If 2016 has been Attack of the Clones, given the predisposition towards silver, grey and black (or, if you're Mercedes, all three) liveries, then Force India is A New Hope:

Either it's orange and green (I'm guessing there) or it's been designed by someone who has no idea what a racing car is supposed to look like.

Since we're absolutely headed to the most blase and matte/dull racing season (livery-wise) in history...I hope something with colour.

I thought teams would want to stand out with bright colours on TV, especially the mid pack cars. But no, they all go with dark + silver/grey. The only odd one out is Williams.
Force India had a great opportunity with the green and orange to make something interesting. Any of the livieries from the VMJ02 to VJM07 would do.

Yeah, whoops. Brain fart.

I still maintain there is far too much grey/black on the grid. The blue that Red Bull use is pretty dark, but at least they have the giant yellow section on the top.

That's pretty much the consensus. Between McLaren, Force India, Renault and Mercedes, silver, grey and black account for about 40% of the grid. The lone hope is that Renault use more yellow for their racing livery.

And the frustrating thing is that only really Mercedes have any sort of history with that colour. McLaren ran silver when they had Mercedes power, but could use anything now.

Dunkin' Donuts? M&M's? Surely there's got to be a junk food company with a few hundred million dollars in sponsorship money lying around...

It's just odd. Whilst I never get the idea that any American team ever should be a rolling stars and stripes or something suitably American, this team is still called Force INDIA. The country is known for bright, interesting colour and two of them are on their flag. So why would you then make your car 90% black and grey? For the sponsors?
