BTW, going by the holes in the rear arches, rear diffuser, and beefy chin splitter, I doubt you'll see that car again without a wing on the back of it. Certainly on on a race track. I would suspect those preview shots just don't have the wing since that gets specc'd to the series it has not been entered in yet.

I don't know, here's a picture of the car in it's first race for the season. No wing...

Man, that scaffolding really ruins the look of that car.

yeah, it's gotta be like racing in a bird cage.Should have done like BMW did with the Z4 and just put a hard-top over the scaffolding... Though all reports suggest the car was put together in a hurry. Where function > form.
p.s. you got to be post #1234 :P

Oh come on, it'll be fun. :sly:

Two classes in two separate rooms?

I actually like the idea of different classes on the same track, I think it makes Le Mans really interesting and exciting. I don't think you need rules to force the slower class to move over, either; just get by at your earliest opportunity -- you are much faster, after all. It adds to the challenge, because you can't follow the optimum line on every corner on every lap. This also creates more passing opportunities within your class as cars are forced to follow different lines.

I still think people are taking the game too seriously. :ill: Yeah, if you're NC, you might get stuck behind an NA and lose a few tenths, or if you're NA, an NC might go down your inside and give the guy behind you an opening to pass. That's motor racing! It's a test not only of your absolute skill, but also your grit and determination to overcome obstacles.

Also looks like that aggressive front splitter is not on it in the silverstone photos. Which would make sense since without a rear wing it's just going to make it understeer.

Room up now?
Thanks to shoddy Internet I can't specify a room to join. I made one.

They used the stock wheels during the race too. Weird.

Edit: Anyone know what tires that GT class has to use? I looked up the rule book and it says they have to use Dunlop tires, but it doesn't say what type.

Room not found. Opening new practice room:

Screw it, keep getting disconnected

I think we should do the two cars in one series. But like have them in different classes like; the MX-5 class and the Exige class. and even though they are both on the track who ever is first with that class of car is first in their series or whichever. I dont know just an idea

Was thinking about it more and you can't have two different classes in one room and be able to regulate them properly as you can only set the room up to limit one of them. Won't work.

Ah so its a headroom issue.

Or you can trust them! make sure they are pretty close in power, weight. Watch replays at end. see anything present penalties after the race. (points deductions etc.)

That's the easiest part of running a mixed series my good chum. We came up with a sure fire method in WSGTC to make sure all the different cars (about 10 different specs) are tuned to pre-determined PP limits. All you do is have all the different classes and models stay out in the lobby while you set the PP to the lower class then have those cars go out. After that you set the PP limit higher and higher to accommodate the higher class cars model by model.

Works really well and it keeps everyone in check.

Hard part is testing the different models to make sure they fit into the class evenly by determining the best PP rating for each car to keep all the cars in the same class at the same performance level during a race.
But that's not a problem here because it's only two spec cars.

No can do.

I've heard of it being done before. You set the restrictions to that of the lower class and everyone who races that class enters the track, then you bump the restrictions up for the more powerful class and they go on track. Nobody backs out, everyone fits within two sets of regulations.

Edit: Ninja'd by Wardez.

Hey Graham, do you like trees?

I would be all for a two class race, sounds awesome to me. 👍
