SO i bought the Skyline pace car in GT5 so if we ever need a pace car i can in a race sometime.. i can be that car!

Also, Do we just run the moto chicane or is there a tsukuba track that has it include in?

Isn't that from Transformers? You fail. 👎

There isn't a separate track that includes the chicane. You just have to run in on your own.

Last night SLC, Turbo, Jett and I had some pretty good races at Tsukuba. The racing will be very tight and passes will take some extra planning as the effect of the draft is minimal compared to that experienced on previous tracks. I made a pass on Jett that started with me diving inside of him in the last hairpin, where we then proceeded to race side-by-side down the backstretch, through the last corner, down the front stretch and into Turn 1 before I was able to complete the pass. We never touched once and we didn't lose contact with SLC and Turbo who were battling in front of us.

Maybe some Tsukuba lap times will get people talking (my personal bests):
Spec NA: 1:09.475
Spec NB: 1:09.248
GT NC: 58.775

I found it very easy to run consistent mid to low 1:09s with the NB. I feel you have to work a bit harder with the NA to get the car to run consistent high 1:09s as the car just isn't as good as the NB mid-corner or on the brakes.

The GT NC is just a beast and a riot to drive on the limit!

Speak to me!

How is that fail? I was pissed when jazz died in the first movie ;) Only car I actually liked....Although now I'm in love with that damn camaro..

Since the draft is pretty minimal, I'd say the nb has a definite advantage on tsukuba :) I wish everyone ran the chicane now, it makes the track so much more interesting. Still haven't perfected my line through there though.

The nc race will be crazy. The car seems like it's made for tsukuba. Feel like it'd be a ton of fun on suzuka full as well :)

that fits my experiences in the past that the braking zone for turn1 is really the only place on tsukuba suitable for passing.
although if you keep your cool brake early it is also easy to do an over-under to defend and re-pass on exit.

I disagree actually. Plenty of places to pass. Whether or not you can make it stick without taking each other out is another thing.

well, you can grab the apron on turn 3, but a spin is likely + you're then on the outside for turn 4 with less speed... so that's ill fated. the third hairpin works if you get the inside line but then you have lower exit speed and get passed back on the straight. so aside for turn 1 you really need a mistake from the other car to make it stick.
dont know how the chicane affects things though.

Chicane definitely affects things, if you take that pass on the inside of turn 3 you end up on the inside for the chicane. That way, when you come out on the little straight you have a run for the high line going into the third hairpin :)

sounds like you need to plan that pass pretty far in advance.
start your move @ turn 3, go 2 wide through turn 4, then eat 'm under braking into the chicane, and hope it sticks through the final hairpin to the back straight? :embarrassed:

:) mmhmm makes for some reaaaaally fun racing. The miata actually feels fast here

the moto chicane will seperate the men from the boys :sly:

I'm a big boy :D

On a separate note, if turbo does end up not running another season (which would be very sad :( ) I would be willing to take the reigns as long as I had a partner in crime :) If people are tired of miatas by that point (sacrilege!) then I'd be more than willing to start up a spec series with another car (s2k, 370z, rx8 etc.)

Just a thought :) Just don't wanna see this series/idea die :D

Another side note, Jett and I ran some NASCAR cars at Le Sarthe last night and it was a blast. :D

And these random chumps came into the room expecting to race Spec Miata -Pfft, I don't get what that was about. Haha, but indeed! An idea for an upcoming race perhaps?

I might set up something for Wednesday of next week. ;)

Yeah how IS that fail? I was sad when Jazz died too. I'll admit that the Clubracer was an interesting choice for Jazz but the only real fail was that they made him a ghetto breakdancer.

In A-Spec, I've managed the over-under as well, but haven't tried it online yet...

Lol I just loved how when he first got to the dealer he looked right past the sky that was right there ;)

I'm doing consistent 1:12.xxx's to 1:13.xxx's in the stock NA (still breaking it in). Am I going to find 2-3 more seconds once I bring it up to full spec?

Hmm... stock Sky or Solstice Clubracer? Doesn't seem like a tough choice at all. However, if it was me, I'd probably have picked the XLR that was there over either Kappa. :boggled:

Nah my 1:10.4xx's have all been with a 134 hp, 385pp NA with no lsd tuning :/ This track is all about line.

Oh god what a beautiful car. Cadillac really messed up by not making more of them IMO.
