This weekend has shown that the FIA needs significant changes. The difference in race director is virtually nil (if not worse), the penalties have been atrocious across the board and it's taking away from the good racing. It's so sad, the last 3 weeks have been great racing... but the FIA continues to make a good show look like crap.

I don't know about you guys and gals, but why watch this poor example of motorsport? They won't learn if it doesn't hit their pocketbook, though.

Its the stewards that dish out penalties, not RD.

Felt the Fanatec Six Hours of Jeddah yesterday was more entertaining - that being said, Lewis to Ferrari should spice things up next season. Curious to see how RB do without Newey as well, plus there’s new blood in Bearman and Antonelli.

I tend to do a watchalong with a friend of mine that keeps me subbing - feel the WRC (which does have its problems to be fair) and the Fanatec GT stuff would probably take priority if not for that. Plus, the Fanatec GT stuff is free to watch which is always a bonus!

21 points by my calculation: 30 points gap before the race, with McLaren on 623 points and Ferraei on 593. Ferrari scored 26 points (2nd with Charles, 6th for Carlos), 17 points for McLaren (3rd for Oscar, 10th + fastest lap for Lando).

This puts McLaren on 640 points, and Ferrari on 619.

I wasn't assuming seriousness or not, it was a valid conversational point which I continued. Three race directors in the last three seasons is bringing in inconsistencies which is the BIG issue in F1 at the moment. We get Safety Cars for nothings, and nothings where a Safety Car is needed. Penalties are wildly different in harshness and comeuppance for the "crime" committed, all the while dominating a race where a shortened DRS zone removed the only overtaking point on the track no fans want on the calendar. This race nicely highlighted quite a lot of the issues F1 finds itself in as it fumbles one of the closest seasons we have had in a while.
