That is what I thought. Thanks RT. I ran a 118.039 this afternoon. Hopefully it translates over to my qualifying session

Yeah thanks for bringing it up, I added a little snippet to the qualifying session regarding your question.

The way this is going I'm lucky if i even make the field! Dang it!

I've got an excel file set up for qualifying with the following information on it. Anything else you guys would like to see on the sheet?

  • Position
  • PSN
  • Car Model
  • Lap 1
  • Lap 2
  • Split from 1st

Family member provisional.

He is so fast cause he has been playing the game since it came out and has the wheel. I have been playing it without just messing around since Monday? Plus (not saying its just this) I'm playing with a controller and cant seem to transition the corners right. I will be as fast as him one day just give me time!

Might have a slight hiccup for the qualifying schedule tonight. Unfortunately I am car-less as some of you know, so I have to rely on someone else's schedule for transportation. I'm going to try my hardest to get home before 7:30 (my time), but it looks like it's not going to happen. I'll get the room up ASAP when I get home, which shouldn't be long after that.

Edit: Nevermind, getting dropped off on time. 👍

Yeah RT, why don't you make it a Google Doc. Spreadsheet?

That way you'd have all the same features as an Excel file but we could see it being updated live.

Here's the one I made for WSGTC:
Super Lap qualifying registry

Previous qualifying results are archived to the right side of the tabs on the bottom. It's really easy to set up and sort the times.

You don't have to worry about having to copy and paste a bunch of times when someone gets a faster time. Google Doc. makes it easy and sorts all the times automatically when you select the time and drivers all together (Use Shift + the arrow keys to highlight) then just right click and sort "A-->Z"
That way it automatically sorts all the times along with the driver by fastest.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-!

Just read the quali. rules Jett. PM RT to figure out what you can do to get yourself qualified. It doesn't absolutely have to be during the set quali. session.

As far as I know, the scheduled qualifying sessions are pretty much just quali. meets where you can watch other people qualify and just kind of be there to feed off of each other.

18.3 with my NB, once. Consistently 18.5 to 19.1, unless I get too excited or push too hard. Who knows what I can get with just two laps to do it.

I am almost as fast with the NA. I think it is just driver preference. With the NA, I don't have any fear of spinning the car out. In fact, I can't get rid of enough rear traction. With the NB, I have to be careful. I chose to go with the NB becasue I had some tuning room left in the car to make a balance between oversteer and understeer. The NA, for me, I ran out of tuning room and it still understeers a bit. But both cars are very close on lap times. I just chose the one with a slight more potential on my driving style using the DS3.

Do you need to know who's qualifying which night, or just show up? I think I'm going tomorrow night.

I'll look into it, but will have to use what I have for tonight at least. Not enough time to figure out Docs before tonights qualifying.

Edit @ Hami: Just show up. Wardez or Brosif will be running qualifying tomorrow.

You can import the Excel file into Docs and it automatically does everything for you.

There's not much to figure out at all if you already know how to use Excel. It's pretty much the same exact thing.

I'm finding that I can go much faster with the na (18.0xx range) and much more consistently...but I love the nb....

If I run the na this weekend am I locked in RT?

According to the rules yes, you're locked in as soon as you quali.

I'd take a good long thinking session about using the NB though.

Do some long stint tire tests and see what the tire wear is compared to the NA.

I think it's worth it....not sure yet...Just ran a 17.826 with draft so it'll definitely be competitive in race especially bc of how fast it is through the twisties....gonna have to pull off a miracle for quali though...

edit: solution - I'm waiting til last minute tomorrow night before qualifying so I can see where the top 16 stand.

Can anyone offer advice on tuning the LSD? I am about a second behind the 18.x pace being set and am looking for any help I can get to catch up.

Yeah I'm qualifying tomorrow too.

But I wasn't talking about pace, just the tires. But I've only ever done like a 16 minute race with the NB so I don't know how bad it drops off after that. What's smart about enforcing a compulsory pit stop is that it evens it up even more.

Whichever car you qualify with this weekend, you're stuck with. Each car has advantages at certain tracks, so just because it's slower at Grand Valley, doesn't mean it's going to be behind the pace at Autumn Ring Mini....

Mine is on default. Can't really say I notice a difference when messing with it.

LSD tuning quick guide:

Initial Torque -- this is the amount of torque required to start locking the diff. The higher the number, the more "open" the diff.

Acceleration sensitivity -- this adjusts rate at which the diff transitions from slip to locking under acceleration. The lower the number, the slower the transition (less likely to understeer under constant acceleration but easier to spin 1 tire)

Deceleration sensitivity -- this adjusts rate at which the diff transitions from slip to locking under deceleration. The lower the number, the slower the transition (easier to rotate under braking)
