Also, I'm going to set up a practice race this weekend for anyone that wants to participate. Track will be a custom kart track, probably 40 laps, on Sunday night around 8pm eastern. We'll just do a pre-race qualification then start by fastest first, etc. I'll post details for the track in the next day or two.

I really like it. Was running 1:10.5xx with sport hard tires, so I expect a few of us to dip into the 1:09's on sport mediums. I like the way the car felt on sport hards though, kind of makes me wish I had done that for the entire series instead of the mediums. :indiff:
 
I would but I'm going to a Drift/Drag event with my brother, so I won't be home until super late. Come to think of it I have lots to do this weekend so I may not be on until Sunday night. :(
 
I am getting ready to start a slightly sober bike tour to Mackinac Island in about an hour but I should be back home and ready to go for Sunday night. 👍

@Turbo - is the kart track the same one you, Coma, and I ran before the start of the season? I think we were running on the course you intended on using for the duals that were on the initial Season 2 schedule.
 
It's a different one actually.

Edit: I'm going to run a few errands and then I'll open up a practice room that will run until about 7pm eastern, or until the NASCAR race starts then someone else can take over if they want. :)

Oh, and I have a new B-Spec driver. You might know him..... his name is C. Norris. :D

Also, to show how awesome Kart tracks are for cars, here's the Targa Miata doing a lap around my hometown track. :)

On a slightly different note - I recently bought Keith's latest book, "How to build a high performance mazda miata mx-5". Pretty good read albeit elementary. He minimized the technical mumbo jumbo usually associated with car forums(at least the ones with quick'ish cars and not rice boy world) and makes it relatively easy for even my high school brother to understand.

Plus there's a bunch of pictures in it. :lol:

You forget what a majority of Miata owners are, and for someone that is new to the crowd a book like that is easier to understand than something full of words. ;)


Also, guys, we're either going to have to run the race tomorrow morning or not at all. I guess my family is getting together for a BBQ tomorrow night so I won't even be home. :(

I did think about my post after I put it out there and was worried I might have come of critical. I wasn't demeaning Keith's work at all but rather complimenting him at writing a book that's easy to understand. He touches up on general concepts behind parts selection and I think the phrase "there is a more technical book out there" comes up quite often. The best part about the book is that anything covered can quite easily be adapted to another car within reason, although he doesn't say so himself.

Participation list updated. Note to everyone that has not responded to my PM yet, if I don't hear from you before the next race on June 12th, and you fail to show, I will delete you from the list.
 
Quick note to all racers:

I will have internet access during most of my trip, however I am not 100% certain how frequently I will be on to check messages. Please PM me if there are any questions or you have an issue.

Also, everyone is welcome to practice while I am gone. Just make sure you set up the practice room as shown in the first post, so that strangers do not take over an FMSC practice room and make it their own.

See everyone when I get back, so we can start racing again! 👍
