So I stopped watching one of the race replays and got a "Cannot connect to server - 2.0" message or something. Couldn't figure it out so I shut off my PS3 and started it back up. Now I can't sign into PSN.

WHY DIDN'T I READ THIS?!?! Thank god, I spent a good chunk of time trying to fix my connection only to find out the server's down.
Edit: On a side note, thanks to this, I'll no longer have loading in/connection/invisible driver problems ^^ I fixed a couple of things that should of been switched on to begin with.

Hm, maybe you should gi ve details on how you fixed that so other people an try it :tup Glad you got it squared away though.

The servers aren't down, that's just the PSN crap that's been going on for a while now. This week seems to have been the worst.
Best solution I've figured out is to shut off the PS3 and turn it back on. You'll probably get the 80710092 error. Log into a different account, that one should connect just fine. Now log back into your proper account. Everything should work fine. Until you join an online server and then leave back to the GT Life home screen... then you'll get the "=2.0 error" again. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Apparently it's a PSN issue and Sony is "working on it". I'll try your solution tomorrow night Graham. I'm going to bed..

or the crazy WTF! moment I had when two cars went sliding by my front end and into the wall of the chicane. Miracle I made it out of that right behind RT.

I concur. This is exactly the same behavior I've seen.
Though you don't need to log in with a different account. Once I get the error from it failing to auto sign in at startup I just manually go to account in the XMB and hit sign in. Goes through no problem and then I can join 1 room before I have to clear cache, reboot, repeat.

Regarding the rx spec/gt series - Every time I get in an rx7 I feel like it needs to go sideways, but could still be very fun regardless I'm thinking we would restrict it to the premium models for at least season 1. I'll be solely focusing on testing spec cars to make the three (maybe 4?) even. I'd love to see a race with only wankels on one track

Even if there is, we can just use a different car. I doubt anyone else will have a spec series organized as well as this one.
Edit: My vote would be against the RX- series, not really a fan.

I want in on an RX series... but which car? I love them all, but I've never been a HUGE fun of the FC in comparison to the others, the FD is super tail happy, and the RX8... well it's an RX8...

I thoroughly enjoy the NC where it's at right now, I get kinda bored with how slow Spec is in comparison.
And BTW, the [top secret] car for my series will be fully modded with everything so I won't have to worry about people running illegal mods and stuff.
It just seems easier that way and less stressful, amirite?

That was my thinking with the Thursday Night BMW Racing I'm hosting. The cars are all different anyways, so I wasn't looking to have a true spec race anyways
Oddly enough, I think I'm going to drive my stock (or nearly stock) BMW's since they feel the best to me.
I guess those BMW engineers knew what they were doing
The only way to do a true stress free spec series is to allow full mods, or just base it around one of the recommended garage cars.

And if you trust the drivers you are racing with there shouldn't be any need for fear or suspicion of cheating. All we're racing for is bragging rights and pride and how prideful can you be if you are a cheat?

Just a heads up guys, Sony has said it may take a couple days to get PSN working again. If this is the case, we may have to postpone this weekend's race.
