Now we are 7 years since this video title from the 2017 Hungarian Grand Prix, we can safely say "No he did not". This was the nexus point in the Hamilton-Bottas partnership where Bottas trusted Lewis implicitly, hence why he was then always willing and without complaining the Number 2 driver who got out of Lewis's way when asked.

Checo seems more on pace this weekend, let's see if he can get it together for qualifying later on today if they can fix the 🤬 car. Max was meant to be able to qualify on pole with a Haas but now can't beat lead Haas in a race in a Red Bull!

Will be interesting to see how they perform in the next couple of races. They were confident going into last race weekend due to TD they forced, kind of dobbing themselves and others in, that it will show true pace of cars and since then, they look very ordinary although they were expecting to win from it.

Wonder if he will get penalty again, good to see they fixed the car so we have more teams in the fight. Max reaction after first Q3 run looked like he would go for it on the last run to get pole, helps that he hindered George for his final lap too.

Drop of 1 grid position for the next Race in which the driver participates.
1 penalty point (total of 6 for the 12 month period).

I don't think it was being sketchy that surprised people, more that the penalty was given at all. Stewards have been pretty inconsistent of late, and given the impression that Max is untouchable, that was the surprise. I will say though, that a one place penalty when the defacto penalty is three seems a bit off, even if it wasn't a hot lap.

Perez getting through to Q3 being such a novelty shows how far he’s fallen. I don’t remember Gasly or Albon’s performance falling off a cliff this much (could just be my perception though).

Hoping for a great battle up front between Max, Lando and George - pleased that Mercedes seem to be properly competitive up front again.

George‘s race pace looked very good yesterday. Wonder if he can just drive away with it from P1.

I think they should have just given a warning or reprimand if anything. Max will now be gunning for "Princess George", hopefully George didn't damage his car going off-track and gets a clean start and next qualifying, keeps his distance and adheres to everything the race director says. This could open up a lot of gamesmanship next qualifying that might force FIA to introduce a rule to stop drivers doing simulation to force a driver to get a penalty.

Glad they changed the sprint format as with now all the changes people made, it can be a completely different race than the sprint would indicate.

Anyway, this weekend Max has his family round and noticed he looks more like his mum. I didn't realise Lewis looked almost identical to his mum in facial features until he posted a photo of them together last year.
