AWARD THIS MAN HIS 5 POINTS DAMMIT!

I'm still hoping to convince you to let me run my Solstice. :)

At 475pp it's perfect. I can tell because I was running about 1 sec off your pace last night at GP/F, which is about how much slower than you I usually am.

One popped into my UCD yesterday so naturally I had to buy it after hearing you rave about it :P

So what's a good lap in the NC around the nurb? My best after like four laps is 1:14.7**

Egg is running 2:10's....bastard. :P

I'm running consistent 2:11-12's.

My best is a 2'10.780, but I run consistently in the mid 2'11's.

I'm on pace through Schumacher, then between there and start/finish lose 6 tenths to a full second or more depending on tire wear.

Sounds like you need to be more aggressive through the chicane. 2 wheels (just) on FTW!!

I come in there pretty hard usually. Still trying to find the right braking point, as I've been using a strip of bricks along the pavement as my braking point.

Well I can promise you there will be no NBs in the A race this week. No matter how hard you run the thing, even being a full second up through the first two seconds, you lose like two full seconds in the next two sections... sucks.

The sky is 1000x prettier. The solstice was garish in comparison.
I disagree completely. There are 2 Kappas that appeal to completely different audiences. One is a curvy retro-styled roadster that evokes thoughts of British sports cars from the 60s and the other is an angled, edgy, futuristic styled car. I enjoy the exterior look of both of them almost equally. However, the interior of the Solstice is definitely better; the cockpit wraps around you and is much more driver-centric. The Sky interior is more straight and symmetrical and it goes well with the style of the car but makes the driving experience a bit neutered in comparison with the Solstice.

I'd have been happy with either car though, but I got the Solstice because there was no such thing as a Sky back in 2005.

I harbor a hate for the entire Pontiac design aesthetic in general. Kinda glad they're gone. Less plastic body cladding in the world is a good thing.
I'll agree with you there. The Solstice is one of an extremely rare breed of good looking Pontiacs. And honestly, before 2005 I would have laughed in your face if you'd have told me I would own an American car one day.

The reason I fell in love with the car is actually because it was featured in GT4. If anyone has bothered to click the word "might" in my signature you'd see that I won the 2nd week of the Photomode Competition way back in it's infancy. I never even cared about the car before then, but the theme was orange cars and I just so happened to find a good spot to take a picture of the only orange car I had in the game at the time. After winning the competition I was so proud of that little car that I actually gave it a chance. I took it out for a few races and it slaughtered cars in it's class as well as cars that were much better. The thing cornered wonderfully and it had a VERY short gearbox, so the acceleration was astonishing (not great for the Ring with it's top speed of 135 but on small technical tracks it was a monster). I fell in love with the car and it changed my opinion of Pontiac just slightly, but I knew that the bean counters at GM would never let a car like this be made and it would forever be just another cool concept. A month or so later I just so happened to see a Pontiac commercial on TV and "OMG! They are actually going to make that thing?!" I knew I had to have it, so I went to the nearest dealership within a week after doing some research on the internet and plopped down a grand for a pre-order. They finally started production and 6 months later I got to take home my lovely red Solstice.

Okay, I have colours, now.

In support of the Red Wing's (hopefully deep) playoff run, and in support of the Vancouver Casucks, and San Jose Shorks choking like always, my colours are:

Copper Red Mica / CalcitweiB

:D

BTW, I changed my Spec colours last night, and I think you missed my post, so i'll post them again:

# MÜLE_9242 (MULE_9242) - '89 - Blu Cosmo Metallizzato / Burned Orange Metallic

They have a dedicated Solstice/Spec Ford mixed class series in iRacing I've run a few times, really fun and both cars are free with a membership. It should be the closest simulation of your car anywhere. It steps out just a bit on the limit but it's pretty balanced. I'll admit I never liked the Solstice before but I liekd it after running it in iRacing.

Btw, if anyone else has iRacing or wants to try it I race in a drop-in drop-out MX-5 league in the iRacing forums on Saturdays. It's fun 'cause we get to choose whatever tracks we want to run since it's pretty limited in the regular official series. You'd be surprised how fun it is to fight along a pack of cars through Eau Rouge @ Spa. Let me know.

And man, once you lose the draft at Nurb.GPF you're gonna be out of the race.

I suck quite a bit more than you and stig, but my overall lap times were still pretty close NA vs NB last night (2:34s). My NB is illegal with windows though (making full 389pp vs 387) so maybe that's something you want to convince turbo to change?

I doubt 10kg makes that big of a difference.

Yeah I knew it was featured pretty prominently in iRacing and I was excited to see it in their Driving School videos that I keep spamming in hopes that people watch it and improve their technique.

It's a great car man! You'll like it a lot and you'll find that it reaches it's top speed very quickly. A custom transmission is definitely one of the first modifications it needs (This is only the case with the concept car in game, the gears were actually made too long on the production car).

And for anyone still in doubt of this amazing little car, don't take my word for it. Maybe you'll believe the great Keiichi Tsuchiya was quite impressed:

Wardez, if it makes you feel any better, that's likely the only thing I'll beat you in that has anything to do with the Miatas. :P

I will gladly take your setup Turbo, I probably won't stick with it but I don't even know where to start right now.

Hmm... maybe since I'm not gonna be in the race I can just try hotlapping in the GT car and tuning and share results with everyone.
