Isn't that just standard for F1 drivers if they need to go to a hospital?
No. The nearest - and designated - major trauma centre for Silverstone is Northampton. Takes 12 minutes in the helicopter.

Coventry is further (just under half an hour in the helicopter), so it's used if there's a less urgent issue or for availability (Verstappen went to Coventry A&E for a precautionary CT in 2021)... or if they need the specialism. Northampton is a specialist stroke centre, Coventry a specialist neurosurgery centre.

I expect it's the former, as they have specifically said "precautionary". But it was very nasty impact with two additional hits from and all four hits (Vettel from the rear, wall from the front, and whoever hit him from right then left) were imparting forces in different directions, so a little concern is I think warranted.

Knew it, Perez caught Hamilton and Sainz passing Leclerc. Spicy restart.

Go on Lewis!!!!

edit: 5 seconds later... :(

Perez being investigated by the stewards...
