previous race, to the start of the following race. Each qualifying session is 15 Minutes long. You can schedule a qualifying session with me, or if I decide to hold one, I will invite everyone that's on into a Private lobby. The trick is, you must complete three total qualifying sessions. After this, we will add up your fastest time from each session, then average it. This is how you will be lined up on the grid. If you have any questions, then please, ask!

Looking great man, I'll let some people know about this. I don't think I'd be able to fully commit to it but I'd love to give one race a go (Sarthe anyone xD)

Cheers,
All the best

Absolutely up for an LMP drive in this.

Depending on the time and day that you're planning to run these, I would be very interested. I don't know what car I would want to run yet, but can I make a suggestion?
Perhaps, instead of LMP1 and LMP2 you should do LMP1 and LMPC with the LMPC being only the Oreca FLM car, as it is in real life right now. The reason I say ths is that I think with the loss of the RS Spyder, the Acura is the only LMP2 car still in the game, so it would basically be a one car class anyways, and the speed difference between the FLM and real LMP1 cars is greater than the difference to the Acura, so it would help to differentiate the classes a little better. As I said, just a thought.
Also, I think that current ALMS has not GT1 class, but instead is GT2(which is now GTE if I'm thinking right) and GTC, which is a spec class for the Porsche GT3 Cup car. Obviously the GT3 isn't in the game, but you might consider doing a class below GT2/E instead of one above it. Of course, there are more GT1 cars in FM4, so you could reasonably do a GT1 class, but if you're going strictly for realism to the ALMS it's not correct. Again, just an idea; I would be totally fine with any/all of the changes or with having it the way it is right now, it makes no difference to my interest level.

Either way, if the times work out so that I can compete, I will run either LMP2/LMPC or GT2, I'm just not sure which one yet.

Interested! Time/Weekday would be the only thing holding me back, depending on what you decide. Any ideas of when races would be?

I made a poll for everyone to choose the time frame that would be best for them. After this we will choose the time, then we will schedule the races, hopefully by that time we will have enough people to get ready!

I'm interested, and voted Sat Evening. Already running the Flying Miata Cup on Fri evening so that will conflict.

GT: Pacerace100
Class: GT2
Car: Ford GT

I do dislike the lapping rule though. IMHO it's the faster car's responsibility to make the safe pass, and the slower car should hold their line so they are more predictable. I have seen more crashes caused by cars trying to get out of the way then when they hold their line. Also, when watching the Leguna Seca ALMS race this year I never saw a slower car move over. The faster car just waited for the safe opportunity. But however we do it, I will race if we run it at a time that is accessible for me.

I'm in! Yes Pacerace I voted for Sat Evening, as well. That's the best time for a race to be held. I also dislike the lapping rule too. Just like Pacerace said, and I can tell you this as well cause I race in real life too, if you're lapping another slow racer, make sure to pass him at the right spot. You cannot depend on a driver to look back and give you space. A driver has to maintain his line and if someone wants to pass you then the other driver has to make the right decision. I think that that also adds a little bit of more excitement to the race! Think about it...

GT: LMR DJFiisSHYPR
Class: GT1
Car: 2006 Aston Martin #007 Aston Martin Racing DBR9 R2/825

hey crispychicken add my cousin to the series... he'll drive the same car as me (2006 Aston Martin #007 Aston Martin Racing DBR9).

GT: CrisCM
Class: GT1
Car: 2006 Aston Martin #007 Aston Martin Racing DBR9 R2/825

I'm going to close the poll a little earlier than intended. Next week on Friday? After that I can get the dates in, and post this up on the official forums to attract a few more people.

Can we use real LMS liveries that people have created?

I haven't thought of this before, but that actually is a great idea! It would add a huge number of diversity to the races! Good idea there! Just state the car, and number it will be.

Alright, with the current names, we have 1 spot open in GT1, 2 in LMP1, 3 in GT2, and 4 in LMP2. Remember, only a few days left until I post it up onto the official Forza forums, so try and secure your spots now before it's too late!

Definitely want to join, but I think it might be necessary to have a PI limit on each class. I.e, someone enters LMP2 with an upgraded car at R1-998. Or does the lobby settings or something filter this out?

Anyway:
Gamertag: rhys169
Class: GT2
Car: Haven't decided

In hindsight if Saturday afternoon means Saturday morning for the UK im totally game for that.

I have the option ticked for Allowing Upgrades to off, therefore nobody can get an advantage.

Also, I don't know if I mentioned it, but if you want, you can use a real world livery that you buy from the storefront, as long as it's from the real world.

Also, the last GT1 spot has been filled. I'll get a spreadsheet ready for some organization.

Before I choose my car It would be good to know if we can use upgrades or setups, my decision depends on this. BTW, the Acura LMP cars are LMP1 or 2? Thanks

Acura LMP cars are petrol so they're LMP2.

Btw, why don't you just make the series two classes? I'd much rather race with 7 other guys rather than 3.

LMP1 and GTE.

Also, I think the race length should be increased to 45 minutes instead of 30. Then Sarthe could be a little more than just an hour to make the enduro aspect hit a little more.

Annd, 5 seconds between classes is far too short. They should start the slower classes at least 30 seconds ahead, or half the track at least.

I think that is actually a better idea, since most people seem to have interest in the GT1 and LMP1 classes only. I'm going to send a PM over to everyone who chose a GT2 or LMP2 car.

I'm going to do some testing to see which is the best time release is the right release time for each track.

45 minutes sounds actually like a lot of fun. Maybe make Le Sarthe about an hour and forty-five minutes maybe? Possibly more?

So if it's just GT1 and LMP1 now, I'd like to race in the #009 AMR DBR9 (gulf livery I think). 👍

I think 1 1/2 hours would be a good length for the Le Mans race.

Maybe I'm the only one who needs a bit more info, but It would be great to clear up a bit a few things:

- What cars can be used?
- What categories can be used?
- Can we use upgrades on the cars?
- Can we use own (or downloaded) tunes on the cars?

I would like to decide what car I'll use, but till I don't know the answers, I can't do any tests. (Oh, if only Diesel cars allowed to use in LMP, I would like to change on GT cars..)
