"Without the ability the overtake"? Zandvoort had more overtakes than Monza and Mexico last year. Not to mention Hungary, where overtaking has been very possible this year. And that was with a shorter DRS zone.Could be but without the ability to overtake in Zandvoort quali will show some more.
Not sure which race you saw but equalish cars couldn't overtake each other. Max started P1, Ham P2, Bot P3, Gas P4, Lec P5 and they finished in the same order. The only overtake was Max after pitting Lap 22 he overtook Bottas on Lap 30 (Bottas on 30 Lap old tires). Wow."Without the ability the overtake"? As the article mentions, it does sound a bit like crossed wires. It seems like Ted was told they were going to break.Did anyone witness the bizarre Sky moment in P2 where Croft threw it to Ted and Ted refused to do his report, suggesting it was a good time to take a break instead. Croft then accused him of trying to produce the show and asked him to please commence his report. At this point an already awkward situation got even moreso as Ted basically pouted like a first-grader and refused to do his job. Eventually the actual producers took mercy and did cut to commercial. I have never seen anything like that before on professional television.
No part of this is relevant. No one would say that overtaking is impossible at Monza or Mexico, so if Zandvoort had more overtakes than those tracks last year it clearly isn't impossible at Zandvoort either. Add to that the fact that the 2022 regulations seriously improved racing at Hungary, a similarly tight track, and that Zandvoort has a much longer DRS zone now, and overtaking will definitely not be impossible. Just hard. Not sure which race you saw but equalish cars couldn't overtake each other. Max started P1, Ham P2, Bot P3, Gas P4, Lec P5 and they finished in the same order. Perez got some action from P20 but even he only finished 8th. There was some kind of action in Lap 1 from Alonso but afterwards nothing happened for the frontrunners. The only exception Bottas accidently took the fastest lap after failing to slow down enough in the last sector and Lewis had to pit again to catch the flap in the last lap.
Monza and Mexico are in most cases overtakeless snoozefests due to extreme weak DRS.
If you're implying that was on purpose, no wayHow convenient of Perez.
Did I imply it was on purpose? I said convenient, not purposeful. If you're implying that was on purpose, no way
Hence the word 'imply', if you said it was purposeful, it wouldn't have been an implication. And the way you said it did really seem to imply it.Did I imply it was on purpose? I said convenient, not purposeful.
Also ironic that something Max has criticised in the past, I'm sure he won't be complaining about it this time at all.
Was kind of hoping that last flare stayed on the track to bring out a red flag, would have been 'simply lovely' to see his own fans cost him Pole.
Yup, need to nip this in the bud as quickly as possible. No hoolligans in F1 please. Do this -> lifetime ban from any F1 event. They better get a handle on the flare-throwing or people are going to be creating safety cars every time they think their driver needs help.
