I see they're playing the "exclusive" launch day DLC card again.

BTW, excellent write up 1081. And before all the photo junkies get all worked up over how good those shots look. Remember that you all saw these incredible pictures before FM3 was released that were supposedly taken in game. But weren't.

Those cars look spot on, finally sorted the lighting engine so they have that deep showroom shine, although after the bullshots Forza has pulled in the past I'l have to see what it really looks like in game. Amazing also that they have already released the boxart and so much information, plus its coming out so soon! That's some efficiency!

The fact you can import your FM3 vinyls makes we want to go and get a 360 with FM3 right now to start work because that's pretty much where I would spend most of my time! :sly:

Robin.

The lighting looks great. How is this on the same console as Forza 2? Back then, it looked sooo horrible.

Forza 2 looked real good for early 2007. Sure, four years later it isn't so impressive, but for four years ago it looked good.

Nice cover and better than FM3's but that wasn't difficult either.

I'm not exactly blown away by the cover. Seems pretty generic to me, but so many racing games have similarly uninspired covers.

Jesus. Amazing what those guys can do in only 2 years.

A lot more than PD do in two years, that's for sure. Kaz would be crying about how he needed more than just half a decade to get it done.

Very very nice, Lets hope Turn 10 dont do a PD though and give us different level's of looking cars! I want all 500 cars looking like that!!!

I expect more than 500 cars, to be honest. FM3 launched with over 400, and then had more released as DLC, and I expect every single one of those cars to appear in FM4 and then some new ones on top of that. Just the total collection of FM3 cars, including DLC, must account for 500-ish by now.

I just hope they continue with a cockpit for every car.

This isn't PD we're talking about. I see no reason for any car in FM4 not to have a cockpit, considering 100% of FM3's cars had cockpits.

That's pretty damn good. I'm still waiting on news of Aussie cars though. The RUF RGT-8 will be cool though. (That's a V8 911 for those who were unawares).

This Ruf talk has me nervous though. I hope this doesn't mean they were unable to secure Porsche this time around. Can only mean EA are really turning into some huge A-holes if this is the case.

Turning into? They're already c***blocking PD.

Ah, that takes me back... I believe we got 500 posts in that "Please fix the cockpits" thread before Dan Greenawalt pulled the Big Handle :D

LMAO. It's a shame all those threads got censored like they did. Was some great reading in those threads. You had the huge one about all the half done cockpits. Then there was the monster that was the custom lobby thread. Think that one got to 150 pages or so before they decided that if they deleted all the threads and banned half the old community that the problems would just go away.

Still cracks me up when I go to fm.net and read how they're still trying to prop up the hoppers.

Adding Ruf, on top of Porsche is a win win IMO.

As for the cars in those photos, of course they won't look that way in game while you are driving. Those are in a photomode. Every racing game throws out trailers and photomode shots and the cars never look that good while racing in game.

I figured everyone was used to that by now, for as long as racing has been turned into a video game.

Just read that guys blog post above about FM. One of the worst I have read.

Porsche was supposedly shown just after the Pontiac logo in the leaked trailer, but it was just hard to see.

Autumn!? So it'll be released in the next four days?

I won't judge this game until I've watched enough youtube videos. FM3 just looked too plasticy & incomplete.

Yeah, probably not the most thorough way to judge a video game, but you can still learn a great deal from watching gameplay footage. Saves me from buying a whole new console, too.

I'll be honest, I'm looking forward to FM4. It already looks like a massive step forward from FM3.

That 🤬 looks too real!:crazy:

Definitely getting Forza 4 now. Just wish I had a Fanatec!

I hope in forza 4 they allow the full range of teh Fanatec to be used...in forza 3 only about 540 degrees can be used for the game to register the wheel. good wheel non the less

That is FM, not F3.

That could be true, but it first made its appearance on FM3 artwork, often without an accomanying '3' digit.

The three white bars led most people to think that they represented III, the other analogies like a racing line over kerbs and the rev-needle are obvious.

It's not until we've seen the same logo on FM4 that we're realising it wasn't what we thought... like many prerelease aspects of FM3 :D

As a PWTS owner, This is completely untrue. If you boot the system and wheel up in the correct order, and the wheel is set to 900deg when it boots up, you get the full 900deg of the wheel to use.

Well said that man. Also if you change from 900 degrees to 540 degrees or less and vice versa you should always power off the wheel and power it back on to make sure it works correctly.

I was going to buy it anyway, but being able to bring across my vinyls, well, that's the icing on the cake. Can. Not. Wait.

Now, I'm not much of a painter. And it drives me crazy that painting has taken so much of the focus of the game while they've cut feature after feature after feature that racers loved. So, maybe I'm seeing this with more of a critical eye than I should.

But, carrying over paints and credits from 3 to 4 might not be as good a idea as some would think. To me, it just means that the same crappy anime and spammed stuff from FM3 that clogged up the storefront are going to be there on day one on FM4. Also means that the same people who played Forza tycoon that were freely able to buy all the really expensive cars the average racers couldn't are going to have a garage full of the 20 million credit cars on day one as well. While the guy who just races will be forced to grind away for months on end just to get one of them.
