^^^ Remember to practice with the extra chicane.
That's the format you originally had for GT. It would work just fine and you wouldn't have to scramble at all if you kept it to 16 people. Everyone would show up an hour before the race, run their qualify laps and the grid would be set and you would race. That's why I liked the idea of GT at first because you didn't have to deal with taking 30+ qualify times and the 16 of us could just RACE.I don't want to do that or I'd have to scramble to get the results up and make sure everyone knows where they should be. This way everyone has plenty of time to get it right.
Great idea isn't right? How about a shout out there, Turbo?Running the moto chicane sounds awesome 👍 I'd say more along the lines of a 3 or 4 second penalty since it would mean going flat out through the straight after turn 4.
That's absolutely true... as I pointed out at the start of this post. This series is not friendly for those who don't check in daily...
And even after checking back on the 7 pages I missed I still don't see any mention of what you're talking about until Turbo posted this hours later:lol @last second regulation change for NB
This is really becoming bothersome. I can't speak for everyone and I'm not trying to make things personal, but I chose the NB based on it's handling advantage at ARM and then the track was changed which (regardless of what some of the consistently faster guys say) put the NB at a slight disadvantage. Now you're allowing an additional mod for the NB that might have been significantly beneficial to have for that race. I'm not anywhere in the running for points in due to missing the last race and qualifying sessions... and I'm unsure but I may withdraw from Spec altogether. Regardless, again I just feel that the integrity of the best series at GTP is becoming flimsy with so many changes being made (that may seem inconsequential (again to the fast guys) but may potentially affect many people quite significantly). I really don't want to see this series go downhill, but perhaps this may have affected how many showed up for qualifying this weekend? BTW, there is no mention of the new modification allowance in the first post.NB drivers are now allowed to add the Plastic Window modifications to their cars. This will -10kg and +2PP to those particular cars.
Things have changed a few times since the series started, including qualification (at least for GT anyway)... and referring to previous posts is not how people should have to keep up to date on changes. That's why the first post stays updated (aside from the missing info I just pointed out above). The qualification rules have not changed since the series started. Even if you didn't pay attention to those, the previous posts to yours had the question answered.
I was wondering what was going on with you. I noticed after I had my mishap on lap 1 how far behind the pack you were, so I tried to give you a bump draft but after realizing you were going about 10 mph too slow through every corner I just abandoned my rescue mission and left you for dead. sorry!Took me 6 laps to realize I was on sport mediums. Am I stupid or what?
Anyway, that's what I get for making it to the race at the very last moment.
Great idea isn't right? How about a shout out there, Turbo?

My massive apology to everyone in last nights races:
Ok it may have seemed to some in the Spec race that I was being too aggressive when I wasn't intending to be. I am not justifying the way I drove was acceptable, I to believe I was a bit reckless. I just was super tired last night because I didnt get much sleep the night before so my concentration was very low and missed my braking points quite often.
I am sorry to TNJF, RedReevos, and HandOfGod, and anyone else I bumped but cant remember. There was a few times i was drafting but braked way too late and ended up sliding into most of you, I tried my best to avoid all of you but with this car, when you brake you cant even steer yourself out of trouble, I thought it was better to hope for the best and jam the brakes rather then let off the brakes and attempt to steer away but also likely slamming into someone at full speed. Im sure I cost a few people a good finishing position because of my lack of concentration that race.
Now for the GT race, Since that race was an hour and a half later, I was even more tired and to add on top of that my GF wouldnt stop talking to me which did hinder my concentration even more. I was a lot less aggressive for this race but there was a lap in the beginning of the race where I just completely stopped thinking before the chicane and braked super late and took out probably like 5 to 6 of you guys, I dont know who it was since I didnt check the replay but after that happened I felt super bad and afraid that many of you would hate me. I hope none of you hate me. If GT counts for points, you can put me in last for that stunt. I will take last place for that race because that sorda thing shouldn't be part of a racing room with such mature and professional drivers.
Again I am super sorry to everyone that I have affected in both the Spec and GT race last night.
Hey man, it's ok, everbody makes mistakes. No hard feelings. Replay of the chicane incident is fun to watch!
I'm aware of what you were talking about and I know that is been the same format, I was simply letting you know that there were indeed changes made in some regard.I think you are getting into the middle of a conversation that you didn't fully follow. We were talking about the qualification being on Friday and Saturday. If you couldn't make either of those times, you need to pm Turbo. That has always been the same.
As far as referring to the previous posts, they were the 5 or 6 leading directly to the post. There was no need to go back "7 pages" or whatever you are stating.
Regardless this issue was resolved. All parties have moved on, amicably I believe. So I have no idea why you are bringing this up right now?
I like his thoughts on the penalties too, I just meant for the idea in general.I already gave a shout out to Schaden, who in my opinion had a slightly better idea that we will use.
Hey man, I'm not complaining about adding modifications. I'm just saying that you keep changing things and it throws people off (or maybe even makes them think this series isn't very organized, which is of course exactly the opposite). Maybe it would be better to run the series as it was begun and make notes of any little changes to make the next season better... that's what you did with S1. And as far as you being lazy, I'm not saying that at ALL... just letting you know it wasn't there in case you forgot. Don't get all defensive, it was only a friendly reminder. 👍It's an online racing series. When certain options/ideas are discovered, rules change, obviously to make things for the better. Why you would complain over adding a modification that benefits you is really confusing to me. 👎
Also, I have to edit the photo in the first post to make that change, and haven't been able to do it today. I will do it tonight. I haven't been lazy, just don't have the TIME. The only other two drivers with an NB know about the change already.
I keep the first post up to date the best I can, sorry if it's lacking to your quality standards.
I think you're being a bit dramatic, did you say that to yourself before you responded to the off topic post I made earlier about A-Spec? I doubt it, but I know you're saying it now based on how much text you see below... sorry.Seriously dude, the only time you ever post in here anymore is to complain. Really getting quite old, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that has noticed this. It's gotten to the point where I say to myself "Oh boy, what now" when I see that you've posted. Really shouldn't have to do that.
Absolutely. 👍 And you're doing a damn good job running this series (even with the devil's advocate 'complaining' all the time ).I'm running the series the best I can, and even take suggestions from the competitors to make it THE best series on these forums. Despite lack of recent attendance, I believe that we have achieved what I set out to accomplish. The average margin of victory in my signature really tells the story. 👍

GrahamTurismoI post much less in this thread now because when I DO post I try to stay on topic as much as I can. Whenever you see one of my 'complaint' posts, it's because I have thoughts on the series that I feel like I should share.
GrahamTurismoAnd just because I have an opinion that contradicts yours (most of the time that's not even the case, I just have a tendency to play devil's advocate) doesn't mean I'm complaining. As I even mentioned, I'm probably just going to drop from Spec... but that doesn't mean I'm going to just ignore the fact that constantly changing things affects others. Sure there are a handful of people that are always happy with the changes, but there are others that feel the effect on a significant scale, and maybe they don't feel comfortable bringing it up.
GrahamTurismoIt's been alluded to by some that they didn't know of a change or they missed something or they are too busy with life to keep up with this thread on an hourly basis and sift through pages of meaningless chit-chat to see what's happening with the series. If they don't have time to keep up with the thread then they certainly can't take the time to 'complain' about how they feel wronged by some change you've made, so that's why I feel the need to be the voice of those who are adversely affected and take the heat so to speak.
GrahamTurismoI've had plenty of positivity for this series and always try to offer constructive criticism of what's going on. Hell, I even made a short URL that I spam in all the practice rooms when random public people join and start asking questions, so I'm even trying to help expand the popularity of this series. But I don't get any thanks or recognition for it... at least Egg put the URL in his PSN signature. That's honestly the ONLY time I've ever seen someone besides me use it. And BTW, there have been 28 people to follow that link in less than a month.
GrahamTurismoAbsolutely. 👍 And you're doing a damn good job running this series (even with the devil's advocate 'complaining' all the time ).
👎I'm making changes on the fly with this one because the likelihood of another season happening is very slim. Consider it a last hurrah so to speak.
Think of it as me keeping you on your toes. They are going to drill you even harder at Silverstone to see if you crack under pressure, I think you'll manage pretty good... just keep your cool. It's just sad that it comes to that. I really don't want to think that, but the way your posts come across lately it just seems like it's a never ending battle.
I don't mind everyone sharing their thoughts, but try to make them a bit more positive? I just don't like it when it seems someone is jumping down my throat over such minor issues.
I know it's not the way to do it, but I'm not the only one that feels some of the changes are frustrating. I wish others would be more vocal if they aren't cool with how things are working. If it's effecting someone they need to speak up. That's the only way we can make this series better. If nobody speaks up, then I'm just inclined to make the change and everyone will have to deal with it. And having one person be the voice of everyone is not the way to do it.
I know you mostly keep everything updated. Maybe some people forget to check post #1 though? And as far as re-doing the picture... Honestly just a little blurb under it that the new mod is allowed would suffice. As stated before, I try my best to keep the first post updated. If something is Official, I'll put it there. Most of the time we are just throwing some ideas around and sometimes go nowhere. The Plastic Windows for the NB was a decision I made before Sunday's race to help make them a little more competitive. I just haven't had the time yet to edit the modifications picture. I will do that tonight.
bit.ly/gtp-sm2 (I made it easy to remember)I never use it because I don't usually have it readily available or really ever have anyone ask about the series.
You just need a break, I'm sure you'll start another SM series after a while... but I get a feeling you're gonna be on a LOONG break from GT5.Unfortunately due to lack of motivation and my longing for having my weekend nights back, this will probably be the last season unless a well qualified person wants to take over.

Calling all Tank Cars, we neeeeed you!
Edit: Never mind, we're done. But Brosif did have lift off ;]
👍I'm aware of what you were talking about and I know that is been the same format, I was simply letting you know that there were indeed changes made in some regard.
I only mentioned 7 pages in relation to how much I needed to catch up on. Maybe that's why I was bringing this up, because I was so far behind that I just now noticed it.
Not trying to start anything here.
I like his thoughts on the penalties too, I just meant for the idea in general.

Whenever you see one of my 'complaint' posts, it's because I have thoughts on the series that I feel like I should share. I refrain from discussing who I prefer in the next F1 race or how well my favorite hockey team is doing because it is irrelevant to the discussion. I know you're proud that you have the two biggest threads in the sub-forum, but certainly you realize that it's because more than half of it is fluff.
And just because I have an opinion that contradicts yours (most of the time that's not even the case, I just have a tendency to play devil's advocate) doesn't mean I'm complaining. You're damn straight we had lift off! Look at that Fireblade fly!
Oh, sorry for the fluff everyone.
^ now tell me how many tries did you do to capture that moment?
Something I just thought of:
I HAVE to go to a family Easter thing Saturday night, so we're going to have to move qualifying around. Would Saturday morning work OK for everyone?
you need to polish your ninja-edit skills.i kinda edited my statement before this so waita jump the gun
i edited it 3 times
Absolutely not! You only gave five days notice, that is unacceptable!
On a serious note, Saturday morning works for me.
Snifferdeegloople
Huh?
I got laid this weekend, I'm allowed to say anything that makes sense to me
