GT Class participants: What time is best for you this weekend to run the last race? Will 8pm Eastern work for everyone on Saturday night?

That's right in the middle of the Daytona night race but given that it's a holiday weekend, that will likely be the best time available for everyone.

It really comes down to how many are willing to run. I wouldn't feel like racing if there is less than 10 people starting.

Yeah, forgot about the race. This race is less laps than the Spec race, and the cars are faster so it shouldn't take nearly as long.
 
hey turbo, i was wondering how you were able to record the video from the race of the corkscrew turn. How were you able to keep the camera stationary? I never knew that was possible to do.
 
Yeah, Mule was sitting at the top of the corkscrew just out of sight of the camera. That was the only time I could really get a clean video from him sitting there. The rest of the time he was blaring the horn when people went past. :P

No kidding right? Would make for some cool shots if you knew where to put the car so that it just watched the track with you out of sight. Makes me wish he was sitting there earlier in the race.

I was at the Corkscrew first because I was looking for a place where I had a good spot to see, while being away from any place where a car spinning off wouldn't hit me. Then I moved to the run-off on the left-hander after it because I really couldn't see well at the Corkscrew. Then I noticed REDLINED right beside me, so I decided for some reason I didn't want to finish last, so my pit screw magically repaired my retired car on the spot, and I got going again until I passed him.

Then I realized that the Hairpin was the best spot, really, so I stayed there.

I was honking my horn to see if I could hear myself on Wardez's stream :lol:


Looking back, I probably should have just exited, as I was apparently being distracting to at least a couple of guys, but I'm happy I was able to be a camera car for you guys at least ;)

Although it was cool to have a stationary camera shot, try to lay off the horn a bit? Sam gives us enough of it already. :P

Also, nothing against what you did on Sunday MULE, and this goes out to everyone. For Season 3, people who qualify and start the race will be required to finish unless something catastrophic happens. If you feel like quitting and taking the DNF, go right ahead, just saying my main problem with this is that we had a couple other people qualified who would have loved to have raced in your spot.

No "start and parks" in this series. ;)

Ok then but don't be surprised if I don't pit because I can't afford a second set of tires, or a pit crew to replace said tires. Oh, and get used to seeing a plain white sponsorless Miata puking its vital fluids all over the race track every now and then.

New forums! Gah feels like we started all over again, so fresh.

I'm really glad Jordan and his team went ahead with this. A big thanks goes out especially to all the guys who posted in Cococoma's original thread in the helpdesk.
 
Dr Watson (TnJF) just brought up some suggestions for changes to Season 3, and I've also posted a response that I'd like to feedback on in the Forums at the website. If everyone could drop by and let us know what you think that would be great.

Also, I'm thinking about dumping the forums on the website and using GTPlanet exclusively so that we don't require people to be jumping from site to site for discussions. Agreed?

I was surprised you had a forum on there at all when this one here already has such established visibility. Distancing yourself from GTP probably isn't good.

Sounds like a good plan. The FMSC website's forums can be a bit annoying sometimes with their odd quirks and what not.
 
So then the next question would be, should we continue our discussion in this thread, or should I start a Season 3 Discussion thread in the new "Gauging Interest" section?
