AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH

:grumpy::ouch::grumpy::ouch: :grumpy::grumpy::ouch::grumpy::ouch:

Just to clarify, suicide is definitely frowned upon right?

Sooo I was leading with Egg and Brosif behind me, and coming through the second S's into the sweeper, my rear tire caught the curb where it never has before. Got turned 90 degrees into the inner barrier and put me down to sixth. Turbo and SLC came up behind me and I caught their draft, but Turbo got away somehow. A few laps later SLC gave me a lag-assisted bump draft, putting me up to 114 in the middle of the sweeper, allowing both of us to get Turbo's draft. We battled it out from there with me beating Turbo by less than a car length. Not bad racing, but I was on track to actually win from the pole. :ouch:

Congrats to Egghead coming up from his quali position to put in a win 👍 He really had a textbook run.

I had a good time trying to keep up with counter and Brosif in the beginning then Egg caught up and we had a good pack going then I fell back a bit taking the chicane wrong and had to catch back up over a few laps.

Then all four of us pitted on lap 19 or so but when we came out we were totally spread out way more than how we went in.

After that I caught up to Brosif and was able to get working on the bumpdraft. Blaze was behind us and started helping out too. I also saw Red right behind Egg and assumed at that point that we just lapped them but I was thoroughly confused when I learned that wasn't the case on the last lap when neither of them pitted.

So we had an akward run through the last lap chicane between Brosif, Blaze and I.
I nearly lost it as I got a boost through the chicane to possibly clinch 3rd but I was able to save myself from spinning and ended up side by side with Blaze the last left hander and he had a better exit so he earned a well deserved podium.

Just wished I knew he was in the running .

That was super weird Counter. It was actually me behind Egg. I was right behind egg, about to give him a push, and saw my position jump to 2nd.. I was like, whaaat? I never even saw you go off, I was so buried behind Egg, i didn't see it. That must have snapped you super hard, because I am pretty sure Egg and I didn't let off the gas at all.

Congrats to Egghead for winning the A. And congrats to Stig for the B. Nice work guys!

That was a fantastic race in B room. Honestly based on the damage I saw on the cars in A room when I joined them at the end of the race, the B race looked cleaner! Lol.
When Stig spun I was thinking I'd never see him again, but then he came back for the freaking win! My lord. And by 10 seconds. Geeze.
Good race gents.

Yeah I'm 99% sure it was down to lag of some sort. Egg was surging back and forth behind me and my best laps were no lower than a 102.0, despite my best efforts and my speeds looking completely normal. When I spun it literally felt like the back end of my car got lifted up and thrown in front of me, and before I could even start to counter it I was in the inside wall with front wheel damage.

You can say I'm a little disappointed. :(

Edit: WOAH, the :( smiley has animated tears!

Edit2: Egg, Red, Brosif, do any of you remember what lap all this witchcraft happened on?

^

I am not sure why the lag has been so inconsistent. I actually experienced some intermittent lag with Blaze while we were working together.. but didn't notice it with Egg. I wish I could wrap my head around what causes it.. oh well

Regardless.. super bummer for you, as you were definitely showing yourself as the "fastest" guy heading into the race. Its to bad a freak occurrence like that happened. I run that same line as you, and I have never hooked a tire there, or seen it happen to anyone else.

Yeah I don't even know, my gut feeling is just that the servers on PD's end just aren't quite up to snuff to handle a full grid like ours.

I started the race by making up 5 positions in the first handful of laps. Thought I was going to have a good race, then it went downhill with a spin. Me, Red and BlackIce (and someone else) were having a good battle when Red caught my draft and pulled to the inside to pass me in the chicane. I was going to let him by and tuck in behind him, which didn't work out because BlackIce was already there and I didn't know it. We got together and during my spin I pushed him off the track as well.

Just another one of those racing incidents. I pit immediately after that and concentrated on laying down some quick laps. My car was having major issues braking for turn 1, so a sorry goes out to SLC for running him wide there when I tried to pass. Not sure what is going on there. I thought I could get away but SLC and Counter worked together and caught me with a couple laps to go. Wish I could have kept that 6th spot as that is where I was before I spun. :(

Lots of good racing out there, glad to hear everyone in Room B had a blast as well. On to the Nurb!

(I'll post results and points shortly)

B race was fun I got out to a 4 sec lead over 2nd place a tenth at a time. With no draft i was getting cought so i pitted on lap 17 with 4 sec lead.I came out the pits to some lap trafic in front of me and stig about 2 sec back clearly in my draft. We were both in 4th and 5th place. We exchanged positions back and fourth he even went off track once.We were in a battle for the win with the final laps winding down 34 i believe i cought the grass with my right rear and it turned me into the inside wall at the start finish. My mistake, but it was a great race.It was a good end to a bad weekend.:)

Exactly the scenario I inquired about yesterday, that got zero replies.

I saw you spinning out RT, i tried to push you back straight but then it felt like you got pushed even harder by blaze (he might have not touched us) but I just felt a huge hit right before we went into the grass. Sorry to Red and RT for a few hits on turn one, my brakes locked up and I couldnt turn or stop so sorry for bumping you guys wide, I tried to hold everyone else back to let you guys have your spot back. Tried giving both of you a bump up to your original position to make up for the bumps on turn 1.

I got more to say but dont have time, I'll post more later.

Yeah I just finished watching the replay mostly from your vantage -- it looked like you just started to get a little antsy at the end of lap 33 and dropped a tire into the grass coming onto the start/finish straight while right on Stig's tail.

You actually recovered fairly quickly for a nose-wall encounter and had already caught up to HandofGod by the sweeper on lap 34. Rather than chill for a lap and retake 2nd on lap 35, it looks like nerves got the best of you and you attempted a high-risk pass on the outside but pulled a Stig instead :dopey:

I don't mind, it let me get a podium despite badly botching the chicane twice

Group A race room is now officially closed. If someone wants to start up a practice room go right ahead, just remember to make it fixed host so random people don't take it over when you leave. 👍

If someone doesn't show up for the GT race, can I come in just to watch?

EDIT: B room is closed, too. I was last in.

I was racing for win and only that.I was upset stig and I didnt get to race to the finish line. You can take 50,000 racers stig and i will end up a couple of positions apart if not tied .We seem to always be racing each other no matter what.Just look at gt academy standings.

After viewing the replay, it looks like my spin was a combination of me going off, and BlackIce receiving a bump from behind which knocked him into me, sending me around. Got some time to make up it looks like. :P

Edit: Race results:

Well I found my incident on the replay, it turns out I didn't even hook the right rear, but when the left rear hit the curb it bounced the whole car off the ground. :odd:

👍 to that! Gravy and I have been tight since the day I bought the game :D I don't think we were ever more than 5 spots apart in the academy and it was sad (but a relief :P) to see you spin on lap 33. I watched the replay as well and my god how the pack all navigated through my smoke on lap 1 was impressive.
I have to admit, the 25 second gain from lap 1 to lap 35 was really great as an ego boost since last night's qualy. Great clean racing all around. 👍

edit: just realized my race time would have put me in 5th in the A race:ouch::banghead: Must have been exciting there as well.

i remember two people(probably you two) in front of me going into the last chicane one of you two got the other one squirly and matters where made worse when i touched blackice presumably on the exit. at the time i was was kinda switching back and forth between the side and rear views(curse you PD for not putting a mirror(or 2)on the bumper cam(overhead?) when i switched back to the front i just saw you guys go off and figured i had something to do with it... Sorry guys.

atleast the Indycar Race at Barber had more incidents than we did lol

I originally stated that the winner of the B-Room race would get 5 points and an automatic ticket into the next A-Room race. But seeing as we are on an 18 to 1 points system, I'm thinking 5 points might have been to much. Agree or disagree?

I haven't had a chance to view the replay yet.. but looks like there were some extremely close finishes. 1st and 2nd, 3rd through 5th, and 6th through 9th.

When Egg and I crossed the line I couldn't tell who won. My screen showed me in first as we crossed, then him in first right after, then me, then him.. Then the results came up. Doh.. Great job Egg

Just now watching the replay, if you select RedReevos and watch from the replay angles around the track, it's awesome when everyone goes through the chicane for the first time. Everyone was so clean through there. :D

Almost pays to be fastest of the B rather than slowest of the A? Either lower the B points or give everyone in the A a couple of bonus point for qualifying for the show.

Typically the winner in the b race probably could have made the A race if he had gone for a better qualy lap. Its not like someone would want to hang back so they dont make the A-race and then win the b-race easily to collect 5 points. if you can make the A race you never know where youll finish you might even win( or collect 15 points or so). Someone who's in the championship hunt who consistently qualifies for the a-race could have a bad qualy run and suddenly not qualy for the A room. A win is a win(usually) and it counts for something right?

If someone wins the B race by chance who is just legitamely slow its not like they would be in the hunt for a good finish in the next A-race. So they wouldnt even score that many points to begin with and woudlnt even be a championship contender. ( i think you should even extend the points to the podium finishers in the B race)

I think the 5 points serves to account for a quick driver in the championship hunt who has a bad qualifying day. If hes legit fast he'll qualify for the next A-races anyway and still have a shot at the championship.
if hes legit slow he wont be a factor in the championship tables so whats 5 points gonna do for him?

Think I finally figured out how to use the photo mode.

Last week's very close/tight racing B-group @ Grand Valley:

This week:

Gravy loses it chasing Stig (corner exit before start/finish):

I gamble on a 105mph full throttle inside pass of a spinning Gravy 1/2 lap later:

Lol so since the points thing only affects me as of right now, I thought id throw in my 2 cents. The b room, in race, is not that much slower than room A. Just take a look at the overall race times. I may have been an anomaly this week bc I really had the track dialed in, but I have a feeling that time wise it will always take a better race to win the b race then it does to get the comprable points in the a race.

That being said, qualifying should play a role in points. Perhaps a system where you can't get the b room "bye" twice in a row? That way, if say I end up back in the b race for autumn ring, I won't get the extra 5 points and thus would be effectively removed from the points race.

You could adjust the points so that the B gets 3 points for the win, 2 for second and 1 for third. Last in the A becomes 4 points.
