The great tradition of US Car park circuits continues with a purpose-built circuit in the parking lot of the Miami Dolphins' Hard Rock Stadium, with the focus on racing and interesting corners. With sections inspired by other circuits and areas trying to use the blank canvas of a parking lot to make some fast sweepers, this track has potential to be one of the better brand new Liberty circuits on the calendar. Miami is a major destination city which Liberty have wanted to crack for a while, and finally made it. Will the race last longer than Formula E's abysmal attempt to race there in 2015? It is currently 2-2 between Verstappen and Leclerc for race wins after the start of the season. Red Bull appear to have the advantage down the straights, with Ferrari being better in the corners and also having better reliability, but drivers who have spun off 3 times in the last two races. Is the recent title-fight experience of Red Bull going to come to the fore in the long run? Can Mick Schumacher and Nicholas Latifi score some points, as they are the only two drivers left who haven't scored yet. We'll find all this out at the MIAMI GRAND PRIX!

I think this will be a hit. Interesting layout, could be quite bumpy, looks like some good passing opportunities at various points.

Also, is this the first circuit designed with the new cars in mind?

Arguably the gimmickiest Grand Prix there has ever been... so far.

I doubt we'll regret never going with the Nashville Street Circuit-style layout instead of this stadium lot, but I sure hope this doesn't end up being Sochi dressed up as Yas Marina.

The track as a whole already looks like a combination of Sochi and Jeddah, but especially turns 11-16 are pure nightmare fuel. Hoping for the best though. Even if that means chaos and shenanigans.

A cool video showing off the circuit. Seeing the roads it has to navigate makes the chicanes of T14-16 at least palletable as you can see quite clearly why it had to be like that, but also makes you wonder why they couldn't have avoided that section entirely anyway ..

Yes Marina = Yas Marina
No Marina = Miami Circuit = Also, No More Dan Marino.

If it rains, you won't have to worry about fake water.

Just a perspective on how far outside the city it actually is. No wonder they felt they needed fake water.View attachment 1145945

Grand Prix of Opa Locka sounds more exotic. (It isn't.)

I suppose everyone missed the humidity of Sepang, so I hope this makes up for it.

"Whenever" is about right for Florida.

It can alternate between heavy rain and sunshine 4 times in a day from March to October.
Could also be at risk for a hurricane, but now is a BIT too early for that.

Yeah way early for hurricanes, but almost any other weather is pretty legit for Miami. I'm not understanding the fake water/boat thing though.

It's interesting to see that there is Red Bull trackside branding. I don't think I've ever seen them do that at F1 event before - even at a circuit they literally own!

I do hope those overpasses are closed over the weekend. I do not trust Florida Man to avoid joining the race unexpectedly with a stupid plunge from above.

Taking bets on what occurs first in the weekend, a sudden downpour or a golden shower?

Florida Man will have a SunPass, though.

They've probably closed the Turnpike exit for 199th.

I have no doubt all 3 overpasses will be closed. The track crosses the Turnpike Access road at 199th, across an entrance ramp at T14, & T16 is right at the entrance/exit to the Turnpike from 203rd street where the main straight runs along. So, the only thing you can access from those overpasses is 2 parking lots, one of which is already covered in trailers & equipment, and I'm sure the grass one will be track workers.

I hear some of the tickets for the fake marina are 30 grand. That’s almost as bad as paying 1200 for a GA ticket. 😂

Looking forward to seeing the Vegas prices next year.

People are mocking the fake water but to be honest I'm impressed on the job they've done sprucing up what is basically a parking lot. Looks far more interesting and pleasing on the eye compared to something like Sochi which is just grey and depressing.
