What happened? I don’t have a stream and only moving dots :(
Tried to drop Max accelerating into the final (banked) turn, Max went with him and was practically alongside at the finish line. Max on fresh softs as well as everyone else bar Perez, so Lewis was basically a sitting duck...

You'll never get proof anyway unless it comes from within.

And your speculation would be flawed as Ferrari don't own Sauber nor employ Bottas.
That's my point, though. Any speculation is just silly. It'll never be proven either way.

It is far too easy to force an opponent off at T1 on the exit. It was bad last year and bad again this year. With only one passing point, that bit either needs to be made smoother, or pushing drivers off needs to be punished. Racing doesn't last longer than a corner and it sucks.

1. Max Verstappen
2. George Russell
3. Charles Leclerc
4. Lewis Hamilton
5. Sergio Perez
6. Fernando Alonso
7. Lando Norris
8. Carlos Sainz
9. Estaban Ocon
10. Lance Stroll

Lewis being 2nd but on softs would have been better over all than being on an older harder tire.

Wonder what Lewis would choose between either softs for both Mercs and 2nd/3rd or both Mercs remain out and stay 1/2.

But it sounds like he wasn’t involved in the call and got the worse half.

A bit of an anti-climax within an anti-climax really; best case for the neutral would've been seeing Max having to pass both Mercs for the win. Pretty sure he would've done it, seeing how easy (relatively speaking) it was for him to pass George the first time around. That got taken away with the VSC, then there was the shenanigans with Lewis losing George as a rear-gunner after the Bottas SC (and his/George's only realistic shot at the win) culminating in Lewis' defence to the finish lasting all of 5 metres...

Turned off the stream, flares getting yeeted onto the track again?

After the VSC/SC Mercedes weren't going to win whatever they did. If they both pitted they wouldn't have been able to pass VER. If they both stayed out and kept track position VER would have had plenty of time to pass both.

The only way they could have won is the original strategy, with no VSC/SC. Even then I feel like they would have struggled to keep him behind.

Max and George in parc ferme after the race...

Russell actually has a very good chance to finish 2nd in championship standings. That's very impressive given how slow his car has been compared to RB and Ferrari.
