Saturday qualifying has been moved up to 2PM Eastern. I Added a rather large announcement at the top of the OP. Hopefully that's visible enough for Graham. :dopey:

You're damn straight we had lift off! Look at that Fireblade fly!

Oh, sorry for the fluff everyone.

Wow. . . Brosif, can't believe I didn't think about this, but... Let's get a main picture for FLYIN' miata! Yeeeeeeeah~

Wankel, Entroper, SLC, Hand, Welsh, I know you're reading this so GET IN HERE!

Something I just thought of:

I HAVE to go to a family Easter thing Saturday night, so we're going to have to move qualifying around. Would Saturday morning work OK for everyone?

Thats going to prevent me from qualifying at all. I cant qualify on Friday night cause I work third shift. Saturday morning/afternoon is my recovery day from working third shift all week long. So I wont be able to participate at Tsukuba. Guess I see you at Laguna Seca.

^ PM Turbo, so that he can set-up a room for you mid-week. That's what I did last week.

I should be available all week after 10pm eastern.

Does moving quali up on Saturday confirm you wont be racing Integras?

I won't be home Saturday night, so probably not.

Edit: I know the Integras run earlier in the day, but I still think it will be hard for me to make it.

Just wanted to say that the GT race was a blast at Nurb' GP/F. 👍 A great first half ran with Brosif, then a fine battle with Turbo for 2nd place in the 2nd stint. Thanks for the room into the chicane on the final lap Turbo and thanks to dsgerbc for spinning in front of us at the run to the line, ensuring I held on to 2nd :sly:

Managed to watch the replay and looked at the pit stops of Brosif and me. From when the CPU took over on entry, to when it gave control back at the pit exit, there was roughly a 2.5s difference!! I think Brosif's was around 34s and mine about 36.5s. Now if I'm doing something wrong, then fine, but anyone got any idea, or is it purely random? I did give up the slight 1-1.5s lead I had with a sloppy lap 14 before pitting, but only gave that time back and should have re-joined on Brosif's bumper! lol

@Turbo, how did yours compare as you pitted with Brosif? Anyone else look at the time taken in the pit?

Still, it was a great race with some great driving, thanks again guys.

Unfortunately, I may not be able to make the next 2 weeks as my family are flying in to visit from the UK (Mum and Step-dad) and Australia (Brother) this week. But, rest assured I'll be there if I can and if not, I'll see you all at Laguna! :)

I came in the lap after Brosif, so I couldn't really say without seeing the replay. I haven't watched either race yet.

And it sucks you won't make it. Seems there's a lot of that happening lately. Another one of the reasons I don't really want to do this anymore. People sign up then never race. Not your fault I know, you have obligations, it just seems to be going around lately.

Edit: If I do another season (unlikely) I probably will not hold a regular registration. It will be a week by week affair where the first 16 people to fill the room get to race and everyone else is out of luck...

And your family is definitely spread all over the place. I thought my family was far apart.

Spreadsheet results look great 👍 ...especially with my name at the top of the Spec one
Unfortunately I'm one of those people who are going to be missing a round, so my chances of staying at the top are very slim :irked:

lol, you must be going  with runnin' all this and Silverstone just around the corner, as you definitely pitted on the same lap as Brosif. I pitted alone the following lap and came out just ahead of you, then let you by on the run to the hairpin as I was still on cold tyres and figured that would give us our best chance of chasing down Brosif (however, he was too damn quick! lol).

I'm sorry that I will probably be absent, I didn't even think about it when I signed up and had every intention of runnin' the full season with such a talented group. :guilty:

Yeah, not sure why it was such a low attendance this week, but I know the connection issues haven't helped either. Hopefully this will get resolved soon. The numbers are still good though buddy, so don't lose faith. I think this was a challenging track too and quite long for the Miatas, which may have put a few off, but I'm sure Tsukuba will be busy, whether I make it or not. :)

Family is about as spread out as it gets, but it will be great to get us all together. My Brother left the UK for Perth, then 2 years later I left for Canada (2 years ago)! My mum was wondering what she'd done wrong!!

EDIT: Spreadsheets do look good too, forgot to say.

This is unacceptable! The thread actually made it to page 2 of the online racing subforum. I think it is time for a rousing speech from our fearless leader. 17 qualies for the last race? COME ON! I'm severely disappointed in you all. :P

Second page? SECOND page!? Come on guys!

I don't really have much to say, so.... what kind of times at Tsukuba have you guys been running?

Edit: Great minds think alike Stig. :P

:dopey: This is like the 3rd time this has happened. We need to spend some time apart.... :P

My best is still the 10.3 I ran last night :( Lol and a pathetic 59.8 for gt

I don't know... what kind of times have you been running at Tsukuba? :sly::cool:
Infinite loop is infinite.

As long as it's marshmallow fluff. ;)

Also: holy crap that thing is massive! Do I have one of those? ...I do, sweet. 💡 Tank Car Spec Race?

I can see it perfectly fine, lets just hope that all the people who somehow miss the thread title every time you mention a first post update don't miss it this time.

The GT race was good fun! These little cars feel like our Spec Miatas hopped up on Mountain Dew (EXTREME!!!) and cocaine, super fun to drive.

Turbo was about two or three seconds back from me (just out of my draft) when we entered the pits. When we exited, it didn’t appear that he was in my draft and he seemed to be about the same distance back on the map as when we entered. I was hoping to gap you enough to break the draft so I really pushed on my out-lap and I knew with the tires falling off around lap 12 or 13 it would be hard for you to run a clean in-lap.

I know it has gone both ways for me in the pits and I really don’t know what the secret is to a fast pit delta time. As an example, in the Spec race I entered the pits a lap before Turbo while only trailing by less than a half of a second, which is the same situation as the GT race. I ran a solid out-lap and even had some help from redreevos who offered some much appreciated bumpdrafts. Despite this, Turbo exited the pits on the next lap and he was far enough ahead that I was no longer able to pick up his draft. The only reason I caught Turbo was because of a mistake he made coming out of the hairpin at the bottom of the hill.

On a personal note, I am rather proud of my drive in the GT race. I usually make a mistake under pressure that is big enough to erase any chance of winning. I had a pretty big moment in the first half while following Welsh, but I managed to save the car and keep my focus. My performance in the second half is particularly encouraging as I managed to run mistake free laps in the 2:10.XXX range for a dozen or so laps with Turbo and Welsh in hot pursuit. Hurray!!!

My car was still super-free coming out of a few corners so I couldn't get the power down as soon as I would have liked. Assuming your car was still on the same setup that gave you a 2:09.xxx in practice, you definitely had a bit more speed than Welsh and I. That and I was getting super tired, which didn't help any either.

Good run though. 👍

I was running the same setup that Egg gave me. Which was SCCA Spec Miata spring rates (12.5F, 5.8R) and to slam the car all the way to the ground. Other than that, I think I am running -2.0F and -1.8R camber with neutral front toe and a little toe-in at the rear.

Unfortunately, I never got into the 2:09s during practice nor during the race. The fastest I could muster was a 2:10.2XX a few times but I still think it is possible with the setup I was running, it would just take a better driver. I was happier with the fact that I could run 2:10s during the race while still looking after the tires. Hopefully it will transition to Tsukuba.

So everyone is remembering to practice with the Moto Chicane, right? :sly:

I'm going to hop on tonight and get some practice in so I can start figuring out which line to take through there.
