Well, I bought an NB last month, so that should answer that question. :D

In all seriousness, I had owned an NB before, and I did strongly consider buying an NA this time around. But what clinched it for me was the uptick in performance (both power and agility), and I figured a 10-year-old car would last longer than a 15-year-old car. And either way, I was going to sell my RX-8 and buy a cheaper car, so money wasn't a limiting factor.

The reliability is my main thought, plus I'm pretty partial to the "mini-viper" look :)

Reliability wise I would only be worried about rust... on a 15 year old car most of the throw-away parts have already been replaced and given the reasons you're looking at an old Miata and plans you have for it you're probably going to be slowly rebuilding the car anyway.
Upgrade via attrition... if something cracks or falls off get a new upgraded part :D

p.s. the NB anniversary edition is the one that was only available in purple with a tan top right? I probably wouldn't drive that in Flint unless you're going to go all out and paint a pony on the hood and put some daisies on the wheels. ;)

Why's that?

I worked for FM for 3.5 years and we had three of them come in as salvage cars. All of them from Colorado, and all of them hit really hard. One was literally bent into a "U" shape. Stay away, stay far away.

Oh and question for everyone - if you could buy an na or an nb which would you choose?

NA

Nah this one was blue with blue and black interior. Pretty tacky looking stuff tbh, but it came with the , 16's, the bilsteins, 6 speed, and a hard top. The 6 speed wasn't really a bonus, more just a feature based on what you guys tell me.

edit - hahahaaha turbo that's awesome :D Good to know :P Ok now you have to answer WHY Na over Nb

Classic JDM + Pop-up headlights > Everything else :D

For a daily driver, you might want an NB over the others due to the newer style interior.

The pop-ups... really?

Yeah, they let you wave at other NA drivers but you don't think they're a tacky relic of the 80's? I loathe all pop-up headlights... they generally make every car that has them look stupid when they're out.

Exactly opposite of what I think. I hated when they got rid of them, including the NSX and Corvette and any others that had them. Cars just have cleaner lines when they are retracted.

OK, I'm inclined to agree with you, but seeing as the popups on my first car nearly killed me I have to say I'm pretty neutral on that subject :)

But then they look like cheap plastic bits stuck onto the hood when they're out. Pretty big trade off. (especially on C4 corvettes where the vacuum operated pop-ups would break more often than work)

Well it's usually night time when you have them out. And that is a car from General Motors, what do you expect? :P

God I'm gonna miss being able to talk like that :( I expressed my opinion of domestics while I was in michigan and I honestly thought I was going to die.

Yeah, I didn't mean to say a 15-year-old Miata would be unreliable, especially if maintained. I just wanted a chassis that would last 5 more years.

I definitely prefer the NB interior, but I feel the NA has a more classic look on the outside. And I am a huge fan of popup headlights. :dunce: Porsche 944, Ferrari 355, Stingray Corvette, NSX... and the big daddy, the Lamborghini Countach. Even the FD looked dead sexy with popups.

Back to Miatas... ;) The Nardi 3-spoke steering wheel on the NB is just fantastic, the old 4-spoke had a very cheap feel. I plan to add some color soon to the interior of my NB, since mine is the non-tan package, and all-black is kinda bland.

Question:

Turbo - How long will the series be on hiatus? Have you considered to reboot the series because of the PSN issues and your leave for silverrstone? Throwing the idea out there since it's the summer time and people should be more available.

Ahem, you forgot one -

Mah baby :)
Miata + LSx = Solution. :D

In search of a problem, IMO. :)

Dude, my tc right now has personal plates that say "BABYBLU" on the plates, do you really think I didn't enjoy feelin like they were gonna kill me? ;)

That being said, LSx in any miata we already agreed is sex on wheels.

Ahem, you forgot one -

I already said F355. :sly:

Nah, of course the MR2 goes on that list. I initially forgot the FD, as well.

What I find most ridiculous about LSx-equipped Miatas is the SOUND. It just sounds wrong, even if you think it sounds good, IMO that sound should not come out of that car. :ill:

PSN has a pulse!

http://thegamingliberty.com/index.p...ork-has-a-pulse-service-could-be-online-soon/

The internal developer network seems to be on! This means PSN could follow soon after.

Nothing confirmed yet and this is a small sign but it's the ONLY sign in so long... hopefully it'll be time to re-joice soon.

(Yes I've already posted the link to the PSN outage thread but this is great news for all!)
