Formula 1 2016 Grand Prix Of Europe

I saw him clip the wall, but hamilton pulled a Verstappen at Monaco. Dunno if it's what you meant but it was 100% driver error

What?

I'd say it's a slight hit on both occasions. For example look at what Ricc did earlier this weekend on virtually a straight part of the track slightly hitting the wall with his back tire and thus breaking suspension. Same here for Lewis and could have been the same for Nico. But Nico has a bit of luck today, and put in a great pole lap. Also every hit I've seen here is driver error, not sure why you've stated the obvious.

Lol my bad I was half paying attention to what I was typing there. :P Was watching Le Mans. Yeah Nico did get lucky with that hit. I think Lewis just hit at the wrong angle while Nico was side by side with the wall

Perez gets a +5 grid penalty for a gearbox change... but he did well

"That wall has been there all afternoon." DC on Lewis's exit from Q1

Wait a sec - is Perez actually, seriously P2?
I think he's got a 5 place grid penalty following a gear box change so he'll start lower in the race. Bit of a shame really, I wonder what would happen in the race had he started from there.

Edit: Tree'd twice?!

Gearbox change will bring him down to 7th for the race though :(.
Ryk

Thanks guys. Kinda surprised nobody mentioned on it on my Twitter...

I'm genuinely looking forward to this race though, which is a nice change for F1.

I think at this track it is actually harder to keep it out the wall than at Monaco or Singapore. If it was wet I think no one would finish.

It is going to make for a great race.

Would have been cool to see a Force India on the front row. On a side note the field seems to be shuffled around a lot after qualifying. Renaults on the back row, Manors in 17/18, Perez on the front row(time, obviously penalty will change that). If Baku can become a wildcard, anything can happen type of race then I am all for it on the calendar.

From what I can tell, can't even assume whoever leads off T1 will win the race. Wouldn't shock me if we see a front runner have a moment of understeer and smack the guardrail or have a costly lockup that cost them precious seconds while they turn it back around.

Worst Lewis qualifying for a while, Not to bad though provided he survives the first corner a podium will be very easy with how the Mercs are so far ahead of everyone.

Wonder if Pirelli will replace his flatspoted tyres, but he needs to focus alot, i think him going off in a corner tomorrow isn't too far fetched. Someone will tomorrow though and like stated before hopefully there is a better way to clear the track, we could have a record for most vsc uses for a race tomorrow.

Why would they do that? That would give him an advantage over the rest of the field.

There must be some law about not allowing a driver to start a race in a dangerous condition or in a dangerous car. Indy 2005 springs to mind.
