Verstappen victory, Hamilton moaning about tyres, Ricciardo touring round like he's only racing Latifi, and Ferrari screwing up tyres/strategy/whole pit stops by any chance?

Whew, woke up in time to watch this one! Sorry, Spa!

Hard to fault Max and Red Bull. Unstoppable.

Congrats to George and Charles.

Sucks for Lewis, but them's the breaks.

Lando doing all of the heavy lifting for McLaren this season. Feels bad for Ricciardo. I get why he has to go... just feels bad, man.

Hoped Mick would get into the points.

Spot on.

edit.

The only thing you didn't guess is Yuki-gate. Apparently.

At least here in America football season starts next weekend, so there won’t be any temptation to watch the rest of this lame-duck fest.

Hmm...

Okay, I'm going to dig deep into my F1 bingo card... Tsunoda got very angry on radio about something, Norris may as well not have been there but just ticked a box between 6th and 9th, Perez was quick enough to never be threatened by anyone but also posed no threat to anyone at the sharp end, there was a totally cringe radio message between Verstappen and Horner, nobody remembered the Alfa Romeos were on the grid until one of them was involved in some incident or other, and... one of the Aston Martins had a very early-race or very late-race collision or near miss?

Nostradamus has entered the F1 chat.

Really feel for Lewis on this one. I don't think they could have won the race once Max got on the soft...but had they put him on the same tire he could have at least fight to keep his podium position that he fought to get.
All but certain Lewis was expecting George to stay behind him as a wingman. Otherwise, he would've wanted those softs as well.

With the 7 remaining races....the focus now is will Max get the record win over a whole season cause realistic speaking, no one can stop him. Can Mercedes get P2 in the constructors over Ferrari and can Lewis win at least 1 race this season to keep his record. There's no questioning whether Max or Red Bull will win this season because it's a done deal as far as I'm concerned.

I'm glad I was so tired (I did a thing yesterday which required several hours of driving and speaking to human beings in a public place... 😬 ) I missed it then.

Salty Hamilton fans have got #F1xed trending on Twitter.
Red Bull made Alpha Tauri make Tsunoda break his own suspension, which somehow caused Bottas to retire, which somehow spooked Mercedes into not pitting Hamilton.

The death threat brigade really is working with 1000 IQ logic here.

Lol I thought that was Abu Dhabi last year!! 🤣🤣

That's what I thought they would do too and the moment they decided to put Russell on the soft...I thought they would have made the same call for Lewis but apparently holding position while in the lead was the gamble they made but the decision for that gamble seemed like it was taken without Lewis' input.

Not quite. The bulk of the conspiracy thinking comes from the absolutely perfectly timed VSC after Tsunoda thought his car was broken, then it wasn't, then he pitted, changed tyres then his car broke again giving Max the perfect VSC window to pit without losing track position to the, at that time, faster Mercedes.

Bottas' retirement doesn't figure, everything after that point is strategic failure on Hamiltons car.

I just don't understand why AT not just retired Tsunoda after he limped back to the pits. There was nothing to fight for at that point. At the least, sending a stricken car out there was awful judgment.

Condition: There were times when Lewis Hamilton was a focal point of the race. However...

He is the Poochie of Sky F1. They wouldn't shut the 🤬 up about him even when he wasn't part of the conversation and wasn't a factor in the lead action of the race. They even entertained the idea that he wasn't a sitting duck with Verstappen on fresh softs reeling him in. It was extremely grating today in particular, no doubt to counter the home crowd in the grandstands.

I enjoyed some aspects of this race and it was great to see Alonso improve greatly on a dismal qualifying. The runs between him, Norris and Ocon with Sainz and Perez just up the road were rather entertaining.
